The idea that crashes are simulated so realistically that not only they look nigh indistinguishable when side by side, but the divergence is minimal even when overlapped. It's beyond impressive, this is truly a physics simulator above even the crumble zones are so incredibly realistic. Also the unsung hero of this video, YOU! Setting up these crashes to so closely resemble the originals must have taken an impressive amount of time. The game made the crashes work but you gave the initial state and it was side to side identical. Impressive, commendable work!
This is done so well. BeamNG turns out to be pretty realistic, but the way you so faithfully recreated the real crash test videos in BeamNG and filmed/edited is all really impressive.
The similarities are just impressive for the level of impact and damage for all those crashes. They fold so similar, they crush so similar. Some times the maximum appearance of damage seem to shift only slightly either way.. Obviously the real life ones have more debris separating from vehicles as smaller pieces fracture. It certainly shows how great the detail going into The simulation went. Though clearly they could also make circumstances hard to duplicate in real life as well with some vehicles dropping from high above like that. Still, it's a real work of art!

While watching the video, I literally lost control on knowing what is real and is in-game. Seriously great work done here and the accuracy of the game is amazing.🥶
The similarity is uncanny And a bit terrifying Scary how close it is to real life Looks like you just colourised the actual footage and changed some of the things from the actual clip Scary how far we have gotten in gaming From a dot on a screen bouncing from side to side, to realistic representations of vehicle crashes That's just mind blowing
not to mention the other realistic aspects of BeamNG drive. They simulate lighting realisticly, aerodynamics, suspensions, tire defemination/flexing, Road types and tire grip according. Like this game is thee most realistic driving sim out there hands down.
given a few more iterations and it will no doubt be used in industry too just like an old skyscraper game that now gets used by architects as it accurately shows how people move through a building :)
BeanNG is one of the most impressive games / phisics I know.. since it was released, nothing else compares to it! P.S.: Never use car mods on making these videos.. their quality doesn't represent half of developers attention on details over graphics or physics aspects.. ;)
I agree, that semi for example was a higher quality mod but any that aren't directly from the repository aren't great and even then the oem ones are always most accurate
Man these are pretty satisfying but yet so terrifying. Please drive safe people and pay close attention. I don't anyone to die this way but it happens.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this before but to me it seems like in BeamNG the main difference I am seeing is that the cars seem lighter / have less mass. I got to admit its near identical but the real tests seem to show greater damage in inertial tests.
It's because of the other things that arnt simulated in BeamNG like fluid spray, shattering of plastics, general dust and dirt being flung from the undercarriage. I think that would be to taxing even for todays best rigs. But I use to think vehicles seemed too "light" as well, but honestly the more you play and do different types of driving the more each feeling of the car is just right to weight. When you roll over you really feel like that should have happened because you exceeded the center of gravity's tipping point. You can turn on all of the debug functions to observe these things. High center of gravity car rolls over easier, low center of gravity car is really stable and hard to roll. Like for example I love rallying in BeamNG. To be specific in this case the Trophy truck rallies. Driving for over an hour in the truck as I'm bouncing along the dirt trail is almost 1 to 1 when I watch footage of real life driving, like the baja 1000. The only thing that isn't 1 to 1 is the particle effects. huge dust clouds and the car becoming incredibly filthily due to dust and dirt and mud. Another thing I'd like to mention is that I believe they do not replicate engine damage very well. Like it's better 99% of other games. But it's still feels like video game damage and not actual car damage. Most crashes I get into in the game I still can drive away with the engine running even when I know in real life that engine would be toast.
@@fastmadcow particles are simulated, just not animated for you to see. In the newest update, if you put it in ultra, you can definitely see mud flying, and even plastic bits flying off when you break your lamps. Its just veeeery subtle. And you will always have problems with how you feel the mass of the vehicle, because it has none! You cant feel the G forces pulling you while driving, so it will always feel weightless.
Realistic Driving =/= Realistic Crashes. This game is amazing as a technical feat, to be able to calculate the soft and hard body deformations to that degree of accuracy without burning your GPU and Melting your CPU is amazing. The driving in this game needs some work though but it's still better than NFS.

It's ginuinely impressive how similar they are. Shows you how good modern physics engines are. (Although the real crashes seem more elastic than beamng's)
While watching the video, I literally lost control on knowing what is real and is in-game. Seriously great work done here and the accuracy of the game is amazing.🥶
The similarity is uncanny
And a bit terrifying
Scary how close it is to real life
Looks like you just colourised the actual footage and changed some of the things from the actual clip
Scary how far we have gotten in gaming
From a dot on a screen bouncing from side to side, to realistic representations of vehicle crashes
That's just mind blowing
And this game is over 13 years old too
@@TopNoff It's 8, and has updated many times since, but yes, this is not new tech, tis cool.
not to mention the other realistic aspects of BeamNG drive. They simulate lighting realisticly, aerodynamics, suspensions, tire defemination/flexing, Road types and tire grip according. Like this game is thee most realistic driving sim out there hands down.
@@fastmadcow and in real time
given a few more iterations and it will no doubt be used in industry too just like an old skyscraper game that now gets used by architects as it accurately shows how people move through a building :)
BeanNG is one of the most impressive games / phisics I know.. since it was released, nothing else compares to it! P.S.: Never use car mods on making these videos.. their quality doesn't represent half of developers attention on details over graphics or physics aspects.. ;)
There are some high quality mods but a lot really arent
I agree, that semi for example was a higher quality mod but any that aren't directly from the repository aren't great and even then the oem ones are always most accurate
4:13 is my biggest fear everytime I drive on the Autobahn.
I usually don't comment, but the amount of effort put into the editing of this video is amazing. Thanks for the video.
can we appriciate the amout of detail this guy puts in?
This is,by far, the best BeamNG vid here on TH-cam! Really well done!👍👍
The fact that you can split the screen showing the same angle and it lines up 100% perfectly is highly impressive
Under-rated video. This mans work needs more appraisal👀🙏🙌
That’s freakishly accurate in most cases. Brilliant work. Well done
Woow broo! Thanks for your efforts for making this video! Deserve my thumbs up 👍👍
The level of quality in the production of this video is incredible.
Man these are pretty satisfying but yet so terrifying. Please drive safe people and pay close attention. I don't anyone to die this way but it happens.
I'm totally speechless with the accuracy we can see here.
Really really, REALLY very good job guys! All props!
That is *BLODDY* impressive! Thanks for making this video.
The editing is beautiful! Amazing work!!
@@jazz96765 Tu as le multi...
Realistic Driving =/= Realistic Crashes. This game is amazing as a technical feat, to be able to calculate the soft and hard body deformations to that degree of accuracy without burning your GPU and Melting your CPU is amazing. The driving in this game needs some work though but it's still better than NFS.
Using a wheel driving is virtually spot on how a real life vehicle handles.
So cool for someone to see the BeamNG crashes and then replicate them irl
Ahhh yes we can confirm BeamNG has better crash physics than real life.
3:16 God I miss Mythbusters
Holy schitt there were moments I actually wasn't sure if I was looking at the sim or the real thing. Amazing physics modeling. Gonna get this I think.
i love beamng but i was more impressed by your editing tbh, great job
Well damn, never realised it was THIS accurate.
4:00 This is one of my worst fears.
Honestly, seems like a reliable software for real world testing.
The physics of this game is phenomenal
Love the editing. Cinematic even. Good job
Well, if my school bus suddenly fell from the sky I now know that I’ll be safe in the back
Lol
I feel like beamng's biggest weakness are the lack of airbags and environment physics. things like trees, buildings and poles are not simulated at all.
Like one commentor said above, this game is still in the alpha stages and only one guy working on it. Cut him some slack.
wait its one dude? wow now I'm even more impressed.
@@HuntersMoon78 for real?? What a madlad!
@@HuntersMoon78 dont speak out of your arse
@@Frickolas was one guy,now its more than one, still impressive though, also simulating those would probably make someones computer burst into flames
3 years ago, my PC wouldn't even run this, now I can almost max out the settings on the same pc, really well optimized! Awesome physics, need a bit of extra work, but they're close to perfect m
incroyable video ^* enorme travaille bravo ^*
great concept for a video and well executed too, amazing video
Honestly great job remaking the original real life tests it's impressive
As a developer of beamng I can assure you that the materials used in making the cars were much softer that in real life.
- beamng
Beam ng developer plays roblox
1:57 theres no difference in that lol its literally the same, beamng is too realistic
Beau taf!
I'd say that the creators of beam ng have dibs their research and have done the best they could in making it realistic
Just imagine AAA games could use the physics one day
7:23 Adamantium ladder.
4:22 that's quite frightening...
This is incredible work - great video; great showcase
Dude, what great idea, perfectly executed. Love this video!
that is so fucking impressive
1:55 that part looks like real life
Bgg
I honestly did not expect it to be this close to real thing. Amazing work!
This is amazing. If you just focus on the cars, it's not always obvious which is real and which is BeamNG.
