I KNEW there was a way to do this but I could not figure it out!! I just started my POD products and had a design in my head that I couldn't make a reality. Just figured this out myself. Have to download it first as is. Then upload and remove background. This video helped me figure that out lol

Excellent tutorial, straight to the point and just what I needed. What I find pretty stupid though is, is how this is not a feature that you can do within Canva itself and that you have to find a third party software to accomplish this.

Is there a way to do this with the grunge element staying black? Like if I wanted to distress white text with a black grunge and remove the black background?
You do that using “masking” which you can do in Photopea.

Awesome I wondered how I remove those peaty white spots. I have a quick q on magic eraser and can't find an answer anywhere...trying to blend the wonky shadows from an ai design on su glasses but can't seem to blend well. Gotta. Min??

how do i keep the white but get rid of it from the background? I still want it on the text as what but not anywhere else. Would a standard background remover work the best?
I dont understand what the "white level" slider below our image.... I noticed you didnt change it.
With a dark background it might look more grunger and vintage
Nice, I am definitely going to try this out. May ask why you didn't use the background remover that is built within Canva or Creative Fabrica? Do you find they are not suitable enough for this?
This video was made before the canva background remover came out so its not an option before. I tried the canva one but they sometimes literally just remove the background so the grunge texture doesn't show up on the text.

Great EXCEPT that only partially done on Canva and requires another program.
But what about black background removal
I tried with that website you mentioned, but it wouldn’t work for some reason?? …to that point, I see that Canva has a BG Remover edit option…have you messed around with it at all?? I did this morning & it does work, but doesn’t seem as good of an option as the one you originally mentioned & use in this video!

I got the Sony vz e10 for camera and can’t remember the mic but ill check when I’m home. But it does have a boom arm 😊

Hi! Your video very helpful, but I have a trouble with white font. When I'm trying remove background, this tool remove font.
Use #fcfcfc for the font color so that its not pure white and then you can actually adjust the "white level" of the background remover. :)

I don't specifically, usually I always make it white. but Canva background remover may pick it up or remove.bg works too to remove backgrounds!

Not a dumb question at all! I teach Print on Demand so its exactly how to do that :) I use Printify which will print and ship all my products for me! So you can put your design on multiple products that they have

You can change the font color to white in canva using duotone :)

This is great until you have white writing in the design as it removes this lettering as well

You can adjust the slider of the white background remover so that it doesn't erase all the white elements.
