Guys the fix for bo2 multiplayer : First sign out of your account, load bo2,go to local and start a game then end it right away,then go to play online and it should work
The problem for me is when I start bo2 it loads for a second and then my ps3 completely stops befote it finishes loading and I can't do anything except stare at a frozen screen loading screen and turn my ps3 off
Edit: I know this is a ridiculously long comment!! My ps3 bit the dust during quarantine and I was reallllyyy bored and. Read it, don't read it, it doesn't matter. My ps3 is still in great condition, I take great care of it; always making sure disc is clean before inserting, always running maintenance through safe mode when a problem arises, giving the console frequent breaks throughout days when I'm gaming a lot, I even have a mini fan that I use to keep consistent cool air flowing around the PS3 (trying to prevent overheating), and deleting old save files often as not to bog down the system. I'm even careful with how I save my game progress, I only create new save files, very rarely overwriting because the lump of files bogs the system down more. I disabled autosave for many things on skyrim such as after load screens, etc. I try to keep the dust from accumulating in and on the system. I'm doing everything I know to do, but when I play Fallout New Vegas or Skyrim it ends up freezing at random times, which often corrupts save files. At first I thought it was the system overheating after long stints of playing, as I said I use a small fan to keep it cool. Then I thought it was happening when the system gets overwhelmed (for instance while loading large DLC like solstheim, or when a cluster of enemies have spawned and a lot of stuff is happening at once) but my PS3 has frozen during the calmest of moments during a game. In other words, it will freeze while I'm simply walking down a road, no enemies or other NPC's being spawned, etc. It doesn't seem to matter what is going on in the game, or how long I've been playing for that matter. Many times I have only just powered on my console and I will have played for a mere 10 minutes, then BOOM it freezes and I'm not even able to access my menu by pressing the PS3 button, so when this happens I can't quit the game and return home. I have to boot it down by hard shut off. Which obviously doesn't help matters. On the same note, sometimes I can tell when a freeze is imminent, because the game will begin lagging & glitching quite a bit. In this case, if I sense a freeze coming, I can occasionally override it by pressing the PS3 button. If I hit the PS3 button on the controller soon enough, sometimes it prevents it from locking up. Though sometimes this doesn't work. I have gotten to the point where, if I notice signs of a freeze about to happen, I will save the game, quit it, return home, power the system down, give it a few minutes, and then reboot. Usually this prevents a freeze from beginning. On the other hand, sometimes there is absolutely zero indication that a freeze is going to happen. No lagging, no glitching, nothing indicating the PS3 game will lock up. I am worried about losing my game data. I take good care of this console, maybe it's just old and getting tired. I recently had to factory reset it due to a Trojan malware that had made it's way onto my system. So the only saved data on my PS3 right now is from skyrim. I lost all of my hundreds of hours of game data after the reset, and only recently had the time to begin a new skyrim play-through. So this system is not loaded down with data, it's pretty bare to be honest. Though I already knew how to access & use safe mode, I still appreciate the video! I hope we can all find the proper solutions to our issues, and get back to our beloved games!
For me when i boot up it takes 30 minutes to properly load. When it does if i switch accounts it completely freezes or even without switching so i have to hardly turn it off wich made it worse now i have to go thru a few data rebuilds before properly booting up and it still freezes. I got it 3 years ago and havent used it too much for 2 years. And i mostly use it to watch youtube. I ocassionaly used to play a few games. Mostly gta 5 and cod ghosts/advanced warfare.. It was all fine until yesterday when it just stopped. And when i boot up a loud sound is coming from it. I opened it up it was the disc reader making noise. I fixed it but it still freezes. And i cant even think to afford a new ps3 a ps4 is way out of avaliability for me to buy it...
@@SanelaMehinovic You can still save your ps3 though. I bought a second hand fat model 8 months ago and like within 5 months, GTA5 began to stutter so bad and lagging. So what i did is simply backed up all the save data to my pendrive and bought a new Hdd of 7200rpm. The issues are completely fixed! Also, it is recommended to clean out the dust from both surface and the inside and change the thermal paste it will help to cooldown the ps3 while gaming. Agree or not, the PS3 is a legendary console and people are still paying for it

It only works for a while. You play a game, and it adds data in the hhd as you play, and then you have to do it again. You need to delete data that you do not use from the console hhd.
Well this sucks. I only have the wired controller and it says I have to connect my controller but I can't do that because I can't technically turn it on because it's wired

I tried maybe 5 times, but could not get past that point. Luckily I have another PS3, that is newer model, there it works just fine. Some testing tomorrow because for one thing, I didn't install the update on the newer model. So I'm doing that first and sed if it still works :) Older one is now 10 years old. My first thought was that is the driver slowly dying on me 😳

Didn't help me the only game that's freezing my console is black ops 2 it freezes during the intro cutscene and i have to hard reset my console everything else works fine this only happens with bo2 i played it the other day with no issues idk what happened
So if I downloaded games they are safe, because they had me do this once and the license for my Silent Hill was obliterated I have the game, and they wanted me to pay again for the license, unfortunately it was bought a year before at 5.99 and I never saved the receipt although you can't tell me they don't know I paid for it, of course they do but they screwed me on it. Their disc drives suck ass. Every playstation I own doesn't read discs easily, not like nintendo or xbox, I never have those issues even with my ancient gamecube.
The mumbling in the first part threw me off with how many times to hold down the button. Even with subtitles, what subtitles catch it isn't very clear.

Yeah. Minecraft froze every time after 10 minutes of play. But it's a slim. We've had it since 2007 and it is the demoted family console. The wireless is dead and it doesn't load sometimes. Poor PS3. 2007- 2021

My game silently crashes by looking like its still running but then I cant do missions, I cant switch characters, and if I die I get stuck on a infinite loading screen. I cant even get to missions before it does the discrete crash

There's several videos explaining the Bo2 freeze glitch 1. Sign out of PSN before you open up the game 2. When bo2 opens, press Multiplayer 3. Before you login to your account, open up a Local game. Start the local game and then quit 4. Then you can connect to online and play

Didn't work. Dissabled it. It was very dusty. Assembling is still on going. If that doesn't work, it's probably the disc drive getting old.

This may indicate a hardware failure mostly your hard drive is mostly failing

I did both of those things, and my ps3 is still freezing after 2 minutes of playing..

It kinda worked not really when I load up Black ops 2 now it doesn’t freeze on the loading screen but now for some reason it plays the cut scene and I can’t skip to the menu button. I have my hand pressing against the start button on my control and nothing is happening. When the scene is over it just shows me a black screen and I’ve been waiting for almost 30 minutes for the main menu but it’s still black and idk what to do at this point I just want to play zombies

There's several videos explaining the Bo2 freeze glitch
1. Sign out of PSN before you open up the game
2. When bo2 opens, press Multiplayer
3. Before you login to your account, open up a Local game. Start the local game and then quit
4. Then you can connect to online and play

I dont know if it works im doing it right now because i play driver San Francisco but when i did format it deleted it so i tried to download it again but it freezes in the installation

I recommend backing your save game and playing the game.from the start to see if its the.game
