You never doubt that they love each other deeply. It's a different type of chemistry, for sure (but what would be the fun in telling the same story again). They feel comfortable with each other, with being themselves when they're with each other, which is so beautiful. And there's consent, which is really sexy. Colin accepted his feelings for Penelope by episode 4, faster than any of the previous male leads. In less than 24 hours, he declared his feelings, fingerbanged her, immediately proposed, saved her from Portia, they had sex for the first time (in a more intimate and joyful scene than most sex scenes before), and she got pregnant (in her first time, and their first time together). Beautiful chemistry.
The thing that bothers me about Edwina is that she literally never actually listened to a thing Antony or Kate said. He continuously said he was not looking for love and then she was hurt when he couldn't tell her he loved her. Like he never planned on falling in love with her or anyone. Kate also told her multiple times he wasn't looking for love. She was extremely naive and childish in my opinion.
But it also works the other way around… she made it clear she was looking for love, so why did he keep chasing ? And seeing how adamant he was about her, I don’t blame her for thinking he might actually end up having a thing for her

Y'ALL *MUST* DO THE QUEEN CHARLOTTE SIDE STORY MINISERIES! ...and that 'almost pinky grazing in passing thing' is total Shonda... she made it iconic between Fitz &: Olivia on Scandal-- the boys & girls loved it so much, it was inevitable... then later on the Michonne & Rick Walking Dead 'Love Story' miniseries, the writers evoked the hand on heart bee scene from Kate & Anthony for a love scene between Rick & Michonne, when he had anxiety
the scene with the king is just a little tease for the queen charlotte show/season! you guys shouldn't miss it if you keep watching! it also gives the tiniest bit of context on lady danbury and mama bridgertons friendship happening in season 3

The series is actually not being historically accurate on weddings. White wedding dresses with veils did not come into fashion until after Queen Victoria was married in a white dress, which was after George III and Charlotte. Also, Kate's mother died and her father remarried Mary and Edwina is their child.
@40:09 you raised a great point that I always bring up to this debate that still goes on reddit. This is where the writers messed up Edwina’s character. Even more than Kate, their mother raised both daughters to find true love and Kate helped raise Edwina while the mother was in distress. There were no other alternatives for a woman in those times except to get married and Edwina was genuinely excited about it. She wanted a prince or a Duke. But Kate said don’t look for titles go for love. Edwina was like nah I want a title. Since there were no Dukes or a Prince, Edwina went for the Viscount 😅 so the whole “ your dream, your plan” speech was all bullshit. The only reason they came to England was to get Edwina the dowry from the grand parents so they can all live comfortably. After the wedding was cancelled Edwina is like oh I don’t believe in love it’s all lies. But girl you never believed in love in the first place, you only wanted the title 😂
yes, totally agree when she accepted anthony's proposal...she said I'll be your viscountess. She also said....He is the one i want...the viscount. his family, his home, the life he offers. But i still like Edwina, she was just a young lady in marriage mart season.
