What scatter tree fragment level is ideal?
If the boss has a horse, I should have a horse. Free my boy Torrent
Nah torrent would piss me off his moves attack to fast for torrent to be any help he would be hindering your ability to attack
@@calebmarchand2512the only fight torrent is useful for is fire giant and only very minimal
@@cdeo4l668good against dragons too
@cdeo4l668 idk man, I loved using him for dragons, tree sentinels and black knights
Seriously
they really gave the orphan a horse and put him in midir's arena
Bro my first time fighting him thats what i said
Except he isn't even half as difficult as them.
@@iamglued-so9mqhow did I beat midir and orphan of Kos no problem but can’t even get to phase 2 of Putrescent knight?
My problem with this boss is that I literally just miss every attack cause it just keeps freaking running away
Do not chase, it only makes it worse
@@coggnus9656 I finally beat it after like 40 attempts
Not just that, the hitboxes are screwed up for this boss. Even in the video you can see that one or two attacks should've hit but they didn't register
@@herrzyklon I feld that too! I managed to get behind him pretty often and all my attacks would wiff.
@@herrzyklonFr lol. All his attacks are so easy to dodge he’s just so annoying with how much he bounces around lol. I just kept laughing the whole time cause the fight was 90% us not even hitting eachother besides the blue flame
Miyazaki thought you liked the Orphan of kos, so he gave you Orphan of kos on a swimming horse .
That was my first thought when I saw his weapon. He also has fire now, and ice. The fight is pretty cool, he just runs away and hits like a truck
Well, I like orphan, extremely dynamic and fun fight once you master it.
Even the fucking horse screaming does damage
Was struggling for like 6 hours so i just switched to faith and shat on him
Im 4 hours in. I got him a bit below 1/4 but got too greedy
@@ripmyname3533 the bosses in this dlc are so stupid

TASTE THE POWER OF GOD MOTHAFUCKA
This guy backs up every time I want to attack… how fun
😂😂😂
Malikeths black blade has been doing wonders for me in this dlc especially here.
Dude same here!
How do you not get knocked out of your skill?
@@MarioZ i use the incantation at the beginning and i use the ash of war when he is focused on my mimic. Yes I haven't beaten any of these bosses without a summon but first off I want to beat them.
Nah man, the AOW on malikeths blade takes way too long. Ur mimic is carrying at that point 😭
@@KyoshinRed who cares if the mimic carries? It's in the game
Oh my god jumping the flame, changed the game. Thank you
You still get hit if you jump
@@apprentice_jedidid you not watch the video?
Yeah when you Jump the flame it still hits you. Did it exactly this way and still take same damaged
@@SalladSnakeno, if you time your jump you don’t take damage
@@SalladSnake An actual skill issue in your case , cuz you can definitley jump it😂
You’d assume fromsoftware would learn after making already making a boss that constantly runs away (Elden beast)
Yes more boss designs that give one chance to do damage and dodge 99% percent of the time
As a dryleaf arts bleed build.. I could not relate to this at all
The player in the video you are commenting on was constantly hitting him. This makes no sense. The problem is your skills.
@@108chapin not about skill, just not fun boss design
@@dannysummers4591 totally about skill. back to the asylum demon with you
Awful boss I am not having a good time trying to play fair against him
Oh my god I hate this boss. Whenever I tried to attack him he always ran off before I could hit and when he didn't his body is shaped wrong so I'd whiff. They looked at the deathrite birds, saw what everyone hated about them, and cranked all those aspects up to 11. Eventually I switched to the Siluria's Tree and spammed the Ash of War and killed him on my first attempt with it.
There's literally no problem with hitting those birds. They have more than generous windows for attacking, just untarget their heads.
Their heads is how you do damage.
Death rite birds are a hundred times worse than this boss
This DLC is so fucking hard if you use big weapons...
Gotta go for those large openings after large attacks. If you want to be more aggressive most bosses will whiff attacks if you roll deep into their side or behind them. Roll attacks are your friend.
The new holy great hammer (the one with the special guard counter) carried me through the DLC.
I did it with the meteoric ore just now. It was such a good fight it does crazy damage but also still adds to the challenge as you have to fight him head on. him and bayle I did solo, which I wish I did throughout the whole game made the kills way more satisfying, I just wasn't patient enough with the lion and messmer etc
Bullshit, I’ve been using the Fire Knight Great Sword which despite its name is actually a colossal sword with fire spear ash of war and it melted every remembrance and side boss I’ve fought so far. It’s big, it’s heavy, and it fucking nukes health bars.
I play a STR/INT build, and I thought big weapons aren't gonna work because he's fast. I was trying with Twinblades or Deathpoker and going nowhere. Equipped my Frost Hammer with Lion's Claw and melted him in seconds. He got staggered three times.
During his spinning attack there’s a point where the horse came from behind me😂I was like how is this fair??
For the spinning attack they both do just stay locked on and roll forward through both of them (two rolls, one for each of them)
The hitboxes for them are actually pretty lenient and won't roll-catch you that easily
huge tip HOLY is amazing for this boss
those flames really messed me up
this boss has just been added to my list of worst bosses in the dlc along with commander gaius, shadutree avatar, and any dragons that aren't bayle
Rellana's twin moon spell is really good for the second phase flame attack
I managed to time it perfectly to avoid all the flames while also dealing a bunch of damage to him
It pains me that the putrescent knight got a remembrance instead of bayle
Did you use his heart for spells or no Brittany
@@tree_sentinel_ghost nah, I was doing frost martial arts but I do have a dragon/ lightning based build I’m doing
I can't get past the laser worms, i hate this place
You can take them out with a bow, I have a video walkthrough coming soon
I had a lot of trouble too as a magic builder so I just got in close and meleed them. If you’re up close to them like right on them you can circle around them and avoid lasers. I took me quite a few tries tho
shield and run
I used bolt of granssax
Just run and dodge?
It took me 2 tries with this video. Thanks.
Yall are amazing
I did it! Thank you for the tips!
I started having an easier time when i realized for his half health fire circle attack instead of running away, just get close to him and jump
the sacred relic sword does a stupid amount of damage on this boss
I was getting frustrated here with my great katana struggling against his mobility, switched weapons, and absolutely melted him with the sacred relic sword. It made the fight hilariously easy.
You guys weren’t kidding. It melts this boss
Omg you are a genius! First try with this sword! 🥰
Whoever you are, you saved my ass. Sacred relic sword melted this guy
Don't got enough fp lol
crazy amazing video, he is soo hard when you dont know what he will do, but after watched the video once i beat him in 1 try thx a lot :D
Could you please do a build for the “pole of the bud” I really want to use it but it can’t make it good. Love your content
I swear the only reason i struggled with this boss was bc of his bs third flame attack that hits twice
Honestly my best tip is if you are a melee build try and close the gap on it asap otherwise get ready for crazy combos and delayed attacks. Also make sure you got some kind of magic/fire resistance cause it will start throwing out blue fire.
If you are a faith build going trough the area right before him you can get a Multilayered Ring of Light spell from a misbegotten leonine, which absolutely annihilates this boss. After the base game I was pleasantly surprised that holy damage in general was quite good in the DLC.
Thank you for this guide bro , shit became so easy
This did not help at all. Why does he get a horse that moves at these speeds while my summons stand on corners scratching their balls
I was struggling with this cheat of a boss until I watched this video, jumped back in and used the Beast claw hammer and dropped that fool. Thank you so much, this helped me tremendously.
I used that crucible knight flying lunge weapon art with a holy weapon. Worked great
The delayed attacks were really throwing me off. This is honestly the first boss I found to be too janky for me to adapt easily to. That and spirit summons get absolutely throttled by him.
Man I had doubts about holy but so far holy damage has been extremely useful
I didn't realize you were supposed to jump the flames... I just equipped the magicdrake talisman +3 and put the damage negation and status resist tears in my physick and tanked the attack lmao.
He was a headache when I first encountered him but pest threads actually came in handy there, they swerve fast enough to catch him on most occasions and he's big enough to take a beating from their repeated hits. Glad to know you can jump the fire, though. Didn't know that during those fights, I could dodge two but not all three waves.
So essentially be patient, dodge attacks, and hit when the opportunity presents itself.
Everything I struggle with, lol.... fantastic job on the boss though.
The worst part is there are 3 additional attack sequences not shown here. This video would be great if it showed them all
3:25 Nice guide showing when and how to dodge and/or jump. I'll be soaking this in before the fight.
knew how to dodge all his moves but the fire, kept running far back but i did it first try after seeing you do it lol
You can also jump through and over most of his attacks. And pro tip, Envoy's great horn's AOW does insane damage to him. Don't summon help because the allies can't get in until you're in the arena fighting him so they won't show up until you're a few waves into fighting him. Instead, use mimic tear. I did it at ST level 8,on NG+7. It was very hard but doable.
I seen his weapon and my mind immediately went to the orphan, it was then I realized they gave him a horse. I then proceeded to panic and say NONONONONONO.
To be honest - I thought this one wasn't too bad. He gives you clean hitboxes.
There is a bag in which you should do an attack while u are falling down after that the boss will stack at the place where he spawns.
Multilayered rings of light killed him so fast that I was upset I haven’t seen his moves so I came to this video to see animations xD
Orphan of Kos attack patterns maybe
It’s those fucking frost flames that get me
Fire knight greatsword build pls
Orphan of kos and Ludwig🤯🤯🤯
Gargoyle's Black blade is the way to go. Ive got it +8 and the special attack does massive damage. The jumping over the frost really saved my butt though. Thanks for the tips 👍
So this is what happened to the horse in "A Neverending Story."
It’s the fire the damn fire just gets me whatever tf I do
One of my favorite bosses in the DLC.
Some fun moves that are satisfying to dodge, nothing too crazy and you can figure them out pretty quickly, and some nice openings for even the heaviest of weapons to get some damage in. I'd rank him up there with Messmer.
Much better than Rellana who basically gives you no opportunity to safely hit her.
I have the fight down, except i cant get the time for the reverse flame and it keeps killing me. Edit: As I qas typing that, I realised I could just run past him and jump the flame thats facing me. Beat it first try
Ive done that god damn tree avater scudutree thing with 3 lives so this should be a peicd of cake.
Nice fight, struggling myself but I know i’m close.
I used the black knight twinblade with crucible wings and a greatshield. Guard counters punish his regular attacks and wing skill will float over his blue flames and close distance after his wombo combo. I wouldn’t call it easy but felt fun and balanced.
This boss is weak to strike damage and probably also has low poise. I was struggling for a while until I switched to a great hammer with lion's claw. With poise damage physick I staggered him with only 2 lion's claw. Add one critical hit and another lion's claw when he was getting up and 60% of his hp was gone. Note that I also had the dagger talisman equipped as my build was all about stance breaking and critical hits.
I don't know about low poise I haven't been able to stagger his once.
Waiting for the mother of fingers boss fight guide
Can you do a build for his weapon please?
It's about as weak to rot as it is to holy, if you can hit it with enough rotbone arrows/bolts when it first rides in the status should stay active for the rest of the fight, at which point you can keep hitting it with holy attacks for massive damage; I used Triple Rings of Light because they always seemed to hit it no matter how much it ran around.
Also, you can see where the ghostflame is gonna spawn if you watch where the putrescence it shoots travels.
Sooo...I went and fought this guy a couple times to get my orphan of kos ptsd back up...but after he killed me about 9 times I unord down to solo him. I summoned tiche as soon as I got down there and he hid in his cave.
When I approached he stayed there and his horse cried and someone sounded like they were talking?
Anyways he just stayed there with normal enemy hp and I killed him in 2 combos. So is he sacred of death night assassin or did he just give up on killing me?
This boss has the exact same weapon as Kos
I used guard counters it took me almost an hour but I did it. No buffs and no summons 😅
Blade of Calling + Mimic Tear helped a lot for me. I was already doing a faith/dex build, but that weapon's skill SHREDS him
I was struggling for a minute until I Put Sacred Blade ash of war on Milady and bro went down like a bag of rocks 😭
This entire DLC feels basically designed for shield players, having a sensible blessing level for each section and any shield with moderate guard boost makes most fights pretty chill. Just a word to anyone who is still struggling. It sucks to abandon a side arm but it will 100% get you through any walls you're stuck on. Not saying I agree with that design choice, but shields work so well that it feels like the intended pick for most match ups.
Took me a while to get used to his delayed attacks. I tried jumping over the fire but my timing must have been off, so I assumed it had to be dodged and rolled through. Really the only attack I could not stand was when he jumped off the horse and they tag-teamed, the dodge timing is just bizarre and I could never get through it. This was one of those bosses where when I beat it I did not feel accomplished, just angry. I tried holy grease on my quality build but it didn't seem to have a huge impact, I should respec to faith or something lmao. Had a level 10 scadu blessing, and on my last attempt I promised myself if I could not beat it I would leave it til I had a higher blessing level.
For the spinning attack with him and his horse all you have to do is dodge roll forward through both of them
When he starts it up he'll spin in place, and when he does just roll through him and hug behind him as he goes under
Then when the horse and him both pop back up roll forward through the horse, wait a second, then roll forward again through him
The good thing about that attack is it is one of his most punishable (I was able to get off a Wing Stance strong attack on him every time he did this attack); I'd recommend locking off for a sec and turning your camera around once you are going for the punish though, since the camera ain't the best in this fight sometimes
So you have to have range? I’m using a low int build
Always roll TOWARDS him, get a quick hit in and then repeat. The boss really isn't that hard if you do that but it took me like 2 hours to figure that out.
Bloodborne players are experiencing PTSD from the orphan of Kos
Try the sacred relic sword if you have it, it absolutely melts him
Man it was the blue flames for me. You can't outrun it and it always gets the last hit
Base Game Radahn set, blasphemous blade +10, Silver Mirrorshield +9, Staleart Horn +2, Mottled Necklace +2, Dragoncrest Shield Talisman, Spelldrake +3. This all won the fight for me.
I had to watch a guide to figure out how to dodge that AOE frost attack 😭
FOR ANYONE READING THE COMMENTS I JUST FOUND ONE OF THE BEST CHEESES FOR PUTRESCENT KNIGHT! I equipped the black knife with shard of alexander with a few buffs(any work). Then all you have to do is spam the blade of death ash of war on it. And it takes huge chunks of health out of him. Give it a try let me know if it works for you🤙🤙 Also great vid as always Fextra.
I was also wondering since the knife does so much damage is there any significance to why it does so much to this character?
I had to become a tank, Fingerprint Shield and a Holy Infused Long Spear
Ah yes dodge boss runs away jumps off horse shows things gets up horse tramples you, dead
fire does a lot of damage BB hits hard
Really like this fight. It’s wicked hard but his animations seem to make sense (maybe because he’s more humanoid than the Lion guy)…
But wow, I don’t know if I can forgive From for making what is essentially the st Trina boss NOT focused on Sleep.
Defo my new favourite boss. Not even close.
@@AbeHopwood because he was a pushover?
@@sneaky5141 nah, cause he's the only major boss I've fought so far that felt possible and that I didn't need a summon for it

Use the Sacred Relic Sword from Elden Beast and it 5 shots
Putrescent Knight is Radahns other Half like St.Trina is the other Half of Miquella.
He needed to leave his half to became Miquellas Consort.
Sick dude thanks for the spoiler
dude hes 1 hit im right in front of him and he does that quick straight blue flame without warning, 80% of my health down without any chance to evade it and ofc i whiff the next dodge right after making me die
I'm doing no scudtree run this such pain in the ass.
Love how everytime I watch a guide its basically just "get good scrub and dodge all the attacks perfectly" lol nah i wouldn't have it any other way, and his fire attack is what was smoking me so that helps
Waves of gold on sacred relic sword + 10 made this a lot easier.
Just use Multilayered Ring of Light incantation, you literally get it before this fight from the lion head spirit defending the grace before this fight. It’s hands down one of the best incantations, I 3-4 shot him that I was actually shocked
knew he was easy was just dying to the flames jumping really helps !! did 3rd try
Glad i still keep my +50 great star
All his side swing can jump over, That's what help me
Something about this dude is uniquely frustrating. It's like he's always in range to hit you at any given moment.
4 shot him with spear of the impaler. Just had to wait for the right moment and time the flame perfectly which was the hard part ngl.
I was so hilariously overleveled I felt bad. I beat him first try and annihilated his health bar.
Poor boss folded to some Comet spamming, I didn't expect it to end that fast.
Thanks! One of the harder bosses for me for some reason. Everything so far (Rellana, Frenzy Lord, Bayle, and Lion Beast) have been pretty manageable but the ghost flame attacks are rough one for me. Jumping will hopefully change that.
You had an easier time with Bayle? That's crazy 🤣. He beats my ass every time
@@silentascari2180 idk. Dragons and humanoid enemies are all something I am better at reading I guess? It’s the giant animals like golden hippo I have issues with. Interestingly the putrescent knight is the one who is giving me the most problems but it was mostly that ghost flame attack. The combos are manageable. Golden hippo is a close runner up for hardest boss so far though.
Update! Got him in just two tries after learning how to jump the fire!
