5:04 What you're describing is preignition (ping). Knock is more associated with detonation (the mixture combusts too quickly due to the fuel characteristics or compression ratio). Ping is when the flame front of that premature secondary ignition collides with the flame front of the main, intended ignition source coming off the spark. The two pressure waves combine and hit the piston harder and earlier than designed. Knock is when the mixture is exploding off the sparkplug rather than burning.
You have a great way of explaining the tech to the average guy, love this video! Keep it up, would love to hear thoughts and plans on suspension for VB’s as well 😊
Thanks!! I appreciate comment as well, makes the world of difference on these lower view videos. And there is a lot to say honestly, in the same path as the VA, coilovers make a world of difference. I think lowering it and increasing the spring rate will make a solid difference, but if you aren't looking for a rougher and more raw ride, I think that softer aftermarket coils on these tend to feel floaty in my opinion
Great video but I have a question I don't have access to high octane fuel and the quality of fuel is so bad in my country So I wonder can I use ethanol for my stock car as a octane booster without any major side effects Because regular octane booster have bad effects on the engine and I cannot afford the expensive one's
Just run what you have, more likely than not if you are truly in a bad fuel area, a different car is the best approach. It's the reason I am not tuned on e85. or any e blend.

Good video! Please keep it up on more VB WRX content
Good video man, not enough videos on this stuff. Most are “internet fails”, “I’m cooler than this guy”, etc..
I appreciate that! Thanks for the comment too! Makes the world of difference on these videos!
