Been playing this recently. I’m at the 4th chapter and I can definitely say it’s not really a souls-like. I’ve only struggled on 3 bosses so far and I’ve beaten the rest on my first try. In this game it feels like if you meticulously explore each area you get overleveled easily to apply skills points in the areas you feel like you need to win. The difference is that, even if you could do the same in Dark Souls or Elden Ring, you’d still inevitably reach a boss that could easily stomp you so many times that you’d feel like quitting and coming back to try again later. This game feels just feels so much easier. I haven’t even had to farm for materials or xp. Haven’t even used any items to boost my attack or defense. I’ve just been filling out the map and I really haven’t encountered anything too problematic. It’s a fun game and all, but honestly I prefer the soulsborne games from Fromsoft quite a bit more.

This game it’s just stupid besides it’s just a rush in boss fights it doesn’t really help you in terms of upgrading it’s impossible to manage to understand how to do all the upgrades or what exacly you need
It's a linear adventure that divides into chapters, and each chapter has its own map to explore. The first chapter feels more linear than the rest (at least, that's what I've heard. I'm only in chapter 2 myself currently), so there's not a lot of places to go. But you should still explore every nook and cranny to make sure you don't miss out on anything. The second map is bigger and has a sense of exploration

Important point that is missing: Wandering Weight permanently de-spawns when you ring the 3rd bell so there is a limit to "coming back later"

Masterful, masterpiece, etc. all overstatements. Over hype. The games fine. But not GOTY worthy. Not by any measure great. Just decent.
