    Capt. Mike I watched your Deep Drop Seminar and implemented your tactics in my set up last Saturday (25th August 2023). Fishing in 500- 550ft of water with my Brand New Electric Reel and rod set up. Used a nice big chunk of Bonito Bait on a 3 hook (Mustad #9/0 3X strong Hook) setup. FIRST drop caught a 30lb 6oz Northern red snapper (the 2nd largest ever landed on that boat). Thank you for your videos. The more i watch your videos and put into practice your methods, the more fish I am landing!!!.My rig was as you have shown here The total length of my rig set up was 6ft, each branch was 12" long (from main line to curve of hook and spaced 18" apart. First branch from the bottom was 12". This worked apparently!!!. On the 2nd drop I caught a 20lb Amberjack. I continued to land fish all day including vermillion snappers and more larger amberjacks. I have a question though. How long are your rigs and most importantly, how long do you make your branches (as shown in this video). Thanks a million in advance

    Hey mike thanks for posting this. I too use 40 pound braid. Up here in Jupiter we have lots of current and the small diameter line allows me to use 4-5 pound leads most days.
    Got my personal best snowy yesterday. Bottomed out my scale at 30 pounds!

    Capt Mike,
    What brand swivel sleeve do you trust? I see you in Marathon, we have the Whaler Blue Classic Rybo Runner with the tower and the 300r’s. Hoping to fish with you one day. I’ve been buying the mag since day 1

    That rocking motion stuff I think its called “righting moment” dealing with two different forces between buoyancy and gravity. 🤷‍♂️

      @@ryanmarshall2328 Hey Ryan, thanks for your input, would you rather use a lock knot or a loop knot to connect the rig to the snap swivel ? Good luck back at ya.

    Thanks Mike always great information...for a newbie regarding current do you know what the current is doing before you head out or do you just drift when you arrive at a spot and determine current at that point. On another note what app do you use for live radar weather or do you use a product on your chartplotter. Thanks for all the content and keep it coming!!! My brother and I are new to the lower keys and putting in the effort but it has been long and frustrating at times.

    Capt Mike, how much line do you let out or how far do u drift before bringing it back in if you don't get a hit?

    • @ryanmarshall2328
      @ryanmarshall2328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Albert, I’ve been doing this for years, so I think I can help. Once you drop down the rig, you want to drift until the spot isn’t under the boat anymore. And you will know that by looking at your fish finder and seeing the area is not under the boat anymore.
      Once you see the boat isn’t on the spot, best practice is to go and drift over the spot again.
      Good luck!
