  • The GoToob+ is a TSA-approved liquid container from Humangear for carry-on travel with liquids. In this review, we also cover the original GoToob vs the GoToob plus. View Our Full Review: packhacker.com/travel-gear/hu...

    0:35 - Material & Aesthetic
    2:32 - GoToob vs GoToob+ (GoToob Plus)
    5:12 - Durability & Testing
    7:32 - Pros & Cons
    8:18 - The Verdict
    In this review, we are checking out the GoToob+ liquid travel containers from HumanGear. For the Pack Hacker veterans out there, you’ll probably remember our old review of the original GoToobs-this is the next iteration, and they’ve made some nice improvements on their original model. Let’s check it out.
    One thing you’ll notice right off the bat is that the GoToob+ comes in a bunch of different sizes and colors. There’s kind of a ridiculous amount of colors, actually-so if you’re really into customizing your toiletries or you want to match these to your packing cubes, you’re in luck.
    While you can organize your liquids by color, we really like using the label system that HumanGear has put on these. Organizing by color sounds great until you’re up at 4 AM, getting ready to catch your 6:00AM flight. “Okay, the red one is face wash. Or wait… was it hand lotion?”
    The GoToob+ also come in a variety of sizes. There’s small, medium and large (1.7, 2.5, and 3.4 ounces, respectively). We’ve mainly been testing the 3.4 ounce size as that is the maximum amount of liquid you can carry on a flight. We’re into one bag travel here-checking bags is literally the worst-so we’re going to stay away from the larger, 6 oz size. This could be a useful size for camping or something, but we haven’t personally found much use for it. Maybe you could fill it with pancake batter and make some cool pancake designs?
    And if you are someone who likes having tubes of pancake batter on hand, you’re in luck because these are all made of FDA approved, food-safe silicone. So you actually can put food products in there… If that’s your thing.
    The GoToob+ is a nice upgrade from the original GoToob, but still shares many similarities. Major upgrades include the use of food-grade silicone, a new LoopLock™ system, and a nicer labeling system. While many users have reported durability problems with the caps, we’ve found that as long as you’re somewhat careful you should be okay. At the end of the day, these containers do a great job of holding liquids and preventing leaks-pretty much everything you want out of a TSA-approved liquid container!

    GoToob+ - we use these as our main travel bottles (for all liquids, including hand sanitiser) and the caps on the newer models seem to be working a whole lot better. No leaks, none of them have broken or cracked. Just wish a wider range of colours was still available (as we colour-code based on contents rather than labelling them).

      @PackHacker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your system with us, Epp-Kristiina! Color-coding your GoToobs is an awesome way to stay organized when you're on the road. Glad to hear they're working so well for you despite the lack of colorways currently in stock.

    I've been using Humangear GoToobs and the GoTubbs. Wouldn't travel without them. I've been using mine since 2013 and they still function as new.
    If I had to choose which one I like the most I would choose the GoTubbs. They hold a lot and seal even tighter and are very easy to clean. I use mine for hair products I need to dip my fingers into.
    I appreciate your review. Now I know I can just keep the ones I have!😂

    Thanks for posting, I really enjoy your reviews! I've used the 89 ml (3 fl oz) GoToob for a few months now and I am really satisfied. Have yet to encounter any problems with the cap as mentioned in the review. The product works really great and fits perfectly in my transparent and TSA approved carry on washbag from Osprey. Ziplock bags are a thing of the past now, right? :)

    I don't get why companies don't make these square or rectangular so they take up half the amount or room in your bag. Ikea is the only company who seems to have figured this out.

    Had a set of the + toobs for a few months fro REI. Rubbing alcohol has been stored in one for several weeks. No issues yet. What I do not like about the new dispenser valve is how much pressure is required to get anything out. Usually ends up splooshing a large amount of contents all over. I’ve used four + toobs for alcohol, witch hazel, Bronner’s soap, and a moisturizer. Inconvenient and sloppy and impossible to get a small amount without taking off the lid. Which is just silly. I’ll be going back to my old squeeze bottles that have the ancient lift up tube valve.

    This was great, but it would also help if you mention the actual specific TSA rules for liquid carry on. I found out that one can bring a quart bag full of these gootubes. Do other countries have other restrictions?

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Matt - we've found that this can really differ depending on which country you are visiting or leaving so we always recommend checking with the guidelines of that specific country. I love the Gotoob+ the only problem was don't use moroccan argan oil in them as it burnt through the bottle. I didn't send it back as it wasn't worth the postage. just bought another one as these are excellent. I also use the small and medium round containers and the spoons.

    Seems like a totally generic product, just like the other 1000 similar. Why don't they make the effort to actually design them to maximize space efficiency and ease of packing. IMO it should have a flattened rectangular shape - rectangular to maximize space use, and flattened to fit into those plastic pouches.
