Hi Norrine as always super cool DIY. Love this idea and hope to try it. I got some magazine holders to make the other one you showed. Thank you so much for sharing your creations with us ❤
I've been waiting for this one ! And I love both of your ideas !! The first one is my favorite. It looks just as good if not better than the original one. !! You did an excellent job !!! Thank you so much for making these. You are so talented and creative. I can't wait to see the next one! You have wonderful, inspiring ideas !! irissavedbygrace
I LOVE these❣️🤩💜💜💜 They screams farmhouse, rustic & primitive n they’re absolutely gorgeous‼️ Thank you SO very much for sharing all your amazing ideas❣️ I never would’ve thought to use the wire baskets from DT. But I do think the cooling racks/grill covers look SO much better‼️😊
Just started your video and I’m glad someone let you know to stir your stain. Never shake! Love all that you do for us. Have used a lot of your ideas. 😊
Did you say in a previous video that you were getting married? If you did, I missed it!! Where did you guys meet? When was your marriage? Are your girls pleased? Anyway, Congratulations! It's wonderful news!!❤
I did!!!!! Last fall. I've known him for over 35 years. We've always been friends... and our kids used to play together! So, the kids were thrilled. Thank you so much. 💐
Hi Norrine! Loved these projects! The 1st one was my favorite. I was thinking hammered upholstery tacks would look great! You did a great job! You're so creative!❤
Yes. And, when you first buy it, all the elements might be well-mixed, but if it sits, a sludge forms at the bottom, so even if you shake it, very little of that will mix in. It needs to be stirred well with a stir-stick. It might take a while to scoop up the sludge and re-integrate it, but eventually, it will return to normal.
I love this basket! I need that for mail so I stop putting it on my table! 😊 I agree, I'm a fan of the brown one. I've got weather proof stain I can use on the wood in a light brown color that will match my cabinets. I was thinking, on the white one, you could touch up the sides of the nails with your white paint to match. 😊❤
Great diy projects, Norrine! The first one is my favorite! As always, thank you for sharing all of your hard work, creativity, talent, and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy, and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊
Love love these organizers I am definitely going to do the first one because I love it. You always come up with the greatest things Thank you so much 💕
Thank you for these beautiful organizers, Norrine! They would look great with the Dollar Tree black and white paper you like as well. Dividers for your Tickler Files could work too,
I wonder if you could use folded and glued fabric or ribbon in a coordinating color and thumb tacks for the pulls. Another idea might be a thrifted skinny belt. Love this project alot! As always great ideas!!
Absolutely! A think anything could be used for a handle. And, the handle is more decorative then anything.... Thanks for the great suggestions, Leslie.
Love this project!! I haven't read all of the many comments, but on the white one, you could touch up the nails and U-thingies with white acrylic paint to make them blend in more. 😊
Love these and can't wait for the next tutorial. Since this is March 16 I will wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day ☘️ And if we don't see you before a Blessed Easter. 🙏🐇❤
Hi Norrine! I think both of those organizers turned out great! I love how you show us what doesn't work also! You always find a solution! Thanks for sharing! 😍
I get so many ideas from you! The disappointing thing is our Dollar stores are crappy. Seriously. The floors are littered with stuff that fell off of the displays, etc. And, I can never find the cool things that you do. But, I do have a bunch of Milwaukee tools (I can drywall and put in Pex plumbing, too), and it is your ideas that are valuable. I just translate them into things I already have, or other items. You've also got me going to Thrift stores, which I only did occasionally. I've been twice in the last couple weeks, and each time found something unique, and when I looked it up on Etsy or something, it is worth at least ten times what I paid. Which was $1.99. I'm not selling them, but it is very satisfying!
Those kinds of finds make me so happy from thrift stores!!! Good for you!!!!! I love that you can do drywall and plumbing! I am checking into carpentry classes at the local community college - just so I can gain more woodworking skills!
Yeah! Hoop hop haray ! I just finished binge watching your channel, Yes I have spent the last two weeks watching only your videos during my youtubing! Lots of things you say and have done that I will be implimenting although they are goals for mine, and won't be starting until probably August due to the current family/church obligations. But I will be doing them! Thank you for your encouragement. Also on a side note, now that your married will you still be looking for that RV we belong to several RVing groups that we participate in.
Wow!!!! Two weeks of watching me?!?! That is amazing!!!!! Yes, my husband is planning on RV'ing with me. I'll organize wherever we go, and he will sightsee! Let me know if you have any questions, once you start your projects in August. I'll be here for you. xoxoxo
Norrine, you should always stir your stain. The pigment settles to the bottom and will not always mix when shaking. You could have used two flat pieces of faux leather glued wrong side facing together. Paint the raw edges with matching or black paint. You have inspired me to dig through our wood scraps and make some. Thank you!
The idea of moistening the wood and then put the acrylic paint is really useful... ...maybe you could also water down the paint beforehand to achive a "wash"-look? Thanks for sharing !!!
Those came out very nice. You could use hardware wire (1/2 x 1/2) for the sides as well. I built my own quail cages and saved the scraps. They should work great. This design is so simple to make a different size.
Cool ideas! Quote for the day: May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door. May good and faithful friends be yours, wherever you may roam.Huge HUGS! Namesta 🐞🍀🐞🐞🐞🐞
I love these! I love the mix of materials and I will definitely be making some of these. I have plenty of scrap wood and this project will help me use some of it up. Thank you!!!
This is a fantastic project …on my todo list! I love the way the first one turned out. The second one maybe you can paint it your favorite chalk paint color. It might look better than the white. ❤
You could also make one from those wire grids that clip together making a wire cubbie. I hope that makes sense. I see stacks taped together in thrift stores all the time really cheap. I think I'd made the whole size of the grid. I think they are 12 x 12 or slightly smaller. I do know they are square. If I come across a few I'll try it & post in Facebook group.
I like the first one as well. For the faux leather, if folded, you need to glue it onto itself on each layer. If that makes sense. You could also do it the same way with a hemming tape and iron it, with a cloth over top. Another way would be to fold it as you did and sew 1/8" from the sides.
I'm not to sure it was your stain, more likely the wood. Each wood type absorbs differently. You can always do a couple of coats to darken it more. That's also why testing is always a good idea.
Love these! Had a thought about the leather handles you were trying to make- perhaps next time, glue the inside too so you don't get a tube? Very clever idea though! And it looks as though your stain had sunk to the bottom of the tin- stain needs to be stirred I'm pretty sure. Thanks for sharing!
I like the first one especially. I'm wondering if you lightly scored the back of the leather for the handles if that could help it hold the shape better. I'd put a little glue in that area and set something on it to flatten it while it dries. Something like that would be nice for storing boxes of baggies, saranwrap, and parchment rolls in the kitchen, too. Maybe a taller one for gift wraps. Thanks!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I was thinking about using Dollar Tree cutting mats (instead of the grid) for a more discreet look ... Permanent vinyl sticks to the mats really well so they could even be labeled or decorated...
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Oh. You’re a lucky girl. Homemade baked goodies are so much better than store bought. Maybe he’s thinking, I’ll fatten her up so I get to keep her forever 😉 I use to say that to my ex husband. It was a loving (but me also trying to be clever) way of saying how much I loved him. I’d also say, I’m going to fatten you up so no one else wants you, then I get to keep you forever. Your husband is a very lucky man! I’m so happy for you! 💕
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Elaine!!!! I really appreciate that!!!!!
So cute! 😊

Wonderful! Let me know how it goes!
Hi Norrine! I love, love what you made!!! I think that Fabri-Tac could work for your leather handles.
You are right! That would have worked.

It was my favorite too - out of all of the ideas! I was so excited to make it - and love how it turned out! Thanks for checking in, Iriss!
I’ve had that happen with stain. Sometimes, if you stir it with a stick the settled stuff comes up. Good luck
Looking back, I think the lumber was treated.... I should have sanded it. Oh well.
Great video as always xx
Thank you, Yvonne!
Barbecue grill trays are about 20 euros apiece on this side of the pond...but I'm thinking a cooling rack might work!
I hope so!!!! It was fun to make - but not if it's expensive. Let me know!
Love this idea, as always thank you so much!
You are so welcome! Thanks for being here with me.

Sometimes you can find 12x12 wire grids at Dollar Tree in the office section those would work well with potentially no cutting
