    I love this strategy. It has definitely been one of most consistent ones. I love to play it on those Roll to Win machines because other players have no idea you're full on dark side cuz they are so focused on their monitors and getting their bets in.

      Agreed. Which is why i now play the don't come instead of the don't pass. So i wait for the point to be established and just put money on the don't come. That way I don't care if the point is hit (so till going with the table), and still get a chance to win on the come out 7. I use the Stearn method with my don't come bet. It's only 1 don't come bet per shooter. I don't have multiple numbers on the don't.

    I know this is an older video, but this strategy is good if you have enough bankroll to hold on during the repeat points. Hedging the hard 4/10 also reduces your risk from a shooter that keeps hitting 4/10 .
    I like Waylons 4/10 ladder for this, it helps recover some of the losses.

  • @rayhjr72
    @rayhjr72 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I play the same way except I only lay the 4 OR 10(whatever one just hit). As dont players we have 6 ways for the seven to hit and lose. If you just lay the 4 OR 10 you cut the odds in half to 3 ways of losing. If you lay BOTH you give the edge back to the casino with 6 ways of losing. So if your going with 6 ways of losing I rather lose 15 bucks than 41 bucks.

    I would bet on a lay bet behind just the 4 or 10 for the come out roll, with 2 dollars on the 11. After point is established, I would pull down the lay and now have money on don't pass and play the inside numbers that equals to how much is on the dont pass. After a few wins I would pull the money down from the inside numbers and put a match bet the point and either win a little off that, or break even. You can make a lot of money from the inside numbers, but after a few rolls, why give the casino back all the inside numbers when a 7 hits. Beat them to it.

      yes that's what I was thinking don't repeat the lay bet on the 4 just lay odds of $50 on my don't pass 4 so that it would win $25...(actually as a math tutor myself I would recommend not placing odds in that case on the don't pass 4 bc the flat $15 bet has an advantage over the house yet will get paid even money)... thanks for answering my question Jeremy... My experience is that a "wrong bettor" strategy like this one is only effective when the shooter can't hold the dice for more than 4 or 5 rolls at most. It is possible to eke out a profit if a longer roll materializes - but it is rare for the wrong bettor to earn much at all. Best time to use such a system is right after a long roll. Usually, the next few players are going to crap out fast.

      You lose the lay bet, but then just treat it as any other number, and lay odds against the number. The nice thing about the 4/10 being the don't point, there is only 3 ways to roll it and cause your bet to lose, while you have 6 ways to win with the 7. a 2:1 favorite!

  • @mghvw1500
    @mghvw1500 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I do a very similar strategy. I play don’t pass exclusively.
    I start with a $50 don’t pass with a $60 lay on 4/10. Once point is established I take down the lays on 4/10. Depending on the number, I lay odds of 60/75/100 so I win $50 on my lay odds bet.
    I also put $15 come bet and put double odds on any number that is rolled.
    The come bet protects against a hot shooter
    If someone hits a bunch of numbers, I’m at least winning some money
    If someone goes point then 7 I win $115
    I usually start with $1000 bankroll. Of course there are holes to every strategy. If someone goes point, point, seven, it’s a little painful

    As an experiment, I played this system exclusively each night for a solid week at home. Averaged about 140 rolls with each session so I had well over 1,000 rolls to work with as a small data base. I would start with a $300 bank and track each roll in a log with results, etc. also noted. What I noticed is that most times, rolls/hands lasted no more than 5 rolls before either seven or the don't pass point came up. What hurts the most with this strategy is when either 4 or 10 show up more frequently than they should according to the probability tables (as happened in this video). This is no doubt due to probabilistic variance, i.e. those stretches of rolls when certain numbers show up in mini-streaks, e.g. the 4 comes up four times in 12 rolls when it shouldn't show up more than 1 time. I had much the same experience on every night I played. Sometimes the streakiness with 4 or 10 came late enough that I had banked enough to quit ahead. But the streakiness comes early, then the system leaves you with a fast declining bank and a feeling you should shift to another strategy as the dice are coming up adverse to your positions.

    Overall, not a bad strategy. Thank you for sharing it! I think the math teacher, would be better served by simply skipping the high house-edge prop bets. Also, many don't consider that the lowest denomination chip most casinos have at Craps tables is: $1, so most casinos normal-round, or in some cases round-down, the vig. What this means at a casino that normal-rounds (like most Vegas properties) is; you can buy (or lay to win) up to $29, for only a $1 vig, that's the same amount it cost you to buy (or lay to win) $20. If you happen to find a casino that rounds-down, you can buy (or lay to win) up to $39, for only a $1 vig. Buy/lay 4/10 (vig on win only), are already a good bets, but you may be able cut the house's edge almost in half, by betting as much as you can for your vig! My nearby casino's all round-down. so to keep the math simple, (and not attract an unwanted attention) I usually Buy for $35 (win $70, -$1 vig), or Lay $70 (win $35 -$1 vig)

      I ran the numbers and assuming you play 36,000 rolls (assume you play 1200 rolls a year for 30 years) the Valentine strategy while only laying against 4 OR 10 (not both) ends up being a significantly better strategy at losing the least amount of dough. This would be at a $15 min. table where you lay odds at $30 for 6/8, $45 for 5/9, $50 for 4/10 and you take down the lay bet if it happens to become the point.
      This teacher's strategy only ever has a positive bankroll about 3% of the time with averaged losses of $13,000. I didn't even bother counting the prop bets which would make the numbers even worse. The modified Valentine I mentioned has a positive bankroll about 17% of the time with averaged losses of $4000.
      For another comparison passline with max odds (3x4x5x) has a positive bankroll about 37% of the time with averaged losses of $2300. Passline again but with 1x2x3x odds has a positive bankroll about 35% of the time with averaged losses of $2100.

    I'm a true professional craps player so let me tell you the main issue here. He put 2 lays bets on 4/10 in hopes that them arriving is slighter chance then the 7. He didn't work out his math correctly if he's supposedly a teacher because by laying the 4/10 he increased the chance of them arriving to "6" probabilities. Now the 4/10 is just as powerful as the "7" same amount of probabilities. They both now have 6 probabilities each so he's defeating the purpose. Best to just lay either the 4 "Or" 10 to minimize the probabilities.

    This is an old Don't strategy that supposedly came out of Chicago. The 4 & 10 lay bets should be taken down after the come out point is established and used for odds on the don't pass. If the 4 or 10 comes out as the point you lose the lay bet but you should make it up when the 7 shows up. Its not a winning strategy in the long run because the table will switch from hot to cold and vice versa plus its hard to make up a loss when the 4 & 10 cause a loss. I use the same method but usually only lay $10 on the 4, 10 and don't pass. If a 4, 10, 11, 7 come out i won't loose much on the come out roll.
    Once the point is established, I'll lay full odds on all three and also I'll put $5 hardways on both 4 and 10.

    A math teacher should know that:
    - hedge with high house edge bets is a loser
    - laying the odds after the point is established lowers the player advantage
    So tho correct the weaknesses:
    - no props
    - no laying odds
    - off the 4 and 10 when the point is on
    - 20 instead of 40 on the 4 and 1
    This would’ve won only 64 but without ever going below 504 bankroll

      a high house edge bet is a loser: laying odds does not lower players advantage, it lowers overall house edge, and gets paid true or fair odds of winning vs losing the bet. It makes the bet more volatile but doesn't not lower advantage.

    • @Ciaolo
      @Ciaolo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ColorUp The don’t pass/don’t come bet has a high house advantage before the point is established (loses on 8/36 and wins on 3/36). When it survives that, it becomes a player advantage bet, because it pays even money (wins on 6/36 and loses on 3 or 4 or 5/36). Laying true odds lowers that advantage.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The dont bet has a house edge of 1.36%. Laying odds does not effect that edge on initial bet. When you lay odds you get paid true for the odds of rolling the number. The 7 is 2:1 over the 4. So you get paid 1:2. A fair bet. This doesn’t lower players advantage at all. It does however lower the overall house edge bet. As the flat bet is 1.36% and the lay odds bet is 0% the more odds you lay the lower the house edge % on the overall amount of money becomes.

      Let's say you bet $5 on the Don't Pass.
      On the come out roll you have 22.2% probability of losing $5 and 8.3% probability of winning $5, for an estimated loss of $0.69.
      When the point is established, let's say it's 6, that bet has 16.7% probability of winning $5 and 13.9% probability of losing $5 for an estimated win of $0.14.
      If you lay $24 odds you have 16.7% probability of winning $19 and 13.9% probability of losing $29 for an estimated loss of $0.86.

      Ciaolo87 the calculations are already built into before/after point is established. Don’t pass bet is 1.4% house edge. Laying or taking odds does not effect the line bet. It is an additional bet at 0% edge. You are confusing probability with house edge. Once a dont is established, you are more probable to win that bet. Thus you bet more to win back less with the odds bet. You are betting on the favorite. In case of 4/10. You are the 2:1 favorite so you get paid only one dollar for your $2 bet. You don’t have to take my word for it. Disagree all you like. It’s a simple google search. Start with the mathematician “wizard of odds”

    I even wait till I see repeat numbers as one is rolled within say 3 rolls then I bet against that number to get the most odds on my favor in general. That said I've seen 5 9s and 5 5s get rolled in a row which is very rare and I got slaughtered that day

      Unfortunately each roll of the dice is independent. There could’ve been 20 rolls of 9 in a row. The chance of rolling 9 on the next roll is still the same as any other roll.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Odds of rolling two nines in a row is 1 in 81, three in row is 1 in 729…but you correctly state, each roll is independent and the chance to roll a 9 is the same each roll 4/36 or 1 in 9

    Bet the pass and don't pass line on the come out and then the house has no advantage and you can lay odds on each number rolled before a 7 or the point comes out. For example, shooter comes out with a 5, you lose your pass bet but your don't pass bet wins. Now the shooter either has to make the point [5] or roll a 7 to end the roll. The odds of rolling a 5 on the second roll is 11% and rolling a 7 is 16% which means the shooter will probably not roll either thus giving you another chance to lay odd on. On the third roll the chances of rolling a 5 are 30% whereas the chances of rolling a 7 is 43%. So it is possible another number will be rolled so you can lay odds. On the 4th roll the chances of rolling a 7 is 52%. It is just math.
    Here is the math (5/6)4 = 625/1296 = 48% chance that you will not get a 7 on 4 rolls and a 52% chance you will.
    Explanation: When rolling 2 dice there are 36 possible outcomes. Only 6 will result in a 7 being thrown, so you will not roll a 7 5/6 (83.3% ) of the time.
    So 4 rolls of the dice are as follows: 5/6 X 5/6 X 5/6 X 5/6 = 625/1296 = .48 (48% chance you will not get a 7 on four rolls of the dice) and a 52% chance you will.

      I agree and if you hard four get knocked out 4 times double to 10 dollars on the hard 4 and ten. One in three times a hard 4 should roll so I like your idea I thought the same.

    I wait for the point to be established then bet 50-75 don’t come with a $5 on the 11. Leaving only the 7 as a loss.
    If it’s a 4 or 10 I double up the don’t come. I then bet enough on the hard way(if it’s my don’t come number) to hedge my don’t come.
    Ie: if the don’t come is a 4 I then bet the hard 4 to cover. Then I bet on the 6&8(minimum bet).
    If my don’t come is 6 or 8 I bet the hard way and drop minimum on the 6 or 8(which ever isn’t the don’t come).
    It wins slowly. The larger don’t come let’s me bet the 6&8 and still profits on a 7. If the roller hits a few 6 or 8 then a 7 it’s a good win.
    Been doing this for years and I ALWAYS leave ahead!!
