And truthfully i am amazed at the stuff I've been doing!! So please don't ever think that us guys and gals are not listening and learning for a guy who can do and knows what you know. You truly are one of the best ive came across on here and please keep kicking out the GREAT videos and filling guys like me in on information and technics for a guy like me to be able to kick out work that i can truly be proud of!!!! Thanks a million KANDY MAN!!!!

generally I like 3 coats of primer , moreover this is the best method to use . kman , its very obvious you take pride in your work , no shorts cuts , best methods which assures longevity in repairs and quality. your channel deserves alot more subscribers . big 👍up to you
Most important to use gloves and to clean all the surfaces well and have clean air no water and oil coming through your air lines .. kandyman knows his stuff love his videos really informative thanks
Thanks for sharing, and doing quality work 🙌 👏. I know that you've heard about many horror stories from customers bad experiences 😮😮. I'd like to see the rest of the process.
In my experience I've seen a lot of primers shrink. In the past when I would leave more primer on the panel after everything is painted, finish looks great at first. But then after a few months especially over the hot summer months as primer underneath of the paint products would cure all the way, it would shrink, slightly distorting the final look of the area that was primed up. So normally I do my Bondo work real well, therefore I don't rely on primer to fill a lot of the imperfections. I always do one coat of primer and then take 80-90% of it off so that only the slightest imperfections would be filled with the thinnest coat of primer that still remains on the panel. That way after everything is painted there's not enough primer on the panel to cause any shrinkage. I'm sure there's more than one way to skin the cat, this is just the way I've been doing it for a while and this way in my opinion gives the best final result. I in no way critique Candymen's work, he is a true master of his trade and I've learned a few things by watching his videos 👍
So, why not just use epoxy? Two coats, wait overnight then epoxy seal. I get the 2k to block out. On small areas, I love using UV primer. That fender would be a good place for UV. The cardboard trick blew my mind. So ingenious!! I've heard that some people use pool noodles between truck beds and cabs when separating them isn't possible. I absolutely love your videos! Thanks for your time in producing them!
Looking for suggestions on a job I am looking at bidding. 61 Chevy 2 door post Biscayne. Body work completed 2 years ago all jammed out the rest in primer. Been stored in garage. Couple ways to go but your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Greg
@@kandyman5315 hey thanks for your input. You did this piece on primer .Yeah I made it by to look at it today. Unfortunately it’s gonna need stripped. I do quite a bit of side work and unfortunately I’ve gotten into a lot of these cars that have been sitting for a while with primer on them. Love the channel.
Kandy man I need some advice I’m looking to get the flattest clear I can!! I want to be able to cut n buff individual areas and not have the areas stick out like what happens when you have a slight peel. So my question is this im currently using a Devilbiss pro lite with a 1.2 fluid and a T110 air cap at 27-29 PSI it makes a ton of over spray the cloud is so much Im having issues following my wet line! What I’d like to know is would I recognize the difference of using a DV 1 clear coat gun I see it operates at a much less PSI .
@ I think I’m going to go ahead and order one what fluid tip and air cap would you recommend for a flat finish I’ll be using a high solids European urethane clear.

Hey great tip that I sure be using it on the next fender and door prime I get in sir .. ☝️

Thanks for the feedback. If your way is working. Keep it up
if shrinkage is your biggest concern why don't you use a poly primer?
So, why not just use epoxy? Two coats, wait overnight then epoxy seal. I get the 2k to block out.

I would like to see how you paint this job candyman
Yep lets see it. !!!!
👍
Wow that fender looked like it had liquid glass poured over it just beautiful work...
I saw that you used a 1.2 tip. What was your mixture ratios on the urethane primer? I'm guessing that you thinned it down 4:1:2 like a sealer?
4.11 sprays it fine flat
Ever use OSPHO on bare metals before priming?
Yes

Can u explain what u mean by using urethane?
Urethane is the primer. And what is made from.
How many coats of 2k would you recommend??
2-3 coats
yeah, let's see the rest of the car being worked on. 👍
Would 320 on top of paint before epoxy primer be ok?
