The best videos and workmanship on TH-cam simply the best
Regards John the joiner
Thanks a lot!
A job done right! professional, sturdy job, looks beautiful!! Thank you so very much for this video! I missed my calling - I would love to be able to do what you do!
Thanks for warm comment!
Great Video! A question about the nail gun - Are nails still necessary if you glue the planks? Are the nails/nails holes visible on the plank?
I am using 23 Ga nails. This holes not visible. Nails needed, to avoid nose moving before glue getting dry. Thanks!
I am doing the stair 3/4 thick solid cherry hardwood, should I use 16 gauge or 23 gauge to secure the tread with glue? Thanks
For 3/4 better 18 Ga.
@@MrYoucandoityourself Thank you!
You make it look so easy!! I have a question. Don’t you have to stagger the planks? Or this doesn’t matter because their are glued? Thank you!!
Hi Lidia Maria, Thanks for your question! There was small lending, and hardwood flooring boards was good enough for precut for full length. But , usually I do staggering, off course.
MrYoucandoityourself
thank you!!
You are welcome!
2 questions. Do you need to nail the side of the planks as done at 3:05 in the video or is it enough to nail on top. Second question for hard wood in an expansion gap necessary and how much of a gap is needed.
For solid wood you need expansion gap for laminate or engineered wood not necessary. Nails on side I put just avoid sliding boards. It's up to you. Thanks for your question!
You are the man! Great teacher and leader. Congrats on all your success my friend. Question: what Ryobi gauge gun is that?
Hi Christopher, thanks for warm comment! There is 18 Ga gun. Now Ryobi made 23 Ga. I love this guns. Now I am not using compressor any more.
Thanks for vid. Questions... *1.* When installing do I have to install the landing edge first? Does it matter if hardwood planks are horizontally or vertically aligned to the landing edge? *2.* Can I _only_ use glue to fasten the wooden planks to the landing's subfloor? *3.* How much gap/space do you leave between the landing floor and wall?Thank you again!
+bigpussy2010 1. What is an edge? If you mean a riser, so yes. You should install it first. 2. Glue is more stronger than nails. 3. You should leave 1/4 gap.
Can anyone answer how to treat the very top landing, one were you would step off onto the second floor? I think any laminate you put on the treads would alter the tread height on the last step and be out of code. Is there a work-around?
I f all steps the same height, it’s not a problem
Hi! This is what I’m trying to do to my steps but we’re so I find the wood floor you used for the landing?
Hi Reyni, for landing I used same material like for stairs. Nothing special. Thanks
MrYoucandoityourself hi!!! Did you listed? My stairs are done is just the landing and that cover I need for the landing. If you have a link Were I can buy them I would really appreciate it.
What tool do you use at 4:00 to measure steps? thank you

Why not use flooring adhesive on the tread pieces? Not strong enough?
Hi, just it cost less. Thanks for watching and commenting!
so nice
Stone Liu Thanks!
What product is the wood
I don’t remember brand, it’s brushed and painted white oak engineered hardwood floor.
Was that Ryobi airstrike a 16ga finish nailer or 18ga brad nailer?
18 ga
I'm thinking of getting the same one. How do you like it? Also how is this install holding up?
This gun is very good! I like it so much! Holding up is fine.
Where did you purchase the wood?
From hardwood flooring suppliers. We have many of them in my city.
Does the 18 ga gun leave big holes, do u fill them after?
Hi, yes, 18 Ga leave big holes, and, of course, I fill it up with filler. I prefer 23 Ga.
Instantly stopped watching when he just started putting full pieces right after the other on the landing
Thanks for watching and commenting!
what color is that wood??
Black.
