You need to understand what your schedule is. Time of day for your travel will have wide variables in temperature. There are many things that you can apply to your skin that will keep water from penetration. Your clothing needs to have redundancy, In my experience if you have room for extra boots, which is a big ask, but staying dry and warm is life and death and if you are traveling in a northern most route across the Dakotas and Washington, snow can happen and rain can create serious hypothermia conditions in minutes not hours.boot covers and a quality rain suit should be part of your gear before you leave. A small travel size Vasoline can be rubbed on and off glasses and helmet shield and it will keep water and fog from building up..I did @7 hour days and camped and did hotel, motel for a body recharge and laundry, bike cleaning, inspection and maintenance..I don't ride much at night and in the north part of the United States you should expect wildlife to be standing on the highway.
