Mr. McPhail has got all digits making beautiful and useful flies.
Haters gotta hate,. I guess.
Your style and imagination is unbelievable. No one can match it. You have been a driving force in enhancing the abilities of so many fly tiers of every level across the world. You are truly inspiring. Thank you for all your videos.
Very professional!👍👍! Tight lines🐜🪰🦗!!!!
If I were a fish, I wouldn't hesitate to go after this bug! I'm amazed how UV resin has become such a useful tool in fly tying. That's a great bug you tied!
Very nicely done love your videos and that you take so much time to teach us your gift!
It’s such a nice looking pattern, and not to hard at all to tie! Thanks for sharing that!
Awesome nymph Davie! I've watched this particular video several times and I enjoy all your videos. Heading off to tie some of these now
Wow, great pattern. Love your vids, they put me in the mood to dust off my tying vice and go for it. Thanks.
Hi Davie,
you may not know it, but we spent a lot of time togehter. Could be nearly 200 Clips I watched, every time wondering, what you are explaining: Because of your accent that isn't taught in german schools. Better than that I understand your patterns. Seeing this one I know: trout and grayling will love it.
I appreciate your Clips very much and I am looking forward to a couple of hundreds more!
Fish hard - life is short

Hello Davie,
I have watched so many of your videos and have learned so very much. I hope to see many more videos in the future.
This mayfly nymph is a great pattern, as are many of the others. Thanks again for being so generous with your time and knowledge.
Michael
the summer is coming back! and after seeing your tying (brilliant as usual) i can't wait for the season opening, greetings from Andorra
That was fantastic.
Thanks a lot, Davie.
A Magician ! .... i tried to make it 2 Wends ago .. i must say it's MUCH more difficult for me than it looks in video .. but i got a good résult .... i'll try it this year ... made 3 colorations to adapt for my French Pyrenees rivers ...can't wait .....Thanks you make the best flies ever ... because in water they're really killers .
Cette année les montages vont être consacrés aux montages de nymphe et bien sûr suivant vos modèles toujours aussi beaux
Hello Davie.
Now the time is turning and summer will come to us again. Thats when I start tying my flies and I always come up whith a new pattern for the seasong. I have been tying since I was 14 year old, thats 30 years of tying. Still after watching your videos ( wich I started to do last year) I can sincerly say I still got some to learn. Every technical "twist" of tying you do sems so obvious and natural Like:-"why didn´t I thought af that.!!
Thanks for inspiring me.
Greetings from Sweden.
Hi dunkroken,
It's very kind of you to let me know that my videos have been of some help to you, I'm sure you have many techniques that I would find helpful as well...
Happy New Year and all the very best for 2014...
All the very best Davie
What a great looking fly.
Amazing fly tying!!!!
Precision from great goldsmith, congratulations. Daniele
Awsome fly
complimenti sempre ottime costruzioni una soddisfazione farle ancora meglio usarle
Great vid thanks
thank you
Hey Davie, Great nymph, I have never used UV resin unless there was plastic underneath. I use clear cure goo, and I like all of it but I don't use the hydro except for an over coat or for thread wraps. It doesn't seem to take the beating the thin, thick or flex does. It tends to come off unless it is used all the way around the hook.
Thanks for sharing your great ideas. All the best, Sean
Davie , great pattern again. i think thats another that will work a treat here in NZ. Dont worry about translation.( no point in changing accent , unless you can find a better one and I havent so far) anyway the pictures tell it all. keep up the good work mate and ps still using that lead you sent me a while back works a treat for getting down where those big fish are. Needless to say if you are ever out this way you wont have any shortage of people wanting to take you fishing
cheers
Reidy
Very nice.

Отлично!!!
superb as always mate, can lead be used instead of wire or will that make it way to heavy for how this is to be fished?
many thanks
Kenny

Dave, great looking bug, as usual! What torch do you use?
Hi Stan Crump,
I've attached a link to the torch that I use, which has the adaptor, no batteries needed...

The uv resin is neat stuff, isn't it!?
Great video. I'm new to fly tying / fishing. Where can I get that UV Resin at?
HiJ0Gu7,
There's many UV Resins being sold now and they all do much the same, here's a list of the ones I have tried..Bug Bond, Diamond Brite and Loon..all of these can be found on the internet so I would recommend buying from someone you know...
All the very best Davie
hi davie i love your vids i am thinkin about openin a fly shop ps im irish too
Mr. McPhail, have you ever considered using CDC instead of Partridge in this legging technique Maybe not with this particular fly but more for an emerging/floating nymph type fly? Love the wing case...actually I love the entire fly.
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
CDC is a great fibre as you know, it can be easily added to many patterns from the larva stage through to dries and mixing them with other hackles wouldn't harm the flies in any way...

Would Uni Mylar clear be a substitute for the sparton clear wrap
Hi Brendan,
Yes as this is what I used now myself....ATB Davie
@@DavieMcPhail thanks a million
Dear Mr. McPhail,
I noticed that in this video, the Uni thread did not seem to spin. When I leave the spool free hanging, the spool seems to spin uncontrollably. What do you do in order to stop this?
Thanks, Davis
Hi Davis,
I don't really do anything to stop the bobbin spinning though waxing the thread may help. I also prefer to keep a hold of it as much as I can as this will help keep the dressing tight as I'm tying the fly, I especially do this when tying the hackle and the wing on...
All the very best Davie
hi david

Hi rastafly,

Great work! What thickness of the thorax resin you use? You make it seem so easy. Thanks.
Hi C Lewis,
I prefer a lite UV Resin which I used in the video but a regular version will work fine on this style of fly.. Glad you liked the fly..
All the very best Davie...
first fish,,, auto release :D
magic
thanks
Great tie, but am I the only one who has a hard time understanding what you are saying?
