But this would be an absolutely tedious approach to realism for a video game, holy shit. I just hope the Anomaly modders don't read this, they love that pointless micromanaging
Since these are all rail-mounted, pretty much every optic should be able to go on every gun. It boggles the mind that you can't put a red dot on the Viper-5 or the Integral, or the Rhino for that matter. And what if I want to put a Kobra sight on my AS? It's got the exact same mount as the AKM. If we're going full-cursed with the underbarrel shotgun on the sniper rifle, we should have more options to make cursed shit with other guns too. Gimme a Rhino with that 8x scope.
You can find certain uniques that have special attachments. There is a hk416 with a long scope and an as Val with a kobra. Lots of others as well. These weapons also allow for the vanilla attachments and modules in most cases.
I like how the shotguns in this game can shoot at short to medium ranges like irl shotguns unlike the other shotguns found in other games that only works in a very short range

There's absolutely zero reason the AKS-74U can't use the 45 round magazine. It can be used by all AK-74 platforms. Hell, it was famously used by Osama Bin Laden in exactly that combination.
Same as most optics that are piccatiny rail compatible, yet not all of them fit in some weapons, but I guess it was made that way to keep some "personality" to the weapons and not for all of them to be able to fit anything in them, idk that's the only reason I see for this haha

I mean there's a lot of pointless/dodgy design decisions regarding weapons , for example the "Rhino revolver" aka Taurus Raging Bull firing Russian 9x39 subsonic rounds (?!?!?) or the PKP firing 7.62x39 instead of 7.62x54R as it used to in the OG games. I guess preventing a few weapon attachments from being mounted to weapons that could absolutely, feasibly use them may be more of a balancing decision, and if you're not really a gun nut, then it's probably acceptable. The most jarring decision I am still not over yet is the fact that there are no binoculars and no NVGs.
Nah, they cooked pretty good. The game might be not as charming as the previous ones from the trilogy, but they still got so many things right. The gunplay, the overall mood of the game, as well as the absolutely gorgeous map - they're modern looking enough, yet still have that old vibe. Just need to polish the game for a little longer.
I feel like the Bukhet S-2 is a slept on SMG in this game. Good penetration and easy to control recoil. Makes this a solid self defense gun for when they get too close.
I honestly love the balance between realism and pacing, like obviously it's mot rwalistic for them to be glued in place after just placing them on, but they also can't make the animation 30 sec long of just tightening the threads. GSC knew what they were doing 🔥
Previously, weapon updates only changed the characteristics of the weapon, since there were few body kits (only scopes, silencers, underbarrel grenade launchers).

The VS Vintar is supposed to be able to equip a 8x PSO Scope (spelled POS ingame) the same model the SVU uses but is currently bugged. Hope they fix it soon I love the look of the PSO with its rubber eyepiece
The EMR definitely needs a bipode actually some weapons need bipodes to make it more realistic. I hope they add more attachments like the bipode and more LMGs.
There is a rifle called Cluster Foxtrot (not the actual name, but my comment will probably get deleted if I say it correctly) that has a 6x or 8x scope, you can find one after completing 3 side quests in Sultansk/Skadovsk and Shevchenko. It's the same HK416, but has a suppressor, a scope, higher damage and penetration (I assume range as well), but lacks full-auto mode.

The world feels empty as hell 90% of the time then ever 5-10 mins they spawn 3-4 guys 20 meters from you
