Writers you do a great job of making us truly Dislike the antagonist good job. However, you don't seem to know how to contrast the Protagonist. Stop allowing the protagonist seek approval, being a push over, overly kind and considerate and worrisome. The protagonist is weak and pathetic quite cringy. I understand you're building growth but its hard to do in 15 to 20 minutes, find a balance between caring but firm, helpful but not a doormat, or put themselves in danger for others. Quite simply stop allowing the protagonists setting themselves on fire to keep the antagonists warm.
