just installed on my 2010 Silverado and the upper control arms are bottomed out. should I just cut the stops off or try some aftermarket. i just dont know if it will give or be enough slack.
Nice video! I wish y'all could have added tire and wheel specs in the description above would have been of great help, especially for those wanting to have this same setup. Thanks again for taking the time to show us all the install.
How about the part with the tie rod, he says spin the stud which on anyone I've ever done you loosen the nut and use the stud to key it from turning the whole thing. Not the opposite like he states.
Great video! I’d like to have a 3” leveling kit installed on my 2018 Silverado (2wd) but have been told I may need aftermarket control arms. Is this true?
I upgraded my 2016 GMC sierra to a 2019 chevy z71 20" wheel with 33x12.5s. Trim the rear of the front inner fender and you wont have any issues with rubbing. Also installed the Rough Country upper control arm, KYB strut assy and the Dirt King alignment cam kit. My shit is ROCK solid and ALL of the work was done with a 2 ton floor jack and hand tools. Don't sweat it.
In case anybody watching is wondering if you should follow this install video, don’t. Use a torque wrench for god sakes especially when dealing with suspension! Every bolt has a specific torque it needs to be tightened to, if you don’t have one you can rent one for free from most part stores. Not doing this can cause warping prices, stressed bolts/nuts that run the risk of snapping shearing or stripping and honestly just find a different install video
Anton Kravt I have 33" tires (295/60/20) with a 3 inch front and stock in the back. Runs perfect no rubbing. I will probably do a 1" in the the back just to even out the level a little bit
Was this spacer kit for the factory steel lower control arms or aluminum? I have steel arms and was told I need the lower spacer kit but some people use upper spacers too.
If you want to keep the rear of your truck higher than the front, I would highly consider looking at a lift that includes either a 2 or 3" spacer for the rear instead of a 1" like this kit provides. -Zach
@@genemounce8302 are u asking if 3 inch in the front and then remove the factory block in the rear will make the front higher? Or leaving the factory block in the rear? Either way I just did the 3front 2 rear kit on my truck. I did the front one day then took it for alignment the next day and then did my rear and yes just doing the front spacer will make it higher in the front then in the rear(squatted Slightly) but there are ppl that will remove the rear factory block and just allow the spring to sit on the rear end to lower the rear about 1 inch if u are asking about that then it will be way lower in the rear then the front.
I’m having trouble installing the upper ball joint back on. Any tips ? I pry but the upper arm doesn’t allow me to go anymore due to the frame being in the way
Use a jack stand about 3 inches lower than your jack and place a block like a 6x6 under your rotor, then lose your jack slowly so the frame rest on the jack stand, the weight of the frame and the block from the rotor will push your lower control arm up
@@sylvesterbahnam6573 save money and get the 3.5 lift knuckle kit from rough country if you use the other one you will have to replace a lot stuff in a year or less
It's not the smoothest ride but it's not horrible either. If ur the type to hit every pothole in the road don't do this to ur truck. This does make the uca max out close to the droop stop and excessive hitting will cause the balljoint to snap or cause the camber to constantly be thrown off.
You could absolutely just get a rear leveling kit! Check out the following link! -Zach www.americantrucks.com/supreme-suspensions-1-pro-billet-rear-lift-blocks-0718-silverado-1500.html
Everyone talking bout upper control arms but ain't nobody said shit about the CV joints. As in the angle being too much and having premature wear on them.
Why would you want 1" rear leveling blocks when the truck already has 1" blocks from factory! you want a 2" lift in the rear so that will give you the extra 1" lift, you probably know that but dont sell your kit as a 3" front & 1" rear level because thats misleading!
They are 2” blocks. They advertise it as a 3” Front 1” Rear kit which which it is. I learned the hard way, I ordered the motofab 2” lift blocks and they are actually 3” for a 2” lift over stock
personally I wouldnt do more than 1.5 - 2 anymore is hard on ball joints. 2.25 - 3.5 even with the rear blocks makes you look squatted in the rear when driving.
Damn, not a torque wrench in sight. This shits dangerous. At least mention the fact of how important it is to have everything torqued to certain ft lbs.

Yes
Very true if not your truck would ride very stiff.
upper and lower control arms or just upper ?

Would you need to do a four tire alignment after installing the rear blocks ?
You may not need to worry too much about the rear by itself, but I would highly recommend an alignment any time you modify your suspension! -Zach
