    F the EPA, the impact and amount of people tunning their cars is negligible, why dont they go after the big polluters instead?

      the irony is a lot of emissions come from inefficiency and one of the best ways to get more power is more efficiency thus less emissions. look at Edison Motors the Scania engines they are getting are so efficient they don't need a DPF.

      You aren't wrong, when you think about total impact relative to other industries, we are talking needle in the haystack.

      @@AutoEnthusiastat the local level a really bad vehicle harms people around him especially cyclists and cars stuck behind him. The owner of said vehicle should be fined not so much the company with software but we get the why, because the EPA are lazy and this is easier. Also why doesnt the EPA pick on states opting to not even test cars or control anything? It just picks on whoever is an easy target.

      From a car perspective, cars with deleted cats produce emissions on the order of 100x cars with cats. If you've deleted the cat from your car you are part of the problem in my opinion. The EPA wouldn't be coming after us if people kept their cats and evap and egr etc. You gain what, 5-20 hp by removing a cat? Congrats.... Deleting cats is basically the equivalent of street takeovers in my opinion. You're just making it harder for the rest of us by giving us all a bad name.

      The EPA sucks. I wish more people were aware of the fact that companies can't offer small sized pickup trucks anymore due to the ass backwards regulations on emissions. They would rather you drive around in a massive dually than a S10!

    So, I bought a 2012 wrx hatch 4 years ago that was pro-tuned using COBB and an accessport. It is catless as is, and I've never had an issue with the NYS emissions testing. But now, if I want to do anything that requires a tune, I've got to go catted. Any recommendations on a CARB compliant high-flow cat?

    • @AutoEnthusiast
      @AutoEnthusiast  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Must be a GESI cat, also that's insane you have been getting by in NYS! Right on! Feel free to email JXR Performance and I can hook up a discount on an exhaust if needed

    also. who has installed a GESI certified downpipe? did you throw a CEL?

    • @rjp2830
      @rjp2830 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to run the Grimmspeed V2 jpipe if you use the 1st gen with the two scroll turbo it will have issues with boost creep. V2 jpipe is what I have and no problems. It has high flow cat

Last time I was pulled over for my license plate relocation and tried to ticket me for no front plate and I had to break it to him that there is a front plate that he needs to walk in front of the car and he'll see it relocated to the lower right where the tow hook is located. He could have been a dick because I had smoked plate covers which is illegal in CA to have anything covering your plates but I was a couple blocks from home and gave me a warning to go home and take them off because he will site me for it if he sees me again and they're still on

    So the EPA is communist

  • @turbo_brian
    @turbo_brian 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Honestly, deleting cats or egr or evap systems drastically increases the emissions your car produces. Doing that is what is getting the EPAs attention. If you delete a cat, you increase your emissions by an order of 100x. If 100,000 cars delete their cats, that's basically 10 million cars worth of emissions. Getting those cars off the road is by far the easiest way for the EPA to reduce emissions from the automotive industry. If you've deleted your cat, you're making it harder for all of us by getting us so much attention. You're basically the street takeover of the tuner community.

    • @InclineDumbbell
      @InclineDumbbell หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you seriously think a Prius or a Camry is gonna be out here deleting their cats??? And the purpose of deleting cats is to reduce restriction, that is where tuners can gain performance. Actually braindead

      ^i semi agree more so in the idea that we are talking about threads of a shirt, it's such a small drop of water that this is likely just a "winnable" realm in the world of progress. I started my career in the renewable energy engineering/study world, and doing something like eating a little less meat, or mandatory home insulation (which isn't that expensive and will save you money) make car emissions something in the wind.
