  • O'Sullivan plays fantastic snooker at the 2019 Masters. His performance against Stuart Bingham and Ryan Day makes audiences euphoric as he reverts the scoreboard in seemingly lost frames.
    Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Stuart Bingham - Last 16
    Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Ryan Day - QF
    Statistical analysis shows that playing first in a re-spotted black may increase the chances of winning (29 out of 46 tiebreakers have been won by the first to play). However, it's just odds, and in this video, the second to play wins (on shot #6, he nevertheless gets the typical first shot position).
    The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
    Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
    This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.

      The lineup is decent this year...i would've taken McGill over Gilbert, and maybe Carter should be in there in place of Un-Nooh, but no matter, it's promising to be a fantastic tourney. (And i hope Stevens would be in next year...)
      And of course we have to wait near-longest until Ronnie...

    Poor Bingo, always so emotional i feel bad for him. He was once so upset he started complaining about Ronnie hitting the table and not being reprimanded.. :D
    And PS: Ronnie lost a Masters final to Steve Davis?? That game i wanna see, hope it's on YT! It must be impressive from Davis...

      @@FormostPanda what's the difference between snooker and billiards?

    • @FormostPanda
      @FormostPanda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@themerovingian7154 Mostly differences but some similarities. There are numerous billiard games and they're divided between pockets or straight rails. Pocket billiards have bigger balls but smaller tables. They have the same pocket layout as snooker but the tables vary from 4-1/2' X 9', 4' X 8', and 3.5' X 7. The last one is called a bar table in the USA. There are a lot of different pocket billiard games, Straight pool, one pocket, 8 ball, 9 ball, ten ball, rotation, and a few others. Back int he day, we use to play golf on a 6' X 12' snooker table. Most snooker tables in America are 5' X 10". Then there's carom billiards. These tables are 5' X 10 and don't have pockets. There are also a bunch of different games involving different combinations of caroms.
      The one most played today is three cushion. You have an object ball, your opponent's ball, and one object ball. The idea is to hit your opponents ball and the object ball and at least three cushions, in any order as long as you end up hitting one of the balls at the end. There's also straight rails, balk line and four ball. Cues are different as well. Snooker cues are tapered to the tip. A billiard cue is straight as the end. That's why snooker players use an open bridge while most billiard players play most their shots with a closed bridge.
      I'm being too long winded but I hope it gives you some idea.

    What’s the frame (sorry this is really vague), maybe a 147 or a big frame in the world championships in the last few years where he has a near impossible long pot, tight down the right cushion and he even screws all the way back for the black? I’ve completely lost memory of where to find it/what match it was in.

    • @CesarMuroya
      @CesarMuroya  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you talk about the final frame of the 2014 Welsh Open final, O'Sullivan vs Ding.

      @danieljamesmead 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CesarMuroya haha yeah I actually ended up watching loads of videos and found the Ding one. I actually thought it was a lot closer to cushion - not to diminish the effort. Maybe I was mixing it up a bit with the Bingham one. Either way, fudging brilliant isn’t it.

    how come Ronnie didn't try the double? 4:40 , also at 5:40 ? and he didn't smash the into the reds at 8:40? weird, it seems, these days, he's too scared to play proper snooker against the big boys (Judd, Selby, Higgins, Alex, Jordan Brown, Cahil)?
