Lovely and easy to follow! Thank you for captioning the video. I have a few questions related to choreography and disability, if you don't mind answering. I am a profoundly hard-of-hearing/legally deaf musician and thespian who LOVES performing onstage with her peers, especially in musical theatre productions! I have noticed that when I am learning choreography, I tend to have more difficulty picking up the choreo in a group setting (especially on the first day when it's all new) due to a couple factors. These include the cacophony of noise made by everyone's bodies and feet hitting the floor, plus the choreographer tends to face away from me, which renders me unable to read their lips and leads to lower overall auditory comprehension. That being said, I am great at advocating for myself to help bridge these gaps and working my butt off outside of rehearsal to get it down, but I know that some directors/choreographers/etc. have preemptively written me off as not being talented enough to handle the choreography rather than recognizing the inequitable access to the same choreography direction as able-bodied people. My main questions are "Have you ever worked with actors who are hard-of-hearing or d/Deaf and if so, how have you accommodated some of the challenges that hearing loss can present? How do actors with hearing loss combat the assumptions that we are not as talented or not able to perform at the same level as those without hearing loss?" Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to continuing to see a diverse field of actors on stage in America, the UK, and all over the world!
i have no gymnastic/dance training at all and i am a potato in comparison to these guys but now i find myself wanting to try this choreo even though im going to look SO stupid doing it 😭😭 the power of newsies must never be underestimated haha
Im obsessed ❤️❤️ went to see this show in march with my mother, a notorious musical hater lol, and she was absolutely Enchanted by the coreography! Would love to see it again but sadly i only went to England on holiday
I’ve already learned the choreography from seize the day (the Broadway version) and I wanted to learn one from the London show. Carrying the banner is my favourite song. Thank you for making this video. I’ve seen the show and the choreography is truly amazing 🤩
