Few years of listening to Ram Dass’s and Wayne Dyer’s teachings and doing my best practicing it. I feel I’ve changed a lot for the better. Awesome. ❤️

Ram Dass is a reflection of what India's great masters like Neem Karoli Baba, Ramana Maharishi, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda's and others have said, that spiritual self realisation is not the preserve of any one religion, and the true Self is one and universal. It should be added that the Indian Rishis explored this true Self much before anyone else, and in far greater depth than anyone else. All the western psychological research is like kindergarten texts compared to Indian Saints' research into Self and consciousness which is like a PhD thesis! Ram Dass has the advantage of having a modern education at the highest level, and at the same time the blessing of a great Indian sage like Neem Karoli Baba, to explain the depth of Indian concepts of Self and consciousness vis a vis the superficiality of modern material science. I can see how a simple Indian sage has transformed a western materialist into a self realized soul. His humility, that beautiful smile of complete satisfaction, peace and joy, is infectious and makes us feel peaceful. Thanks, Ram Dassji, for spreading such pure love.

In our society, aging is a pathology. It’s seen as a failure, there’s something wrong and we don’t really see the person anymore because they don’t awaken an awareness of attraction or desire in us. You don’t have any power and you are our future that we are afraid of, so we’ll send you to beautiful places where you’ll be happy. Feels like “Brave New World,” and we’ll cast it through media such as Happy Faces in Modern Maturity Magazine…. “I’m so happy living in this senior citizen community!” It’ll show all these beautiful dentures, forced by the lobbyists for denture makers. Oh, God, it’s so macabre, you can’t help but laugh.
      -Ram Dass

The smile on his face tells you more about what he is saying than the words themselves. Be here, in this moment, for it is the only place you can possibly be.
I've seen that smile on others' faces too, on Sagan, and Leary. I think it's definitely the smile of one whose doors have been opened, with (shitloads of) acid or some other ecstatic experience.

in all compassion and from the , as best getting there get out I and say as if for Ram Dass. He Loves you so much. ANd i would be sure as i knows, he knew the moment that you left the room that day, it would be on your mind and keep you , looking and finding the , Truth he was only found in his own Guru, after Maharaj showed him his Guru and we are all The Guru.
I say He is right here when you are right here. He is always smiling and i feel them all smiling. brings tears of joy. yep. SUre that's my truth, if y6ou were wondering. Ram Dass, knew the minute you left. Everything was going to be alright.
He never worried about it, but knew it'd all be fine. That'd be my, as I really feel kinda there, now- as i was listening as i dreamed and we were, like all cruising around Maui getting some Hawaiian burgers and going surfing? or something weird I can barely recall the dream. :P Be well. I mean basically I woke up to this or another Ram Lecture interview. I love him as well never met in the body. Om namaste' Douglas.

I don't know if there is any significance to this, but I felt compelled to comment about it. @ 25:36 the interviewer asked, "Is it possible, without a doubt, to know the difference between good and evil?" I immediately had an answer come to my mind which I knew, at least for myself, was the right answer: 'INTUITION''! .. But when I heard Ram Dass give this same answer, I felt like this was more than coincidence. That there is a very specific reason why I am here right now and hearing this! Maybe this happened as a way to give me assurance that I am on the right path. To remind me that my belief in my own intuition is more than my belief. It is my 'KNOWING'!

Ram Dass' beauty is eternal and on going. But, no religion, philosophy, or person is the final destination when it comes to loving awareness and connection to that which is greater than us in the present.
I respectfully suggest that we as a people, as human beings, begin to study the purpose of hierarchy and what effect hierarchy has upon us as individuals and as a species. If we begin to really study hierarchy we will find many things that we assumed to be true but may be somewhat different.
For example, perhaps there really are no levels of understanding but rather, understanding is like a banquet table on which many, many plates of food are sitting. We can choose to select from as many plates as we desire without the need to rank them or think of them as part of some hierarchy.
Our ego created the idea of hierarchy and it serves us the purpose of learning how to survive. But, we can also choose to grow in other ways apart from the need for hierarchy and in those other ways we can find and manifest love.

Ram Dass with you and Maharaj Ji inside. And thank you for physically going and meeting in the, ATMA all we are PARABRAHMAN, as we are ATMA all the time we i are is am i too much for many yet to want, desire I want to be i, for the good stuff. Thanks Ram, Thank You Maharaj. Jesus, and Abba Father is that ATMAN is ABBA Father Holy Spirit , The Absolute. be well in surrender, gets Samadhi. Much after there maybe one or two but i seem beyond deep slee, in the dreams and while well all night after Maharaj, Ram was his frequencies of the voice airing as the mind was aware in a state of sleep and dreaming not deep sleep neither as now maybe awake in this state and plain; where sleep deep sleep and awake happen. Om. Then in the One state of meditating, and letting go all thought. As I know to tell here I do not know for I am trying to tell? Trying to tell that's a good way to put it. If I told "i doesn't know " I don't know I AM can not be I AM . I AM is ATMA is everywhere as PARABRAHMAN, and the PARABRAHMAN is not a person more the who and the everything imaginable that can be in as the whole construct and dimension portals etc. i say this message is very- may self destruct. I am being very, transparent and that comes across to many as crazy. so
Explaining the unexplainable. Be empty, shove thought(s) all aside let go cease be empty thoughts come, shh, shh, shh, empty I am shh. shh shh(ing the thoughts away sometimes, when i got there i was not there , no mind can be present in I AM This is why we i mind is no not God God is within each.
Not as a I AM a Child of God, no I A THAT I AM, and where is i is absolved, and there simply is no anything. ALl I goes and time goes with mind goes I AM goes all and what remains? where is anything when all is, not but all in making up the , being that is creating bodies and worlds of expression from its all ALL entire formless and immeasurable indescribable SELF
    I AM THAT.
thanks Ram Dass. Maharaj. Jesus. Maharishi. and I know today's living few that are sharing. Right now a student of Maharaj, and or Maharishi isn't he, I keep wanting to say John or Stephen. I like another seems I thought he was something someone more like? There with Ram Dass? or not seems they were are together alot in my spirit consciousness. Spirit Consciousness, maybe caps for me emphasis the Spirit ATMA(N_) Higher consciousness caps yeah why not annoying. Love You Ram Dass. maharaj. Jesus. Buddha/ Siddhartha Gautama, etc etc etc... Maharishi Good God Lord Lord My weeping inside happiness and the rest, ego, today is , election results finally yesterday now what's going o happen, in the , shadow dream realm, huh? who cares. Om ALL IS I AM THAT I AM. be well. Om Namaste' everyone, now.
    Jowe!
    I AM.
i does not know I AM, as space does not know awareness. I AM THAT I AM . :P Thanks Maharaj Ji. Thank you channel, all One in consciousness. The ABSOLUTE SUPREME CONSCIOUSNESS. I AM THAT I AM
PARABRAHMAN. What am i , where is i? Am i the food i eat, the water i drink(s) am I the thoughts? nigh / no./

Roles emphasize the ego! Omg i get it now. Gender roles, sexual roles...a reason the gay community was so despised and feared (at least originally) was cuz they were a threat to the ego, which is subservient to Greed...thus they were a threat to Greed (many were anti-capitalists in the 70s before they died in the AIDS Crisis in the 80s and 90s...how perfectly coinicidental, but i digress). The spirit is subservient to Love. These are opposites, greed and love. Greed is capitalism, greed violates boundaries, greed exploits, greed enslaves. When we apply labels and roles we hem ourselves in. When we do this we begin the reaction to confinement and restriction but if we fail to understand how our egos were initiated again...we will embrace the roles and repeat an insane cycle of embracing the confinement while refusing to be confined...all of this done instead of embracing the present moment and simply choosing the "next right thing" for that present moment. We have seen since the 90s how labels (more roles) have "developed"...now ib the gay community we have "bears" "otters" "femmes" "masc4masc" and many others. Yet these things have not brought gays closer, it only creates division. It hems us in because there are expected behaviors and attributes instead of truly allowing one the freedom of endless possibilities.

@@BhaktiFestOfficial sorry, the internet makes me forget that the people I'm talking about might actually read what I write :( I was expressing a feeling that I have had for quite some time, regarding Ram Dass but also others: I'm afraid that too often, "disciples" will turn their "master" into something he/she's not, based on what they want them to be. Often after his or her death, but often even while they're still alive. Turning a living experience into a feel-good religion. And with Ram Dass, I feel like he had to accept a lot of what happened around him and surrender to it because of his condition. But I'm sorry for having targeted this general impression and frustration at you personally. Thanks for keeping his legacy alive!

+Scarlett O Hara : You sound young and...can't put my finger on the right word... naive? Spiritually green? Not only was this man over 80 (born 1931) during this interview, but he'd suffered from a somewhat debilitating stroke some years before. Given all that, he was speaking fairly articulately AND succinctly (a rare combo in most people's communications, I assure you) . Cut him some slack, will ya?? (And yeah, I see the irony of my own communication being not-too-succinct here, but you opened a can of worms by dissing one of the great psychedelic/spiritual thinkers and speakers of our times.)
NOT easy, verbally conveying the concept of "being love"...being a constant, undiscriminating loving presence wherever you are... or the idea of resolving one's incomplete past through love instead of more "intellectual" means such as forgiveness.
I'm not only a great fan of Leary, but actually visited him at his house the year before he died with my then-boyfriend. Tim and I chatted in the kitchen for a good while--about the brain's capacity to physically grow as the mind expanded conceptually...among other topics. He was still quite the animated communicator! But I'd have to agree with Jay Rich... While Leary did great at describing/manifesting new possibilities for people to consider and experimenting with different communities/groups (which all helped expand and elevate human consciousness), Ram Dass sometimes comes across like he...well, he either delved deeper into the universal/cosmic soul and reached godly states of consciousness, or he was simply better at communicating from that enlightened state. Anyway, they're both awesome in their own way!
On living in the present: "Stay in the moment, appreciate the moment...go into it. If you go delve into the moment, you come to spirit." [as opposed to living in the mind dwelling on the past or the future]
On not being afraid of death: "If you're afraid of death, you're not going to be in freedom in this life. Everybody who is [lives] in the soul knows they're not afraid of death."
Now, THAT point, I've managed to get to and it's pretty liberating indeed!
BTW, can you please point out one or two of his "constant contradictions"?
      Namaste, Baby!
