Hi Kandy Man, this is one of the few professions where you can never know it all so you can learn something new every day which is why I love it so much as we can all learn from each other👌you seem to lay the basecoat a lot wetter since changing from the PPG it looked like you were laying clearcoat when the base was going on, that clear laid down beautifully with the 1.3 as the gloss was off the chart, very nice job👏👍John UK
Just used the 1.3 op for clear and I was super pleased! Buying another for clear and keep one a base gun ✊🏼 Thanks for the video, was gonna buy the 1.5 but after using it just now I’ll be doubling up on the 1.3
I just wrapped up a tri tone, 100% coverage champaign, silver, black flake job on a bass boat with a total of 6 coats clear 3 wet sand plus 3 to get the flake buried and did the entire job with a $27 gun off Amazon. Gun came with 4 sets of heads from 1.4-2.5 and did a great job. That said… I wouldn’t use it for a production setting nor do I expect it to last. It didn’t atomize very well but I was able to adapt and glass out the clear anyway with just a little urethane wave. Long story short… it’s not the tools but the technique.
When Im mad at my boss I reduce my clear from Glasurit 10% and get my Porphis and lay it down like glass so the structure doesn't match 😂. Love to watch your videos
I bought lumai gun 6 months ago and its called the meiji finer core in the UK have n't used it much its hung in my rack at home must drag it out and use it again . 👍
Another leaning lesson from the Master, beautiful job as alway... i have the 1.5 op for clear and base, can i use them same way you did on this job? Or for clear you won't use the base 1.5 OP ?
Thanks for the information, I have both of those guns but only use the 1.3 for everything, so nice could u pls give us u,r settings for both set ups pls
hey kandy man i painted a car apart because i am trying to learn how to do it apart to be efficient. so new parts i painted all matched but the blend panels didnt they where yellower then the new parts which even tho i sprayed new paint on the panels. it was a white color solid only thing i can think of was not putting sealer on the door. the fender ma
@ it helps a lot! I used to just do the insides of the consoles with no light just muscle memory which worked but the peace of mind being able to see it is nice.
Looking for some advice I change the quarter panels in a 1972 chevelle , I hear that the right way to do the roof to quarter panel seam is to use lead but I’m scared to use that because I never used it before and I hear is bad if you don’t know how to used , someone mentioned to me to use fiber glass but I wanted an opinion from an expert of what else I can use other than lead , thank you.
@ I did weld but It looks like I might need still some type of filler to make it even not a lot but I need some, these is my first time doing a job like these , any recommendations of what type of filler I can use ?
You may have said but are you using hvlp or the op version gun. Enjoy hearing your options and like you always im always try to improve or at least be educated on what’s available
I’m really not that sure about putting sealer over everything before you base it. Why don’t you do a destructive adhesion test, get a junk part and do a cross hatch and use Ichibon tape to see if there is a difference in adhesion. That’s a lot of time and material that can cost you and the company quite a bit of money.
I just started painting at my shop I been looking to purchase some different guns but i don’t know which one would work better for the products we use, our shop uses axalta paints and uses imron elite 8460s & 8840s do you have any guidance on which guns would work better.
@ my boss is looking at either this or speis high tech from what I have seen this base dries super super smooth. I spray Sikkens solvent and never have sprayed water so I’m excited to see the difference
man i carried that thing on my head for 30 years and didn't know why i was doing that when i took it off everyone around me was so happy mostly my wife and kids i was a fool for 30 years thank God i woke up I was following some fool from India who started this and their followers
Nice one! Man that booth got tight with all those parts
Yes it was!

Sounds like new parts are not fully covered. But you always want to do the same thing to all panels sealer base clear
@ yeah that could be it it almost looks like the old color bleeded and made the new one more yellow ill seal the door tomorrow and see what happens
I just got the luma 3 light! Works greats seeing in the all the low visible areas on boats but kinda feels like cheating.
I bet it helps out great for you nick💪
@ it helps a lot! I used to just do the insides of the consoles with no light just muscle memory which worked but the peace of mind being able to see it is nice.
I LOVE YOUR WISDOM AND ESPECIALLY THE HUMILITY,AWESOME, CAN THE PORPHIS PRD, 715,AND 717 BREAK UP THIS THICK 109 CLEARCOAT?😊
Haven't tried it yet 👍
@kandyman5315 THANKS FOR THE NEW VIDEO, VERY HELPFUL

My method is welding no lead no fiber glass
@ I did weld but It looks like I might need still some type of filler to make it even not a lot but I need some, these is my first time doing a job like these , any recommendations of what type of filler I can use ?
@JuanjoseMiguel-z9f make sure the weld is solid with no holes. Grind epoxy then use a premiumbody filler
1.2 small droplets better results for clear coat and 1,3 for base
Where is the shop located? Looks amazing?
Land olakes fl
You may have said but are you using hvlp or the op version gun. Enjoy hearing your options and like you always im always try to improve or at least be educated on what’s available
Op 👍👍
Great videos 👍 have you gone off the iwatas?
Not at all use them daily

What brand gun are using and type?
Luma exodus
What did you mean when you said they smoked the previous repair?
Thsy did not clear the full panel. They melted the paint in not a good repair
I just started painting at my shop I been looking to purchase some different guns but i don’t know which one would work better for the products we use, our shop uses axalta paints and uses imron elite 8460s & 8840s do you have any guidance on which guns would work better.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with that paint line
@ thank you anyway
How are you liking the 100 line are you preferring it over ppg
Love it
@ my boss is looking at either this or speis high tech from what I have seen this base dries super super smooth. I spray Sikkens solvent and never have sprayed water so I’m excited to see the difference
@austinthebeast33 100 line is the newest state of the art system you .Will love it
How are the color matches in 100 line? Are you having to tint a lot?
Great
How much psi would you run on the 1.3 op if shooting the dc2021?
23-25 psi
Would you ever mask first if you didn’t have a vacuum sander?
I'm not a fan of that .but I've done it .I will mask openings then re mask
@ was just curious ! Big what’s up from Surf City Collision in Cali 👆
💪💪
Do you make your first clear coat lighter or do you spray them both same.
First coat a little lighter
I shoot 100line have you tried to mix base with the 40 extreme mixing clear?
Yes
Is that exodus the op or hvlp?
What psi you using for clear and base?
23
I know its unrelated but what Compressor do you use to knock these god level paint ?
A dual pump
Another homerun!
Do you force dry your water base with those dryer guns?
Sometimes
