- My go to Sony TV image settings.I tested it with the A95K and A80J OLED TVs but, you could try it on other models of Sony TVs & let me know if it works for you.
These settings are just my personal settings, make sure to adjust them to your personal preference. They are not meant to be the most accurate settings possible I try to go for picture pop over everything.

I really like Sony Bravia's settings panel and how much it allows you to "play" with the image and (usually) keep a great picture quality.On my A80K I always like to configure the image based on the stuff I'm watching.

@@rhadooathos For the most part I liked the settings but I undid any with motion. I hate the motion crap and turn that all off. Also, I believe I changed one of the color settings to something different that I liked. Otherwise, most everything else was spot on.

So are you saying to setup two different Custom profiles? One for SDR and one for HDR? Or are these settings for both SDR/HDR?
I just got the A80L and I used pretty much same settings as you. Great video by the way. The 1 thing that confuses me is signal input. I put my PS5 to HDMI 4 for the VRR so I put signal input for that on VRR also. Or should I put it to enhanced? Or change it depending on if I'm gaming or watching Netflix?
I just picked up the sony a80k yesterday and it’s amazing…I almost got the a95k but I figured I didn’t need it..the a80k is good enough

@@kaguscon you really have to see the A95k to believe. That imax enhanced setting is where I based my settings and my mind is blown by it

KG - TKS for the Great Custom Settings! Have unrelated question, just maybe u might have help idea or 2, I had a 77A80J that had this same Problem before it Died and was replaced by Sony w a new 77A80K - it too, turns out has the same annoying problem: The Problem: after setting up my AVR and my BD Player - the Bravia Notifications tells me I need to SETUP the AVR everytime I turn the set ON - so I run Setup and it tells me it's been Configured then I click Finish. If I then go to OTA TV for awhile and then go back - I will have to Setup the AVR again. Have u heard of this? TKS

Hello tech with kg. hope you can answer this. i don't care much about Dolby vision so I'm curious if on my Sony a95k if i change the HDMI sig format from HDMI 3 earc enhanced Dolby vision, to just enhanced will i loose any picture quality or gain any? everything except my ps5 is going through my Yamaha A8A.thank you. and as always great content.🙏.

Hi, I have a Sony A95K, in game mode I see it as too dark, I wanted to know if I increase the contrast and put the super contrast at medium level, do I risk burning the TV because it's too bright?
But honestly how much better is the a95k compared to the a90k? I know its qd oled but is it really that much brighter and more accurate

Hi there. I have A95K here but some games look very off in the nighttime and I didn't have this issue with C9 or S95B. Night in RDR2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Dead Island 2(and more) are way too bright, like washed out almost, but caves in Tomb Raider are proper dark. This is with Xbox Series X. What could this be?

I've just got an A80L and was initially a bit underwheled. I tested it with Avatar on bluray via PS3, the picture quality seemed a bit dull and undersaturated. This was using the Custom and IMAX setting that all the reviews say are the best.
I’ve spent a bit of time messing with the options and it seems my current settings are similar to what you're suggesting. So that's good to know!
It's just annoying how it isnt set-up from the factory like this 🙄 especially considering how much these things cost!
I bet you used Rtings recommended settings. I've done that so many times and found their recommendations quite putrid.

Do you use custom mode when streaming Dolby Vision content or so you switch to Dolby Bright or Dark?
In my opinion dolby vision dark is extremely dark on sony tv's.Bright option however seems to be the right one.Reviewers also think the same.
@@vasago07 on my A95k, even after professional calibration, the two Dolby Vision modes are at opposite ends of the spectrum. DV Dark is way too dark even in a dimly lit room and DV Bright is too bright at times, even in a well lighted room. With the latter I've tamped down some of the picture settings to even out the image in most cases. The Sonys have so many settings that if you're not careful you can end up with a worse picture.
Could u tell me how to set the best equaliser settings for hearing tv speakers sound somehow high or rich sound in less volume level below 10?
After one month of purchasing new XR-55X90L , demo installed by sony technician, sound is good at a very less volume less than 10, in tv channels, in OTT platforms are good at same volume level between 5-10, now by today, while seeing tv channels and OTT platforms at 7-10 volume level, sound is very low, not able to feel the good sound experience like before. How's happened? Whether my father accidentally changed settings in equaliser by reset or what happened i don't know?!
I tried reset, changed the volume offset to maximum, tv speaker sound quality now is not as same before yesterday. My father too didnt know how's it happened!?

Great video, would you recommend these settings for X90K? Most of our watching is over cable, football looks good, some of the other programs not so much not real crisp or sharp.
I think a lot of it could carry over to the x90k. I got feedback saying it was good for the x95j and x95k so give it a shot. For lower resolution stuff try out reality creation.

What are the best settings for Bravia 65x800H?
When I watch cable TV. The white clothes people wear is too bright. Don't understand this I have yet to figure out how to figure how to make the white blend better. It's mainly people's white clothes, jerseys etc. I have cable box plugged into HDMI 1 and changed it from standard to enhanced for hdmi 1. When in enhanced mode It automatically shows cable TV in Dolby Vision in Dolby vision dark and bright modes. But the white clothes is too bright.
For the A95K owners out there, just wondering what sound bar or sound system are you using with your TV please.
Any sound bar will work, but Sony ones will have some extra features but id say its not enough to make that the only pick just find the best sounding ones within your budget range. The TV speakers are already good so you probably have to spend at least $500-600 for a great option.
Put reality creation at max. SO GOOD.
What do you use for auto local dimming ? Low , medium or high ?
Usually stick to medium for maximum hdr impact if you see blooming a lot try high

You should have put your settings on the left side of the screen so you can walk through the setting menu on the right side of the screen

Should be automatic what source are you using? It might be your source that is causing the issue.

Just noticed faint vertical stripes/ lines whilst streaming from the Bravia core app tonight, do you think I have a bad panel? It’s only one day old 😳
If its vertical banding usually these go away with time and when the panel's compensation cycles run, unless its really noticeable and distracting I wouldn't worry too much.

SDR PICTURE QUALITY ON SONY OLED.
SONY NEED TO WORK ON THIS.
Reality Creation is great with 4k/HDR contents but with SDR, I find it creates artifacts. Sony OLED need a firmware update specifically for SDR contents. I was in contact with Sony's engineers, I send them videos and pictures on this issue.
The only temporary fix that are considered decent are (ONLY fot SDR or low bitrate)
1. Turn off Reality Creation
2. Set Random Noise Reduction to auto, low or medium
3. Set Digital Noise Reduction to auto, low or medium
4. Set Cinemotion to off or low
These settings should help.
Great pic quality from Sony OLED with 4k/HDR not too many changes needed.

@Aina Joe maybe your SDR might be 1080p. Mine might be 720i or p. I'm not sure if you're in the US or Canada or somewhere else. The artifacts are what bothers me and panning scenes, but always but at times. However, in my LED TVs, it looks just fine. It's just the nature of OLED, but Sony engineers don't want to say that yet. They came and observed what I am seeing but said nothing yet.
I own a a95k and I don't see a difference in gradiation preferred and brightness prefer. Only when I select off does the picture get brighter any Idea why?
It depends on the content some stuff you will see a different others you won’t, when it’s off you have highlights that will completely clip details on the A95K I suggest using gradation.
@TechWithKG thank you for the reply. I should have added that it's for gaming on ps5. I have tried different games and both settings show the same picture. Only when I turn it off does the picture get brighter.
What about adv. Color adjustment and you also skipped Auto local dimming. I did it on my brand new X95k. Help please?
usually you want to keep local dimming on its highest option, and the adv color is totally just a preference thing I like it on low but you might like it on high just depends.

I have an a95k from november of last year. The image quality is stunning, but it has the absolute worst looking motion I have ever seen to the point of being completely unwatchable. I have factory reset it, adjusted motion settings for hours and its just a piece of crap. I hope their next TV really evolves their motion quality compared to how it is now
Have you put Cinemotion to Max / high and lowered motionflow?
Interesting i have the a90k and i agree the motion is pretty bad on movies haha too much judder except on ps3 when i use vrr or hdmi 3 theres no judder. Only complaint i have on the a90k is the brightness and no 1440p other than that the picture is insane and the sound is great too

I agree I can’t switch mine to off also. I think he must be in the advance menu settings. He didn’t really address SDR properly which most tv stations in the US are broadcasting in. Some of his setting in HDR like enhance color/dark adjust are just to much for me.

best audio settings? sound mode specifically 6 different choices …standard, dialog, cinema, music, sports, dolby audio
Dolby audio. Set all frequencies to max in the equalizer. Turn off surround sound. Set input volume to max. Set all audio settings to standard, not compressed. Make sure you have the correct audio configuration for how you attached the stand. Leave the volume leveler off. Your tv will sound as good as a separate sound bar, and you won’t have to turn the volume very high for it to get loud.
This TV has the best sound and picture I’ve ever seen! It’s the first time I’ve loved a tv since my older Panasonic plasmas. Sony nailed it with this model.

I tried the peak luminance on high for HDR content on my A80L in my home theater room(dark room) and I get severe eye strain as it is too bright. For instance if someone is standing in front of a window the window overpowers everything in the picture. Or if there's a light bulb in the picture it overpowers everything else in the picture. I'm starting to regret getting rid of my Panasonic ZT60 which was calibrated by D Nice.

Just use the motion flow smoothness slider from low to max, whatever is your preference. But leave Cinemotion off and there will be no SOA!
My settings for my a80j which I believe is the most pure unmolested picture you can get.
Brightness-Max

Gamma- -2
Hdr tone mapping- Gradiation
Black level- 50
Black adjust- off
Adv contrast enhancer- off
Peak luminance- high
Color- 50
Hue- 0
Color temp- expert 1
Live color- off
Sharpness- 50
Reality Creation- off
Random and noise reduction- off
Smooth gradiation- off
Motionflow- custom min
Cinemotion off
Everything else just leave as is. Also this is in custom mode.
I believe this is best for high quality content like 4k uhd and blu ray. Gaming would mostly be the same except motion being completely off.
happy new year What equipment do you have to validate your settings kg I think you need to just get a simple i1 pro Plus and start there cuz those settings you plug in if you test it with the i1pro plus you can confirm that and do you see that Spanish Guy videos when the qned 85 destroying almost every TV even your Samsung lol 🤣🤣😆😆 Andy something is his name check it out and he calibrate but he still do with all of the box
