    I am a fan of DW, but my hope is that these shows don’t end up being the right wing answer to Disney Plus, where there are subtle right wing political messages infused. As much as I agree with DW’s politics, kids should be apolitical. They shouldn’t have an opinion. They’re not old enough. I’ve also seen some of the movies DW has produced, and meh. They’re ok. I’m still more likely to go to one of the big streaming services for things to watch. There’s still lots of non-leftist shows and movies being made. I also think DW woulda been better off starting with a “play it safe” movie like something based off a classic novel or something.

      That’s why its called BentKey and not DailyWireKids. Jeremy and Ben did a video going into detail about their intentions with BentKey and how it’s strictly entertainment and not going to be associated with politics or any hidden subs thrown in.
      I honestly think its smart what they did here and they saw the need and market for it so I hope it’s successful. 🤞🏻 It’s better than doing nothing. Parents don’t want to give money to big companies who have destroyed their trust so there’s the need. Yeah there’s content that’s being made with no politics involved but its starting to get more rare. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Even if there’s no left wing ideology thrown into a movie or show, there’s always subs here and there. Or those creators start producing or adding politics to their content later on. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I’m cool with it.

      @@LavenderLighttWell they already broked that promise by casting Cooper.
      Cooper isn't an actress she's a political conservative commentator. When kids are going to look up this Snow White they're more likely going to come across her politcal videos or be raised to have an attachment to her which will lead them into being more receptive to her talking points as they gey older. It's perping/grooming them to trust the Daily Wire politcal speakers at a young age.
      Similar criticism was made against Lucas Film not that long ago for considering casting trans leftist politcal commentator Philosophy Tube in a major in upcoming Star Wars project. A lot parents weren't happy with that descion for the same reason I listed above.
      I'm not saying Cooper can't act and be commentator for DW, I also dont hate her but if DW wanted to keep their promises about keeping their politics out of their children entertainment then should've casted an actual actress who didn't have politcal youtube channel.

    What you're missing is that if you have a DW+ subscription, you can already access it. I was grandfathered in. And if you don't have a DW+ subscription, remember that $99/year is only $8.25 a month. Since their catalog is small right now, someone without a DW subscription might pay $8.25 for one month, and then drop the service after watching everything. Ok, fair enough. But they will be adding more episodes every Saturday, and so they are clearly aiming to get the $99 upfront with the promise of further building the platform. They are hoping that in the early days, the income from new subscriptions will help fund more projects making the price worthwhile.

    It’s unfortunate I became aware of Bentkey because a certain Cartoon Reviewer went out of his to pay for the service, then (by ignorance giving him the benefit of the doubt) misrepresented Chip’s Odyssey (ep9) out of context, *then* claims it’s illegal that you have to contact Bentkey to cancel without an easy cancel button, and because of the latter is reportedly going to review Chipchilla next week, which with his million followings would get the most attention that Bentkey ever has but in a dishonest light. It’s sad a certain community is slandering and stereotyping "it’s gonna be filled with dogwhistles and they’re trying to replace Bluey" just because DW. They’re even heartbroken the wholesome Ernest and Celestine The Collection series is on in-their-minds-not-wholesome platform. Hoping Bentkey gradually does well in the face of "haters gonna hate".

      @@movieforceofficial Right now, there are 150 episodes and $99 to subscribe for the year, so less than $1 / episode. Assuming they add 150 new episodes per year, it's less than $0.10 / episode. If an episode is only worth $0.01 each, definitely not worth it to you. If you are used to paying $2 / episode like I do for some content, then it's a real deal.
      I understand your point, though. I don't play golf, so if I was offered a brand new set of golf clubs for $20, I wouldn't buy them, even though it would be the deal of a lifetime for someone else.

  • @DaltonLee3681
    @DaltonLee3681 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    The reason why they have that kind of billing process is because they rely almost completely on subscriptions. This is because they don't want to be in debt to other companies and organizations just so they can make more money, they want to be indebted to their subscribers. Because they're putting this stuff out here for people who don't want the identity politics forced on their kids. The idea is that people will see the truth and be inclined to subscribe and help them continue doing these great things.

    • @brandonporter550
      @brandonporter550 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think monthly will come, right now they need investment to grow the platform and the content library, and they have a lot of people willing to put up the cash for it, especially since its included in the DW+ annual subscription which is a bit more expensive, but is decent value for people who already subscribe to the DW. People like me only subscribe to the DW to support their movie making endeavors. I imagine once bentkey can stand on its own, they will restructure the monetization model to accomadate a broader audience. I follow the work they're doing in the entertainment industry quite closely and the intent is very much to keep bentkey non-political and story driven only, however right now the biggest push for non-politically charged content is coming from people who would be considered "on the right" (even though many people center and even moderate left are sick of the constant propaganda being injected into movies and shows these days), so it makes sense to draw funding from people who already associate with them in the market. Monthly will bring in more people, but you need more content to support monthly, and you need money to make more content, and DW is a private company that runs on cash flow, so upfront money is better, especially when you need to create/license new shows/movies, as well as improve the platform, etc.
