I remember seeing this video almost 6 years ago, a few days after it has been released, I didn't even have this TH-cam account back then. I was only 15 at that time and didn't have any possibility to buy it by myself, soI was pushing my big brother to buy it for me and he was like "Dude, no, you always want new games" I thought "lol he is so right, but just look at it"
He bought it for me since he felt kinda bad because I was so amazed by it. I gifted the BeamNG to my brother a week ago just for fun, he now understands why this game amazed me so much back in the day. He didn't care about collision and stuff at that time because he was more into stuff like TrackMania.
Now we often sit in front of the PC with each other and play BeamNG. It was really cool back in the day, since release it has always become better and better and I think it has the potential to become the best "Car driving Game" of them all.
Thanks for letting me and my brother have such a great time with such a nice game! :)

This + Oculus Rift + a chair that moves, bumps, and rattles with the game + a steering wheel, break, etc setup = the most realistic driving experience ever? I wish I could try out such a combination.
They actually tried beamng on the oculus and it sucked...

theagrafiotis Well, the point is that it's virtual. It's a novelty experience. I've obviously ridden in a car before, but I have never ridden in a virtual car that feels like a real car. I've never crashed into a tree at a hundred miles and hour or driven off a cliff in real life. Besides, I could use that setup to drive in racing games - an experience that I could not replicate in real life. Any game with vehicles in it would become instantly more believable. Man, I really hate when people argue "Why not just do that in real life?" Because the whole point is to not do in in real life!!!

This trailer along with the musical score gives me chills. At the time, this was truly a revolutionary creation that no other game company had accomplished. This changed the way that people looked at game physics and it could one day be used in real life situations.

And it really still is, there's nothing else with this level of dedication to detail, and phisics. The closest we have is assetto Corsa, and that only does handling simulation.

Thank you guys, for my childhood, this game...it just was such a large part of it along with Rigs Of Rods, I begged my mom to get this game for me. Was a mere 9 years old. Now being 16, still playing this game and seeing how far it’s come, how responsive and amazing this development team is it truly is a masterpiece from every angle and aspect. Bless and happy new year, I can’t wait to see where this game goes in 2020.

BeamNG needs to add back the old broken windshield texture I loved it
7 years on and this game has stayed true to its promises... realistic handling physics and hyper-real soft body crashes.

I know this a 6 year old comment but I feel the need to at this anyway . Next car game was never made to be like beamng . Even from the begining wreckfest has always been focused on arcade fun. Realism if for beamng not wreckfest . They are completely different games . It's good they are seperate from each other because they are both fun in their own ways . If wreckfest was more like beamng then we would just have 2 beams and that wouldn't be great
@@Squify69 I agree. I believe at the time of my original comment, all I had really played was the NCG tech demo. I now understand wreckfest as the arcade pvp game that it is, and am glad it's its own thing.

I have been following this project pretty much since the very beginning, it’s what got me into PC gaming in the first place. Watching this gives the nostalgic feels. Something like watching old family photographs - seems like everything is still there, on the surface things haven’t changed that much, but it’s insane how much everything has actually changed in these years

These are the greatest physics ever made in a game. Every part seems to be mentioned in the cars it HAS to be because if not those physics can't be done... Like the door popping open while hitting the rock

I'm excited to see BeamNG release a public tech demo out, as I've already seen gaming TH-camrs do their videos of the car physics already. The environments look fantastic to drive and crash into along with the soft body physics still being amazing. I'm still intrigued into what kind of game this will be. Sandbox sounds fine to me along with typical races rather than an intricate career or story. It's all about the groundbreaking physics in this game engine.
Seeing this trailer for the first time 10 years on, and, while I played the game pre-steam release, it's amazing to see how far it's come. To think I went from crashing a pink Ute into stuff in the demo in the OG Gridmap, to now using it to try and learn pacenotes and practice rally driving. Best game purchase I ever made, so much so I've bought it for a few friends because it's worth it, especially with BeamMP mod adding multiplayer that's really functional.

Please no, then everytime you get the cops on you or just regular driving, you would have to get a replacement like every 2 minutes.

This was the exact trailer that I saw back in the day for Beam. Instantly fell in love with it and purchased the game. Soft body physics was a new thing to me, and the way this trailer presented it just made it look so detailed and revolutionary. Looking back, I miss some of the older maps, but seeing how far that beam has come in the 9 years since release, I see why they had to remove some of the legacy content to implement newer content. It's really crazy to think that beam is coming up on a decade old. Really proud of the devs for the masterpiece of a game they have made.

Its amazing looking back at what this game was and how it has grown.
4 years on and it's still not finished but it's improving and it just gets better and better. Now we've got cars like the Hirochi Sunburst, Ibishu Pigeon, Gavril Roamer and much more. I love this game and would seriously recommend it. It's super fun.

"Enough BeamNG drive for today" i notice something and play for like 3 more hours.The game is really hard to put down,also i don't fear of ever getting bored,because even if i do,i know there will be an update,and if an update just got released,i can still download a mod.
