    OMG, Juna. You have no idea how much you just helped me. My poor little ADHD brain insisted that we try to figure this out on our own (we are stubborn that way). After wasting an embarrassing amount of time tinkering in Affinity, I finally convinced the ole brain to take a break and let Juna show us what's up. I cannot express how much I appreciate you, your knowledge, your willingness to share, and most of all your sweet disposition. And, just so you know, yours is the channel I always let play in the background while I go about my day. IDK if it helps your stats at all, but I figure it's the least I can do to show support and appreciation. THANK YOU and all the best to you and your family.

    Thanks to Juna and his outdoor video I thought up some keywords for cross niching my niche with Outdoors because it makes sense for my niche. NOW he's showing us some more cool stuff. For those that want some tips to help with selling designs, you can upload a plain graphic, a distressed graphic and grunge graphic all of the same thing and POD sites consider all 3 different due to the look of the graphic. That also allows you to use Keywords involving Grunge or distressed in your descriptions, tags or title because now it's relevant to the design.

    I employ a distinct approach reminiscent of Canva but utilizing Photopea. Firstly, in Canva, I place the texture at the forefront of my design, ensuring that I download it with a background matching the color of the texture. Subsequently, in Photopea, I utilize the magic wand tool to select and eliminate the black background, yielding the desired result.

    Thanks for the video! Does this technique work for a DTG printer, though? The printing company I use recommends staying away from using transparencies in designs because the transparent areas will be filled in with a white underbase and they also warn that custom brushes and textures may be problematic. So I wonder, will adding a vintage texture to my designs not really work for the DTG tshirt printing?
    Or...because we are flat-out removing bits and pieces from the design to create the 'vintage effect', does it actually work because the printer will know to avoid the white underbase color in the spaces we removed on photopea?
    Have you used this technique for DTG printing?
    I appreciate any advice you may be able to give! Thanks again!

    • @DetourShirts

      Great question.... I've never sent my designs to another company besides POD companies.... All the POD companies I use require transparent backgrounds

    • @alylou8288
      @alylou8288 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @DetourShirts Yes the POD company I use (Print ify) require transparent backgrounds as well but the way they explain the printer works is that it first lays downs a white color where the design goes and then uses the cmyk color chart to print on top of the white to color in the design. So I guess what you're saying is the vintage texture is essentially just becoming part of the 'transparent background', in which case it should work for me! Really appreciate your tutorial, thanks again.

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it should work.... they do lay down a white just so the colors look right on the shirt.....but the white is only behind the image not anything else so you don't see the white unless you have white as a color on your design.

    Thank you for the amazing content as always!
    I have a small question, do you think it's ok and good to have a store - whether on MBA or RB or shopify - with random niches and designs on the same store? I get an idea of a design every now and then through observation in life and things that hapoen daily, but it's mostly all over the place with different niches and subjects, through your experience, would that be good on a store or i should niche down to 1 niche for better conversion rate?

      Yes of course! you can do that... it's hard to build a brand that way.... but if you just want to get sales I think that is fine.

    I thought at you were going to show us how to make the ACTUAL texture design in Photopea, not make it in another program and THEN put it in Photopea....
    Oh well great video nonetheless!

    You can do all that just in canva. Why bother going to affinity or photopea?

      Canva can't remove a textured layer and it can't remove backgrounds within graphics
