Hi.. Thank you great video! I don't have this exact remote but could follow in my menu. It did the whole procedure and said it was paired or whatever you call that, and yet it isn't controlling my Directv. Not sure what I can try now?
It could be because you don't have the exact remote for the TV. Or the remote is not connected to the TV via bluetooth. Or if your Sony TV is not a 2021 - 2022 ish model, it may not work this way.
@@FisherElectronics Thank you. It was controlling directv then suddenly not. It's Sony Bravia xr65A80J with it's remote. 2021. The remote controls the tv and soundbar but not the sattelite box now. If you have any tricks of the trade for me :-D
@@windogalaz1985 1) Press and hold green power button on Sony TV remote. Wait around 5 seconds and choose restart from menu that pops up. 2) If that does not do it, try resetting the remote programming and then reprogram the TV remote to the directv receiver.
Thanks for your comment. I tried all three steps but all with a negative result. After a complete reset of my Sony I was one step closer than before because the tv box was detected But the last step: "the remote controller was detected and will be tested fot 10 seconds (Prog Up)" did not work properly. After the 10 seconds it asked if I saw a different picture and because this was not the case I answered no. Here it ended again with a negative result??
If you have the X90L do a software update. When it asks to test for channel up and down you need to press the select button between the arrows on the remote. Not sure if you were doing that or not.

Great. Can you show how to pair a replacement remote (the backlit RMF-TX621E) so that the App shortcut buttons (Netflix, TH-cam, Disney+, Prime Video) work? I even reset the TV to factory settings without luck. A problem might be is that i don’t see a way to unpair the old/original remote.

Is the remote working in IR mode, bluetooth mode or inband CEC ? I have my set top box pluged into my Denon AVR to get the best sound and upscaleing and my avr pluged into hdmi 3 (ARC). I am getting a conflict with the Denon Smart menues and the cable box.

After an internet failure, the supplied Sony remote control no longer works for the Arris 2952 V2 TV receiver. Before that I could operate both the TV receiver and the TV with this remote control. Through Settings, external inputs, cable/sat setup and setup by model number I tried to get that done, but the last step in this process doesn't work. After “searching for cable/satellite receiver” I get the message: “cable/satellite receiver not found”. Sometimes after entering the manufacturer and model number I get the message “Connecting with cable/satellite receiver, this may take up to 30 seconds” but no success here either: even after half an hour still the same message. Can you please give me a tip on how to solve this problem?
Try these things, however it is not uncommon for any TV manufacturer (not just Sony) to lose remote programming to boxes. Or any TV manufacturers remote to not be able to connect to certain boxes. 1) Check for software update in Sony TV 2) Unplug from power both the TV and Arris TV receiver. Wait 5 minutes and plug both units back in. After box boots up, try resetting Sony TV remote program and then programming TV remote again. 3) Factory reset the Sony TV. You will lose your email account and any apps you logged into. You will need to log back into apps you used on TV. 4) That is not a guarantee that these will work, but things to try. If one of these works, please advise back with that information.
Cable box is connected directly to TV. Try either holding down green power on Sony remote and restarting TV, or factory reset Sony TV. If you are not in USA however, this video may not be accurate for foreign models.

You can program the TV button on the Sony remote to goto a specific input on the TV. Press the gear button on the sony remote, find and select "quick settings", choose "channels and inputs", then select "TV button shortcut". Choose the HDMI input you want to goto. Now when you press TV on the sony remote, it will change to that input.
You would press the 123 number button near the top right, and then scroll left and right to see which features for DVR and recording you box has. You need a box with DVR, but that is not a guarantee that the sony remote will work all those recording features of the box.

The Sony remote would not be able to control external audio devices through optical.
I have an interesting problem with my optical out audio to Bose V35 from Sony X90K tv. No matter what sound settings I select the audio through the Bose system is coming out as distorted with a lot of noise when I play anything on google Tv (ex TH-cam etc) directly from the TV. But when I play TH-cam on firetv stick connected to the same TV, the audio is clear. Can you please let me know if there is any way to fix this weird issue? Is this a issue with the TV or Bose?
You need to push the 123 number button near the top right of the small Sony remote, Then on the bottom of the TV a number bar will appear. Use the arrows on the sony remote to select the channel number, then arrow down and select enter.

You should be able to pair the sony remote to most satellite boxes. This was a Tivo volt box 500GB

You push the hamburger button, looks like guide or graphs below the channel -
But at the end the TV remote can’t turn on cable box. My old LG TV can do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I control the menu on my cable box? I can get to the guide but not be menu.
You push the TV button on the remote and the boxes options will appear at the bottom of the screen, one being home (menu)
