The choreography was modified so it wouldn't be so hard. The original choreography was designed for professional dancers, which most people who want to learn this aren't. They just want people to stay safe!
I've watched the newies dance scene so much I was upset when it got changed for the video. Then again I'm in my jazz shoes ready to break my arm if necessary so I see the reasons for the change.

If you told me to do this two years ago I wouldn’t have been able to, but since I have been doing show choir (I know that is nothing compared to actual dance classes and the such but still) I can pick up choreography very easily now when put into eight counts and the such
Also, don't wear sneakers with clear rubber soles. They tend to cling to smooth or textured flooring. My friend tried to teach me choreo whilst I was wearing shoes like this. I almost fell during the pivots.
I love not only that I get to learn this dance, but also that Michael is doing it... He taught my group King of New York back in March and I've seen him play Race twice since then! ♥:-)
My question is why people under 18 need to ask to learn this dance? I mean sometimes I ligit pull up the carpet and practice tap/ the KONY Tao break and scream the music until my parents are annoyed enough to tell me to stop

That isn't the correct choreography for that part of the music. The real choreography is different and harder. I wish they would show the real moves and not a modified version.
Bit you've got to understand, there are a lot of people who aren't as advanced as that part of the choreo. Someone just might want to learn the simple choreo because they don't take dance class/lessons and just want to dance. You've got to understand that there are people who aren't professional dancers in this fandom lol

I understand many people can't do the advanced moves because they don't have the extensive dance background required, but during this time I had been attempting to learn the full "Seize the Day" routine and thought I had finally found a tutorial video on how to do it, so I was disappointed when it didn't show me everything I needed. I think it's really cool of Disney to put together what they did, but at the time I just wasn't thinking. I apologize if I had offended or insulted anyone. On a lighter note: I was able to figure out the entire choreography from watching different angles of different films of the dance and put it all together, so that's an accomplishment!

I learned King of New York at a theater camp, but this was just as fun. Dancing on newspapers is a great way to cure my bordem!
