Red why don't you expand infrastructure where you dev the renaissance at dev 15 and 30? It's a good way to do it. As Algiers, you could do the Re-reconquista without forming Andalusia :)
Suggested goals if you play as Nitra: 1. End Hungary and culture convert all the Hungarian provinces to Slovak 2. Unite the western slavs ( basicly annex Bohemia and Poland 3. Disband the HRE
I like that we now have a face to the pain of EU4, however, my brain still can't accept that you aren't a literal red hawk in real life, lol. Keep up the good work.
Hawk, I played yesterday as Dali with the same rules and setup you choose usually for Releasable. I chose as Tier 1 gov reform the chinese Kingdom, which saves a ton of admin and overextention. My Ming AI went crazy and even made Timuritz one of their 16 Tributaries. I was able to get Oirat and Chagatai to ally/support my Indipendence which kept me disloyal enough to not get annexed. Around 1540 MIng attacked a giant Transoxiana and moved all their troops to the Persia region. That moment. I declared with my allies and was able to siege half of Ming by the time they returned. I chose Innovative and Offensive Ideas for additional Siege bonuses. Mandate started to drop and Ming kept only one stack to fight me. The others went to peace out my allies. With my allies out, I reached around 55% warscore to gain my independence and snake through Ming lands. Due to Tier 1 gov reform I got cores on everything I sieged, so overextention is not existing. Then its just a short wait and reorganizing your troops/country to hit on the Ming pop-outs. Great Power by 1570...
Love that you've got the face cam now, you honestly look nothing like I pictured you to (not a bad thing) and am glad to see that the channel is growing enough to warrant it. Play on, my guy.
I gotta say, a lot of times when youtubers I watch add face cam, it's jarring at first. However, Red Hawk's expressions add a lot to the videos. I used to have them on in the background, but now I want to see what he is up to. :D

If Dali really is impossible (as it appears at this point) then maybe get an exception to the nation ruining rule. Or maybe release another nation(s) from Ming as a friend(s)?
Here is the guide to surviving as Dali in releasables: For this strategy you have to save scum until your ruler has at least 12 mana points combined or you'll get integrated, and here's what you'll do: For estates: 1. Clergy land rights(this is necessary because you get more dev discount the more crownland clergy has),Religious state, Religious culture, Inwards perfection(you'll desperately need the dev discount) and Clericar advisory council (after you get one stability) 2. Burghers land rights(for loyalty), Land of commerce, Patronage of the arts, Free enterprise (after your first dev session so you get to keep them over 60% and you want clergy to have most influence so they don't lose crownland when you seize it) and Commercial advisory board(after you get one stability) 3 Nobility land rights, Primacy of the nobility, Supremacy over the crown and Aristocratic counselors(after you get one stability) Base strategy: Delete the fort, you need money for advisors, then you basically want to dev(+50% dev cost, pain i know) your lands as much as possible so you keep getting liberty desire also you don't need an army because the game calculates liberty desire from army strength based on your force limit and not how many you have recruited. You should spend your money primarily on advisors until you can afford them at level 2, you should also level up centers of trade for more dev discont(if you need money try to avoid AVOID loans and sell titles instead, because Ming may repay your loans and lower your liberty desire), then you should focus on building churches and workshops and slowly getting advisors to level 3 and then build barracks and regimental camps(you'll need the force limit if you don't want to be in debt after the war). Also EXPAND INFASTUCTURE at 15 dev (do it at 30 if you dev institution or plan on going above 34 dev in a province) National ideas: Take economic(obviously lol) and OFFENSIVE because land leader fire and shock +1 is huge when you have no army tradition and force limit and discipline are also good (take offensive first if your ruler doesn't make a lot of admin mana), then if ming is stabile take defensive(more about why in the war section) and if they are not stabile take Quality after that pick whatever you need because you'll probably beat ming by the time you get your 4th idea group Government reforms: Chinese kingdom(IS A MUST) Noble officer corps you really need free professionalism for the more fire and shock damage and to be able to slacken if needed and losing less army tradition is good too(you'll get close to 20 professionalism by the time you fight ming) Centralized bureaucracy Afterwards take whatever you want War: Get rid of inwards perfection right before declaring the war if you can, easiest way to do it is wait until Clergy loyalty gets around their loyalty equilibrium then complete estate agenda and sell titles, otherwise you need to take one heretic province from ming AND DON'T CONVERT IT UNTIL YOU GET RID OF INWARDS PERFECTION to be able to take enforced unity of faith for that 10% loyalty equilibrium You have two cases: 1. Ming is getting owned by rebels around 1500s Take burgher loans, then build back the fort in yunnan, then build a siege stack and declare on ming. If ming has released Yue then in the peace deal only get independence and a heretic province (if you didn't get rid of inwards perfection) and as much money as they are willing to give otherwise you want independence and enough provinces to reach the coastline so that you can go exploration if ming wants to defend their tributaries. 2. Ming is somehow dealing with the rebels and is super stabile Build forts and RAMPARTS on every province bordering ming and then declare the war when they have low mandate and build a siege stack(10 canons the rest are infantry to fill combat width) and just wait for ming to die to attrition beat them ever now and then so they don't occupy your forts and keep getting free warscore until you have enough to take what you want After war: Unify china CB is op and if ming released a few nations just conquer them with the op unify china cb and then keep beaing ming after your truce is over. If the ming was stabile just repeat the strategy until you are stronger than ming. In case ming goes colonial good luck with making them not exist. This will probably be the most painful campaign for you because not only do you have to dev with 50% higher dev cost, but you also have to avoid loans and you basically do nothing but dev for the first 80-120 years depending on rng. Hope i didn't miss anything and good luck
forgot to mention that if you are fighting at tech 10 or 11 you should have 4 cav in your stack becuse it's actually usefull then(50% more pips than infantry), but don't build them if you are fighting at tech 12 unless you have the money
For the next challenge as Algeria you have to conquer the south half of france and culturali convert them to algeri colture. He think it's enough painfull
Frequent elections actually shouldn't use up more republican tradition, btw, since re-election cost scales with number of years between election cycles
I don't want to sound rude, but I still can't believe it's actually you on a facecam. That dude in it looks more like a cartel hitman than a eu4 player.
I feel like after you play three different releasable nations (and make videos of them) you should be able to nation “ruin” the overlord of the country that you are struggling with. But you shouldn’t nation ruin too much, just enough so that way it is possible.
Flat manpower is the only useful manpower and is only useful early game. Mid game and forward it's literally useless, as you'll never even be close to empty on manpower regardless of traditions and other ideas. If you're not gonna play a full game, or going to play MP, or aren't that good with troop movements and tactics and will lose more, then OK go ahead and take quantity. Defensive is fantastic as a first idea due to the stacking of stats; discipline and morale will take a few techs to start snowballing due to them being percentage bonuses - however flat shock modifiers are incredible early game - while forts will be virtually unbreakable until nations start getting 4+ cannons in their stacks, at least if you have a fort capital or your forts. Morale is still great and will stackwipe and beat other nations much much much faster mid to late game, but again, discipline is better along with manpower if you aren't that familiar with how combat works; terrain, bonuses, modifiers, width, and so on - just beware your strategic campaign will take longer and be more difficult. You don't need loans as a pirate nation tbh. Maybe just take Gotland since they interfere, otherwise you'd never run out of money. Pirating/coast raiding is insanely powerful.
I find funny how hawk voice doesnt match with his face, for some time i couldnt even imagine a face for him to be honest, now that i know hawks face, he reminds me of a guy from my school

Algiers is invaded by France most of the time. You should invade france before they invade you. Secondary objective is do a Re-Reconquista.
You HAVE to raid and scorch earth on Philadelphia as Algiers.
For the meems bro for the meems
Destroy tunis and morroco and conquer all the mediteranian coastal provinces and islands
More piracy! And be friends with Portugal because they're outside your effective raiding range except Ceuta
Red why don't you expand infrastructure where you dev the renaissance at dev 15 and 30? It's a good way to do it. As Algiers, you could do the Re-reconquista without forming Andalusia :)
The primary goal when playing Rügen is always make Gotland not exist so you have all the money by yourself.

Here is the guide to surviving as Dali in releasables:

3 Nobility land rights, Primacy of the nobility, Supremacy over the crown and Aristocratic counselors(after you get one stability)
Base strategy:
Delete the fort, you need money for advisors, then you basically want to dev(+50% dev cost, pain i know) your lands as much as possible so you keep getting liberty desire also you don't need an army because the game calculates liberty desire from army strength based on your force limit and not how many you have recruited. Government reforms:
Chinese kingdom(IS A MUST)
Noble officer corps you really need free professionalism for the more fire and shock damage and to be able to slacken if needed and losing less army tradition is good too(you'll get close to 20 professionalism by the time you fight ming)
Centralized bureaucracy
Afterwards take whatever you want
War:
Get rid of inwards perfection right before declaring the war if you can, easiest way to do it is wait until Clergy loyalty gets around their loyalty equilibrium then complete estate agenda and sell titles, otherwise you need to take one heretic province from ming AND DON'T CONVERT IT UNTIL YOU GET RID OF INWARDS PERFECTION to be able to take enforced unity of faith for that 10% loyalty equilibrium
