Things I cannot fix. Cannot control. Cannot understand. Cannot explain. They are what they are and there is nothing I can do about it. That's where I ask God to change me. Align with God's will for me today. . .

Ooh ... How wonderful what wisdom from a man who it seems to me knows, knows the wisdom of falling and suffering and by the grace of God alone knows that something else bigger than ourselves is HOLDING us. What comfort! Even with all our imperfections all our dysfunctional attempts to save ourselves, all our resistance to powerlessness and falling, something bigger than ourselves loves us and brings us out (all unknowing) to the other side where love covers all. What a relief! Richard is certainly a Prophet of our time! I love his vulnerability and sharing of his own journey, its like Jesus is speaking to me personally. God Bless Richard Rohr, thank you God. Thank you!! Thank you Richard! 💓🙏💃xxx

Fr Richard you speak the truth , your work is good news for all and I say that as a non Catholic. I have forwarded this beautiful video to many of my friends and family. I was christened Catholic , raised Baptist , converted to Judaism and rejected all of that for Eastern religions. A journey of the soul that has brought me back to where I started.

Every time I read or listen to Father Richard I am reassured that it's ok that I am not enough because God is enough. For me, there is no greater blessing. Thank you, Father Richard for your humility and discipleship and passion for understanding and sharing with the world THE Truth.

An extremely insightful talk which resonates with the life I have and am now living. I am in the
second part of life and an elder and somewhat wise, not of myself of course, but that which
I call Christ Mind is operative and active now, beyond all my thoughts and hopes in the past.
It is the grace of God and I am truly grateful for your sharing this talk. Thank you.

As an 80 year old life-long seeker of Truth perhaps I am a wise elder. How would I know? It is my ego that would cause me to assume that I was such?
And as a person created in the image and likeness of Christ can I take the words of Jesus 2,000 years ago and now say something similar such as
"Jesus and the Bible says and I say" and share my own personal interpretation (according to my own past study) and (my own personal "inner experience" of peace and occasional bliss? )
Hard to put into words here, but this is a serious question i have had rattling around inside of me in recent years....

His book "Radical Grace: Daily Meditatons," ed. by John Feister, is an EXCELLENT intro to the wide & diverse spectrum of Rohr's thinking & spiritual vision. With over 400 reflections, it follows the the liturgical calendar, as opposed to the regular Jan-Dec calendar that most meditation books use. For his work w/men, I HIGHLY recommend "From Wild Man to Wise Man" (2005 Rev. Ed.), plus his "Soul Brothers: Men in the Bible Speak to Men Today" (& its sister work by Edwina Gately, "Soul Sisters").

    Elders to age 120.....

Nice to see someone expecting more from Christianity beyond a Children's story version with the Bible being only an arsenal of arguments.

  • @78LedHead

Perhaps Jesus did feel it and mean it when he said "why have you forsaken me" to the Father, but, and this is the wonderful thing about evangelicals, being the good Berean's they are, he's also quoting from Psalms. In that same passage Jesus is quoting, David is somehow transported to the foot of the cross, long before Jesus was ever nailed there. It's one of the greatest messianic prophecies. David prophesies the Roman soldiers casting lots for Jesus' tunic. It'll bring a tear to your eye. Jesus is quoting it as if saying "I am He that David saw."

  • @lsrcrft

The idea of what he is speaking about is just the oposite of relativism and subjective truth. He is referring to the realization of a non-dualistic understanding of life.

this guy represents the best of what Christianity has to offer - if you Christian and don't like it - it because your faith is dependent on external authority and your too scared to fall into the actual experience of life itself - that's the definition of walking dead

Yes, yes. I get it reverend. Rohr...But. What about those who fell and did not 'fall upward"? Those who lost it all , and live in the streets without hope or help?. Those who never even tasted 'the first part of life'? Children whom die without food in the streets of Bombay, Rio, Bangkok etc, etc . 70% of the world population seem in a constant fall only stay down. No god to lift them up. I can only hope 'GOD' will be there when they die...

My question for Father Rohr has always been: If you don't like Catholicism (and that is your right) why do you stay around and complain about it. I think the reason he sticks is that all his business ventures would evaporate if he separated himself from the Church. Father Rohr is a heart a promoter and a snake oil salesman. Anybody who can get a bunch of men to run around naked beating drums in the middle of the night AND get them to pay big bucks to do it is a 1st class con man.

I didn't like the idea of charging $120 to learn about spirituality in AA, when you can go to an open meeting anywhere and find out the same thing for free. However, as a "cradle" Catholic, I do find his mix of Catholic mysticism with non Catholic ideas refreshing.

    • @Stereostupid
      @Stereostupid 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

He doesn’t like Catholicism?but has spent the time and broken down the scriptures with passion and integrity to find the deeper meanings and teachings of Christ .probably the best besides Ted J. Nottingham in the past 30 yrs since Fulton sheen ..thank god the church has people like RR still hanging around in it.because it’s people like him that are bringing people back to the anointed one ☝️..if Christianity doesn’t do something soon it may as well shut its doors down..and that includes all westernized Protestant and catholic garbage watered down milk toast versions of this so misunderstood misrepresented teachings at the heart of the universe.the churches have their lowest numbers ever in history.its people like this that are bringing people back to yesuah .people that lead spiritual groups are teaching more of the truth than the condemnation and guilt ridden garbage of the churches
