Only my second session being a marshall at Churchtown Caravan right after K-tree. The bike smashed into the wall in front of us and Davo slid right after. He came to a halt, opened his visor and yelled: "no red flag, no red flag!". I was really impressed with how soon he came to his senses. When we lifted him into the helicopter he was already cracking jokes asking about how old the helicopter was. Maybe the pain relief? What a different built man!
So glad he's still smiling and in one piece. I would give every single one of them a medal, very brave and exceptionally skilled men at the pinnacle of their exceedingly dangerous sport for sure.
So glad he was ok. Glad he's back racing but he was brilliant when he was in the commentary when he missed it through injury a couple of years back. Definitely has a future in that when he's done being mental. 😂
As soon as he got squirrelly, the camera guy started filming grass. Brilliant. Most camera guys follow the action. Don't see total fails like this often.
We all love to see the skill and bravery of all that race the TT, I think I speak for the 99.9% that don’t want to see anyone hurt or worse. Great to see Davo get away with little damage, proper Aussie TT character.
Can only echo what many others have said - massive respect, all you guys have massive cohones, skill, and bravery. I know my limits and they dont even get near yours !! Keep on ridin'.........
Yeah, I once tuck the front and ended up hitting the ground like a WWE slam. I thought I broke multiple ribs too. The Doc said I pretty much sprained ever muscle to rib connection I had....Oh man, if I sneezed or laughed, or even fart during those next few weeks, I was almost in tears....speedy recovery, Dave.
Done the exact same Davo, take time out watch the birds and the wind the trees, watch how perfect it is, take time, weigh up your future. Be alone and think a lot. You’ll be ok, our short time here is valuable , are you worth more riding or working on bikes, doesn’t matter if you are happy.
If you get a tank slapper, DO NOT TRY AND GRIP & HOLD ON. RELEASE & LET IT SHAKE ITS HEAD. Gripping put the shaking through the hole bike which you cannot control.🤫
Technically, a tank slapper is an uncontrolled, unplanned oscillation. If you have time, you can stop it by (a) not fighting it, and (b) taking the energy out of it by getting off the throttle and allowing the bike to slow down. At IOM speeds none of this works because there is no time.
@@spaceflight1019 you should open the throttle to stop it, closing the throttle makes it worse by putting more weight on the front, powering on takes the weight off the front and stops it.

David Johnson, “built Aussie tough!” 🇦🇺👍
Glad your fit to fight another day!
One very lucky guy, As somebody has already said, I hope he bought a lottery ticket after that !!
Heart of a racer, soul of an Olympian, mind of a contender.
All Hail Mr. Davo Johnson!!! 👏👏👏🖖
Total respect for Davo ❤ Cheers from Greece
Great coverage. Terrifying, top rider split second decision saved his life.
Absolutely. I think the reflexes of these guys is what separates us from the road racer. 💪
They're made of different stuff these fellas. He'll remember that apex/section next time round!
Thanks heaps for this! I’ve been worried about my fellow Aussie .
So glad Davo is ok!
I was standing 100 metres further on in 2015. I saw Davo have a very similar tank slapper
Davo is a legend, always great to see him race at the TT!
OMG, that was not a "little" nothing. So glad Davo is all good. Wow.
So glad he's still smiling and in one piece.
I would give every single one of them a medal, very brave and exceptionally skilled men at the pinnacle of their exceedingly dangerous sport for sure.

Davo, you are an Aussie legend, mate!
Davo's, shit'o pants'o moment. Glad he's fine. Been a good year(from what I've heard) of people walking away. 👍
So glad he was ok. Glad he's back racing but he was brilliant when he was in the commentary when he missed it through injury a couple of years back. Definitely has a future in that when he's done being mental. 😂
good to be seeing you.

Bet you have fun at airports...repair ASAP DJ❤
Glad your okay mate. Damn Aussies are tough as nails. Cheers from Texas
Did a James Whitham track day at Anglesey and Davo was my instructor. Top,top bloke. He got away with one there though.
Come from Alberta Canada to watch you warriors….I thought Bosnia, Croatia, Rwanda, and Kosovo were rough….glad you’re ok, God bless.
That set-up almost got him killed....
God Bless that man. Live your life.
That's one though Dude - and what a great attitude to racing and life - big respect
Lucky dude*
That was scary! Thank goodness he was able to walk away.
Top man Davo, good to see you smiling + best of luck!!!
Can only echo what many others have said - massive respect, all you guys have massive cohones, skill, and bravery. I know my limits and they dont even get near yours !! Keep on ridin'.........
That one was a scary one! I mean, they are all scary on the Mountain Course! Glad your ok, Davo! Saw the tankslapper and thought that's it.

The Doc said I pretty much sprained ever muscle to rib connection I had....Oh man, if I sneezed or laughed, or even fart during those next few weeks, I was almost in tears....speedy recovery, Dave.
We were there at conker trees and saw this happen. Horrible too see but so glad you came off OK at the end of it. 👍
Hope u r well davo . U had luck on your side that day
150-160mph ffs! Not many make it that crash there! Nice to see him up and cracking jokes 👍
K tree is a fast as section. 😮Glad to hear you got off lightly Davo.
Hope ur at the Classic 😊
Fast and bloody bumpy!
That was the worst footage unless you were trying to film that person's arm
Speedy recovery i love how Davo said the tank suffered he flattened it with his chest we all love our bikes what a great guy 🏍️👊🏼🍀
Looks like he didn't land the front wheel straight and after that he was a passenger
Get wellsoon
Great to hear you ok 👍 hell of a loose snap 😮
Wow ,davo...you lucky lucky man so glad your good 👍
I’m glad he’s ok I love the racing but don’t want to see riders hurt .
These guys are different 😂😂😂
great to hear just a wonderful person.
Tank slappers suck, but I digress...
Glad to see that he's OK. That's the most important thing!
Legends all these guy's....why K Trees not Conker Trees ?
One of the trees has a K painted on it, where the kerb sticks out
Because Michael Dunlop famously painted a K on the tree. K, for kerb, where it sticks out!
Breaking your collarbone at the TT is lucky, I broke my collarbone after falling over my cat and that’s just embarrassing 🙈
Ah fair dinkum
Why do folk bother filming stuff like this if when something happens they go all pear shaped, just watch the show ffs
The 4th time he's broken that collarbone? That's OK then - it was already distinctly used.
Its always the setup of the bike when they crash or dont win

Lucky man 😮💨
Gutsy
Tell him to buy a lottery ticket 👍
