Mate I've had the same issue with a police person, Was driving a LR truck at the time not my normal truck but had my story book, oops sorry I meant log book and got into trouble for not filling it out.
This poor police officer had no idea on how to read it yet alone that I did not have to fill it out for the trip I was doing at the time.
Unfortunately je got upset when I had to tell him how to do his job😂.
Truck was checked over no problems found, I left with a big smile and thanked him and suggested to him to go find that car that went past us at 150k+

With all his years of experience the officer should have known that it was better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Yes - but with all due respects to the officer, that requires a modicum of smarts! Obviously missing in action for this fella!

I really dont know how you put up with their petty shit, that sort of constant harrasment is why i gave up a job that i really loved doing, I miss the driving and that type of work,
have recently retired and would like to contribute to the work force but not with that attitude they have.

I thought between 4.3-4.6 you didn't need a permit but just there is a strict routes you can take.
Or am I getting it confused with above 4.6m is an oversized load?

It used to be you had to carry the 4.6m height gazette, which was the permit, with you same as the old b-double gazette.

Funny eh how Stock trucks can be 4.6m high but not general freight , I loaded crushed cars at Mareeba back in 2001 , when he pulled the chain down with the forklift it cocked up the rear of the back car, went 5.2, he said will I take it off, nah mate it'll be ok, going to Sim's at Rocklea so turned off the Bruce Hwy South of Maryborough and came out onto Ipswich Rd and into Rocklea no problems , bypassing the Sunshine Coast bridges ,
