Excellent podcast Kurt. This is a good start to exploring Godly manhood. I work with men so this is a topic I'm highly engaged in. Men DO need a mission and purpose and hopefully the church offers that for them. Men DO need an adventure. They need to get outside of their homes, their work, their church walls to do fun and challenging things.
But most of all, they need to be loved by a woman the way that he desires to be loved and to love a woman the way that she desires to be loved. This one is the hard one. This one is the one that is most challenging to men. This is the one that will refine them the most. This is the one that needs far more attention and focus.
There is a good percentage of men who simply don't know how to be a high quality husband. They want to, but they don't know how. This is an area that needs a lot more focus.

Awesome podcast episode. I for one definitely needed to hear this. Especially in these days where I feel dead inside no matter what I do.

Love this topic! Already forwarded to two of my buddies who are EQ Presidents. A ton of takeaways, but the most significant are the 3 things every man needs.
Any chance we can do a group discussion of this with others? I’d even pay for it!

Kurt, I'm a single mom with four Sons, 3 are married with children and the fourth is 24 years old. I am so grateful you are doing these podcasts. It is absolutely true that we need to help reclaim the hearts of men in the church and help them to have such a better closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for what you guys are doing to help these great Warriors!
They do not realize how powerful they are, and how powerful their priesthood is! Thank you in your ministering to Brothers to help reclaim the hearts of men who really want to head toward being like Jesus Christ.

    Hi neighbor!
I've grown to appreciate my EQ a lot more over the past couple years (i.e. since the end of the COVID disruption). Our quorum has had some good honest instructors and has hosted some good and meaningful activities lately.
But also, I appreciate the combining of High Priests into the Elders' Quorum a lot more than when they first made that change. I think it's been really good for us middle-aged men, and I hope it's been good for the younger men, to have the diverse kinds of older men in the room with us - including the garrulous 90-year-old who always has a yarn to spin.
It seems to me we've started to see a bit more opening up in our EQ meetings, but I suspect there's a lot that's still hidden. I know I still hide a lot - not as much as I used to. It can take a long time for some of us to open up in our expression with our brothers. The conviction that my feelings or my emotional "needs" (if I even have any) are burdens on others is a really really strong one that seems like it might take the rest of my life to chip away, if I can even be persuaded that it's not true.
Again, I'm a neighbor to you now, and it would be interesting to visit some time.
