As a retired medical doctor, former battalion surgeon (2/1 and 3/1)and regimental surgeon for 1st Marine Infantry Regiment, BSSG-9 det surgeon, it does not matter if you hit the left ventricle, right ventricle, pulmonary artery etc. All bleeding stops. A right frontal lobe shot is as lethal as a left frontal lobe shot as is a right parietal lobe shot etc, etc . . You cannot put a tourniquet on the iliac artery, left or right. That is why these are called "battle rifles". Patton remains correct, even to this day. One will never forget the sound of air rushing into the human thorax, left or right when punctured by a bayonet. I have two M1a's currently. I carried an M-16 in Viet Nam and it must have been an ok rifle or I wouldn't be here. Still, a great video. Thanks for posting. Tom CPL USMC(Viet Nam) CDR USNR (Desert Shield/Storm). As an aside, I'd recommend putting on a flash suppressor to which you can attach a bayonet (Brownell's). There are some really great M-14 stocks that have been refinished on Gun Broker. One never knows when a battle rifle might be needed. Jeremy, feel free to delete this comment on your end or ask me to do so and I will. Semper fi and Semper fortis.

I have a DD MK18 and BCM MK12. Both tricked out with all the best gear like some wanna be DEVGRU dude. L3 Harris PEQ-15’s, Geissele triggers, surefire suppressors, L3 quad nods on my ops core toque, NV capable eotech on the MK18 and Nightforce NXS on the MK12. Tin nitride bcg, among other nifty upgrades. Also have a couple other cool little range toys.
The M1A is by far my favourite by a significant amount. The SA M1A loaded was the first rifle I ever bought and built it up overtime. Some parts have changed over the years. I still have the normal polymer stock it came with, nice foam cheek riser, sadlak titanium scope mount, tin nitride gas piston, vortex razor gen III, accu shot bipod, sphur mount, threaded muzzle break for surefire socom 762 ti and trijicon rmr. It’s always been my favourite rifle to work on and shoot. It’s never jammed, runs dirty, wet, dusty or with minimal lube. it’s sub MOA and just and absolute pleasure shoot. It’s a marvel and I can’t say enough good things about it. With the RMR it quickly transitions for cqb, although not recommended. I’ve put thousands of rounds through it and she’s still brand new.
I also hunt exclusively with an iron sight GI capture KAR 98k.
Sometimes older is better. The fancy stuff is cool and may be good for a holy shit moment but things just aren’t built like they used to be. I like it more than the FAL and G3 which is saying something as I’m a huge HK fan boy.

Thanks for the review. I've wanted one of these so badly, and might pull the trigger on one soonish. Still having sticker shock, and will for some time. Especially if I buy a decent optic - which I know I shouldn't skimp on.

Why did you edit out that shot you pulled? And then covered it with a box of ammo.
Left edge of the paper you can see a shot appears in between cuts.
    Still though, accuracy is decent.

How did you get your scope mount to stay tight? Mine just backs off every shot.

What model Atlas bipod are you using?

I stopped shooting because my skills were pathetic and when you don't improve it's time to try something else. However, Springfield Armory makes one of the finest, smoothest rifles I've ever fired.

What height rings did you use with that venom?

Those are the low mount since the M1A is already pretty high with the pic rail.

3 rounds? That tells us nothing about the guns accuracy. Pure dumb luck could be the reason for that group.

This video has "sponsored" kind of vibes. I love the M1A but NOBODY has anything good to say about the optic mount as it fails so often... hmmm
