There hasn't been a single player at our club in DECADES that gets even close to the sheer quality of this man. Sheedy is a TRUE legend, what a genius of a player. On his day, one of the best in the world no doubt!
sheeds.....you were my fave player in a blue shirt....that left foot was world class....maradona or stoichkov or robben would have struggled to replicate what you did with that magicians wand of a left peg.....luton town fa cup u won that...and ipswich double free kick.....love ya sir sheeds....Coybb
Legend, Genius, use whatever superlative you want out there, but what i will say from a personal perspective i watched this man vy is trade when he was at his peak as a 1st Division Left sided midfield player, and when fully fit this man was a very special player indeed for EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB for afew years in the 1980s, and i don't choose those words LIGHTLY!
In the many decades I watched the Blues from 1960 Kevin, in my opinion, belongs to a select group of players who where match winners who delivered when it mattered. With Trevor Steven on the other wing the blues were identified very early in the 1984-85 season by Jack Charlton, after his Newcastle side lost 3-2 at home to the blues, as potential champions due the the balance of the team. Most other pundits never held to same view. Why managers in later years, save Joe Royle,, didn't seek that type of balance to try a create a team to challenge for honours is unfortunate for today's Everton fans.
Important notice. Hereford is definately NOT in south Wales (or any part of Wales) 😊 Remember a very young Kevin playing for HUFC in the late 70's, in league division 4 as it was called then.
