I was hoping they played this at the ten year anniversary concert of SSTB in Toronto, they didn't but played some other great ones. This is still my favorite.
@@Coheed2113allday they played a ton of my favorites, just not the light and the glass. But it was a till amazing. From wake up, elf tower new Mexico, welcome home and many more amazing songs.
I fell off the Coheed bandwagon some years ago but man I have good memories of this era. I'll never forget the way the teenage version of me felt listening to this song and experiencing the band live on a few occasions. Still get goosebumps when he sings "your father's dead, he passed in his sleep".
I know what you mean. I had fallen off a while back and am sort of getting back into them now. They're new music isn't bad or anything, but nothing beats their first three albums in my opinion. This was such a good performance, and it's a shame they don't play it often. I don't think I've ever heard a different live version of this song to be honest.
WOW, better than prince playing while my guitar gently weeps? better than stevie ray vaughn playing watchtower slight reprise? YO better than seeing coheed and cambria the whole band live?!!? TF you talking about.......
When I finally got my hands on the CD and DVD set for this album, my grandad had passed away. This song was constantly on repeat for me because it made me think of him and my Granny's relationship, so it helped me deal with death in the only way I knew how, through music. Coheed isn't just a band to me, they are therapy. I was suicidal around the time Good Apollo 1 was out, and the giant IV on the cover caught my eye so I picked it up out of curiosity, and to this day I know every word to every song on the album. After I discovered there was a story behind it all, I wanted to see where the story was going and picked up the first two albums after that, and have never looked back. Always on my Jackhammer, no regrets. Big ups and mad love to Travis, Josh, Zach and Claudio. You guys are the reason I'm alive today. Thank you for everything.
I'm so blown away that he hits those notes at 6:05. He has always had an amazing range but that literally almost made me cry it was so goddamn beautiful...Wow

I used to fall asleep to this DVD back when i was in middle school, this song was the one that got me to sleep and every time I hear it, it brings back a lot of memories, I love Coheed.
I love this so much, I literally watch it at least once a day. This song makes the days better and reminds me that it is worth living because of the people we love. That "Your Father's dead, he passed in his sleep gives me chills every time."
This is probably my favourite version of this. Granted I saw it live at Hevy Fest in '15 and it moved me to tears then but this one makes me weep buckets :)
This performance alone is earth shattering, but that perfect amount of effect and mix on the vocals.. is just.. chefs kiss. He didn’t even need the effects, but they are tuned in so perfect and compliment his vocals on this performance so well.. it makes this absolutely legendary.
Just to be clear, DMB is on my top 5 favorite bands of all time, along with Coheed. No knock on Dave. That’s how good this is. I keep coming back to it year after year.
The range and control @6:03 is spine tingling. I fell absolutely in connection to C&C’s music 20 years ago. My daughter will listen to each album as soon as she’s a teenager, just as I was when I discovered them.
Coming back to my coheed and cambria addiction i had as a teen 😊 almost to be 30 and the nostalgia i feel with this band is insane. Thinking of the good ole days ❤
I'm proud to say, from playing bass in a couple punk bands back in the day, this was my first acoustic song learned. I still know it by heart 11 years later. 😊
So glad this got to be recorded. That voice was one in a million then. Not saying its not now but we know he cant hit those highs as well these days. Coming from someone obsessed with Coheed.
You do kno the music goes with the comics.. It started off as a little boy so his voice was high pitched and with each album it got lower cos the little boy grew older. I love this band.. lol
Ladonna Welborn Thats just an association you've put together in hindsight. When youre younger your vocal chords and lungs aren't as worn out. If you have a source of him saying that then youre right but I don't think so.
This was the first Coheed song I ever heard back when In Keeping Secrets dropped. I was blown away and instantly became a life long fan complete with a Coheed tattoo. Absolutely brilliant performance and band.
How are there all of these comments and not one of them mentions the very clearly masculine dude shouting "I wanna have your children!!" followed up with Claudio's hilarious response.
Wanna know the magnitude and level of this performance? The crowd. Full attention, they barely wanted to harmonize. It was before smart phones, yes, but that doesn't take anything away. Lovely.
Isn't that crazy to think? Even though I've been a fan LITERALLY SINCE THIS CAME OUT, I still think of Coheed as a young band. I know the date that this came out, and I know how long ago it was, but it doesn't really hit home. But once you say "this was before smartphones" that really sends it home.
My kids will grow up to listen to coheed and Cambria music me and my dad bond over the music and other stuff but if I sing a lyric from one of the songs under my breath he’ll sing it to

Whoever was responsible for the choice of delay on the vocals absolutely nailed it! Really pushes this performances to another level.
I agree. I also enjoy the tone of the guitar. Sounds almost like nylon strings.
Legendary performance. Even if someone is not a fan of the CoCa, they gotta respect the passion this performance has.
I was here. It was the most perfect moment.
