From devon here, watched the video and I AM ENRAGED Not funny I didn't laugh. Your joke is so bad I would have preferred the joke went over my head and you gave up re-telling me the joke. To be honest this is a horrid attempt at trying to get a laugh out of me. Not a chuckle, not a hehe, not even a subtle burst of air out of my esophagus. Science says before you laugh your brain preps your face muscles but I didn't even feel the slightest twitch. 0/10 this joke is so bad I cannot believe anyone legally allowed you to be creative at all. The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm not saying this to be funny I genuinely mean it on how this is just bottom barrel embarrassment at comedy. You've single handedly killed humor and every comedic act on the planet. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky I still have the slightest of empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. We should put that joke in text books so future generations can be wary of becoming such an absolute comedic failure. Im disappointed, hurt, and outright offended that my precious time has been wasted in my brain understanding that joke. In the time that took I was planning on helping kids who have been orphaned, but because of that you've waisted my time explaining the obscene integrity of your terrible attempt at comedy. Now those kids are suffering without meals and there's nobody to blame but you. I hope you're happy with what you have done and I truly hope you can move on and learn from this piss poor attempt. Jokes aside, great video!
Hey Hawk, an option for GP status is that on the exit screen, it tells you how high you are dev-wise (not sure if it’s affected by institution). If you’re on the GP list AND within top 8 there it should be fine, and a potential solution to knowing if the challenge is complete or not as well
From what the wiki says you only need 3 light ships unlike most countries so it's easier, that's also a great idea and this event is also shared with Palembang and Rügen but the description is different from the one of Cornwall.
@@Rullino32 the one for cornwall is a reference to the musical 'The Pirates of Penzance'. one of their events is even a reference to one of the most popular songs to come from the musical 'modern major general', which very nicely gives you a naval reformer at 75% discount. From what i can tell though, the other pirate republics you mentioned are given the government reform as they had a history of piracy, or plans for piracy
Maybe for the sake of simplicity, when your overlord is a colonizer, then the goal should be to expell them from their original continent? So you aren't forced to go exploration and chase them all around the world
Oudh was apparently the main province of Great Mutiny or Seppy Mutiny - basiclly first indian independence war from GB in 1857. So as third optional goal i suggest to have a cored one province in England itself as little revenge 😁
16:20 It was painful to see that you had gone through the whole video up to this point with only a single accepted culture province. As for Oudh, you are in luck: Their cores are on multiple of the valuable Ganges Plains provinces, so they are a better start than 80% of the actual starting tags in India.
I think England having all that territory on the continent actually worked to your advantage. It kept AI France really committed to all those wars because they could easily take those provinces first.
You mentioned waiting a month to do estates but I found the other day that you can buy indulgence for free as a newly released nation if you buy without unpausing after being released!
I want a corn wall. Just a wall covered in corn. Have my entire house become eaten by birds. But hey, at least if my house catches fire I can enjoy my delicious popped snack before I burn alive.
Did a test on Germiyan. Choose lenient taxation policy (+1 diplo rep) Get a diplo rep advisor Grant ulema religious diplomats Improve relations with Mamluks Wait 5 years or so and scornful insult ottomans (no reason to do it immediately since the modifier decays) For the army strength modifier - build to force limit and be ready to hire mercs a few months before Mamluks peace out. Mamluks will fill up their relation slot, but they will likely have to break an alliance or cancel a guarentee by declaring on an ally of their allies/guarentees. The day they peace out and before they fill that relation slot, ask them to support independence. I got their support in September 1450. Ottos are currently at war with byz and about to enforce demands. I didn't declare yet but am pretty sure with mercs and some tactical save scumming I could win. I forgot to mention you can slacken twice. You start with 10% professionalism upon release
"Is this the worst country in E.U. 4?" The country that he talked about at the start of the video, which the red hawk said he can't get done: *Am I a joke to you?*
I think you should set a rule if your overlord is a colonizer that you just have to kick them out of Europe instead of full annex. Otherwise the iberian releasables are gonna be annoying.
Honestly I don't know why you need all those convoluted requirements for declaring yourself a great power, I think we'd all be pretty happy just seeing you on the list, doesn't really matter if it's institution modified or not
Well, institution modified is cheating a bit. Afterall, a human can forcespawn and embrace it faster than pretty much any country (except sometimes the nation who spawned it naturally). And it makes you dev look like 50%(?) bigger than it actually is in the Great Power calculation. But provided it isn't modified by embraced institution, I do think not counting position 8 is a bit arbitrary of a requirement.
You could do Germiyan with a bit of nation ruining. Release every possible vassal as osman, optionally return everything to byzantium, then release and play as germiyan and get the gang together to overthrow the osman overlord. Did that for my Saruhan achievement run. As that gameplay is pretty much the same with all anatolian releaseables you could do one of that and be done with the whole region
I like using "at least number 7 great power and a great power below you need as many institutions as you" as a way to measure when the run ends. It's an elegant solution
For Germiyan in releasables you should do nothing and improve realtions with Mamuluks and hope they will support your independence, they didn't want to in my first run, but in second they did, probably because they were bordering the Ottomans. If you royal marry the ottomans go restart. Once you get Mamuluks to support your independence you should either wait for them to fight someone in the balkans or declare immediately because they will placate your rulers to get you under 50 liberty desire. You may want to make a backup save for war just so you don't have to do a full restart if Mamuluk ai trolls you, also if Ottomans ally Tunis you should probably restart or go all in with mercs to try to hold out until Mamuluks deal with Tunis(although you'll probably go bankrupt this way). Once you win the war you should take Gelibolu, Constantinople, whatever you can in north Anatolia and war reparations and stay as far away from Mamuluks as long possible because you are still not strong enough to fight them and you won't need any allies because you'll still be surrounded by the Ottomans. After that you'll probably fight theodoro, crimea, georgia or circassia depending on their allies and then probably even more weakened Ottomans if Austria got Hungary and declared on them, otherwise you wait until Mamuluks declares on the Ottomans and if the Ottomans declare on you then mercs and debt it is, after that second war you should start looking for allies to prevent Mamuluks and Austria from declaring on you and the rest is up to you. Hope this helps and good luck.
Hey man, i get what u meant with getting Germiyan off the ground. but i got it done on the 3rde attempt. its a little rng based, but not inpossible. i got the mamluks to supp me when i impr relations w them. they took dulkedir and then they had enough reasons to help me. for the war i moved my capitol to Ankara( hills fort) and put defencive on, had tech 4 b4 them and went way over forcelimit w mercs, just to help the mameluks win battels. do whatever u can to not go bankrupt( at one time i had 12 corroption). i took independens and 2 provences (to connect to Cander and Ramazam)from them and gave 1 to mamluks to keep them. after that i could ally Hugary. 2de war was also painfull( they allyd QQ and AQ. took like 60% deal, cause mamluks wanted out. after that it was kinda okish, u still loose money constandly, but devving the reinissainse and selling it to the mameluks, taking war reps helpt keeping me aflout. sorry, i dont have twitter but do have discord if u want the save file.
To be fair, if you just 5 speeded from there one of England's provinces I assume is one colonising so they'd abandon probably, and then probably get eaten by a surrounding country. West Africans have been really good at getting the coast from the looks, and I can't imagine they'd survive hugely long in Cold Canada.
In my opinion reducing war exhaustion is a massive bait. I only reduce it if it’s already low, if it’s like 8-14 or even more there’s no point, unless you need it low so you can declare a new war straight away
Suggestion on how to count how you're a great power. Just see who are the GP's then go to the ledger and see do you have more dev than any GP individually.
You might have gone bankrupt because you had loans and you got fully occupied So the game calculated the new number of loans to some very low value that you were above As you were losing money you might have gone in the negative and thus bankrupted
If you play as someone else, completely dismantle the Ottomans and then form a much weaker version yourself, then release and play ... No, nevermind, that would be insanity.
Is it rule breaking for you if you release all the releasables as vassals under the ottomans? No clue if historically the various states/tribes were fully integrated under ottoman rule or still vassals. But having the multiple vassals will help weaken the ottomans.
Why don't you at least destroy army and click dev once or twice before starting with germiyan ? It's not crazy like if put them in bankrupt and It's only going to slow them down a little bit
You're lucky by playing this with 1.34, because now AI makes naval invasion much easier, doing this campaign as Cornwall before would have been impossible EDIT: you said the same at the end, nice 😂

Could force vassalizing and incorporating England count towards the goal in Releasables?
Oudh is a releasable in Jaunpur, but it is Shia instead of Sunni. Jaunpur loves to rival Bengal and Delhi, maybe Bahmanis
Could do a "Pay what is Oudh" where you set a goal of how many war reps you can have active. Could be an interesting way to play the nation.
