He was waiting for you to admit you made a mistake, and then give you a ticket. Cops, Vic Roads have been doing it for years. It's called fishing. Luckily, you knew the law and didn't admit anything which would of been audio recorded without you knowing.
The ole 'Book of Lies' or 'Book or Hopes & Dream's causes more fatigued driving and thus accidents than it'll ever fix. Yeah, OK, rest when needed etc but the # of people that say you must do the 6 hours (on BFM) without a break as it has to get there etc and the pressure put on drivers to do such. Add the speed limiter and you've got a recipe for accidents.

Log books are just like a cheque book to those blokes. You do need to know what your doing.
