Yes I agree on the social differences in our different age groups. I too see and understand exactly 💯 all you mentioned. I wish and pray more people will wake up and understand what is actually happening in our Country today. That greater good for all and everyone's a winner attitude is destroying us slowly but it's happening. Sadly so many people don't think for themselves anymore and that is the only way communism can and will take hold and never let go. Like you said it starts small and people are just all about "community" or to be a "part" of something. Then one day even those non thinkers will look back and say why and how did this happen....we were lied to. Sad but unless things change fast and hard it's going to happen.
It's already happening. It won't be Soviet-style. It is all about giving into personal feelings over and above anything or anyone else. When the singular takes precedent over the community, how on earth do you change it? When history is changed to accommodate avoidance of feeling bad, the road before society is beyond steep, it has become an icy, sheer cliff.
I think I’m going to enjoy Mercy of the Gods. I haven’t read the Expanse series but I think this Mercy of the Gods is a great place to start with these authors. I love plot driven character analysis with high arcs. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 💜
@Jess-pagesandgrace it is SO worth picking up! I'm not a huge re-reader, and yet I KNOW that I will be rereading this one over the years. I hope you find strength and comfort in its pages like I did.
@protagonistspub I totally agree! Our silence has caused the upheaval we have already and if anyone wants to be offended by your thoughts, that's on them! These discussions are important to have and I read some Soviet union communism books in September for a red September Readathon that gave me chills to see the similarities we are going into in America currently.
@@lindsaylou_lemus Have you read the bookends of the cold war, as I like to call them? Miss Graham's Cold War Cookbook by Celia Rees and I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys? There is another non-fiction I can recommend, although the authors escape me at the moment, Socialism Sucks. It is one of those must read non-fiction books I will forever recommend.
@protagonistspub I'm actually reading i must Betray You right now after I read a short introduction to the Soviet union. Socialism is awful and it blows my mind still to this day there are people who ignorantly think it's great. I'll have to check the other recs out!
I'm so happy that you're enjoying Dante! Aren't those videos from the Baylor Honors College TH-cam channel fantastic? Oh my gosh, like getting a mini-master class on each canto. I admit I have fallen behind, but it's easy to catch up. 😬 I actually have the Rod Dreher book in my Audible account but haven't listened to it yet. Tickled to death that you're _actually_ enjoying Dracula! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. 🦇

@lindsaylou_lemus Sweet? Oh how those spoiled girls of mine have the world fooled! 🐕😅🥰😍

That description is definitely the beginnings of what is happening now in America 💯💯
Live not by Lies ✅ I need to read this book 🙌🏾💯I enjoyed your thoughts on societal norms which aren’t normal
Everyone needs to read it. I look forward to your thoughts! 💜

Great discussion Tammy!
@lindsaylou_lemus Thanks Lindsay! I was hesitant to discuss it on social media, but the book is persuasive about the perils of silence.

@lindsaylou_lemus the bookclub discussion on it was fantastic, and is always available. I'm old enough that it was a memory for me, not historical. 😂😪
I've been wanting to read live not by lies for so long! Adding to to my nonfiction November TBR!
@@lindsaylou_lemus I will be interested in hearing how it impacts you.
@@protagonistspub yes! I'll check back in with you when I read it!
The Helene devastation is heartbreaking 😭💔 definitely praying for them and donating when possible 🙏🏼

Master class is the perfect descriptor! It is easy to catch-up thankfully. I am thrilled it is as enjoyable a read as it is.
Vampires are totally my thing 🧛♂️but I know Dracula would be over my pay grade...lol. classics are not for me. 😊 Great convo and recs Tammy!! Thanks
It reads like a modern novel, I'm floored to be honest!
