Then again if you don't like to be educated about your workouts then go back to watching your Jeff Seid videos.
Don't forget that Bruce Lee also believed in controlling your body energy. He didn't see Chi as a magic missile or a book of matches. He saw it as an internal generator. He saw it as a source of power that supersedes his physical abilities. It was his warrior's spirit. When he hit someone or something, he wasn't aiming at the object, he was aiming for the wall behind it. When he kicks you, he wants to blast you away, not make you snap in half and die, though he can do both very easily. How'd he do it? He meditated. He focused on his breath. When trivial things came across his mind, he would breath deeply and set the thoughts aside. This allowed him to find peace of mind, and achieve higher levels of thinking. You want to be a warrior? You want to win a fight against someone stronger and more experienced than you? You've got to outsmart them, catch them off guard, strike with precision, show a copious amount of insight, and you can't do that with a clouded mind. God Bless Bruce Lee and God Bless Jeff Cavalier. You guys are inspiration since Jan I've gained 8lbs of Muscle, lost 12lbs of fat, and have done 3 competitive runs. Thank you guys
Like that approach, especially because I 've met and trained with his first student and a good friend of mine, late Jesse R. Glover, from Seattle, R.I.P. my friend. And his last student late Ted Wong, R.I.P. my friend. Last but not least probably the most powerfull Lee student Steve Lee Johnson.
Yo this Video is Gold, and I was wondering if tension actually was helping my muscles, I was always called bruce lee in school because of facial expressions and the way my body is built also I'm big on martial arts, and he just inspired me to be myself and I'm glad even Today I can learn from him and others he inspired. Timeless knowledge thank you.
I see this video has a lot of dislikes. I , however , agree with Bruce lee's techniques. Not all are mentally strong and so Bruce lee's training is not for all. In other words there are more weak minded people so heavier weight is a substance that is needed to make up for the weak minded. You sir on this video look all natural!
Hey Jeff!..I've followed Lee for 39 years..and you for 1..Respect both of you..Greetings from the U.K...(Dan Inosanto once wrote a note to me after a lesson with him..'Keep growing'...Meaning in all ways as you would know..Thanks for the video ..
Great explanations and vid.. I have seen some of your stuff in the past. When there is solid explanation and principles you can't go wrong. Like the Bruce lee vid...
hey! i watch your videos! Im doing the twin arm bone thing. and training the knuckle push up as well. haha maybe you might want to do a bruce lee edition video as well?
Wow.. Thanks buddy.. I mean, you know your stuff and have great respect from me.. Very informed, expert advice.. I would never expect you would watch my vids,, that's funny.. I guess I forget how specialised my knowledge is. I mean it's easy to just forget.. I train, I train some more and don't really chat about it outside.. Very professional channel from you guys... I need to up my game really.. Lol....
he has 2-3% of body fat, his muscles feels like iron plate, most of the people have muscles but they dont really have that quality as bruce lee's muscle
no, i would say bruce lee is about a little over 6% and that is VERY LOW still. been at a body fat % any lower than 8 is pretty much unhealthy. you can be 8-9% bodyfat and have hard ripped abs and look ripped.
Julio Gomez well who knows XD, some people say he has 0% body fat, i was like how come he didnt die... some say he can do 100 more push ups with 1 finger, is like myths
I have trained in Jeet Kune Do for many years.. stand behind Bruce Lee's training.. lifestyle.. philosophy.. and his mindset.. while establishing my own methods as well.. it's GREAT to see you do a video on his training..Thank You Jeff!!!😎
Jeff, your videos are as inspiring as Bruce Lee. Just wanted to say thank you for all the efforts you put in to such a great channel. All the best to you!
I really do appreciate the wealth of information I've gotten just from the free Athlean-X vids. After watching a few vids I decided to tone down the speed of my workouts after they addressed time under tension vs explosive workouts. Best shite ever. I'm sore, dead, and I love it. Keep it up.
+Spawndon time under tension is basically how long you actively use a muscle during a movement. an example of explosive movement would be clap ups(clapping push ups). A more controlled version of a push up (slow and focused) would yield more time under tension. neither is necessarily better as each has its place in a fitness routine. I'm not the best at explanations since I'm no fitness expert lol.
Thanks Jeff for keeping Brice's spirit alive he's definitely looking down at you with his famous smile you remind me o Brice who loved to share all expertise to anyone!!!!! that was serious of course days when feel lazy all I have to do is just pick up any of his books whether is his spiritual or physical dens THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
He would. Make books on audible too and social media pages with millions of subs on each platform. And youtube account, he would have more subs than pewds and markiplier combined.
Good stuff brother. Bruce was one of the first people that got me into training at a younger age. Unfortunately these days are different. Depression and thoughts squash all desire. I still like watching your stuff and seeing you inspire others. Keep doing your good work brother
"Be formless, shapeless, like water. You put water into a cup it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle, you put water into a tea pot it becomes the tea pot. Now water can flow, or it can crash. Be water my friend" - bruce lee
coach I have to inform you that in doing dragon flags you are piking at the hips a bit. ideally your hips will stay completely extended the entire time and all hinging will happen at the shoulders. this relatively small discrepancy will make a huge difference in effectiveness. it's like the follow through on a swing.
EveryDayIsAGoodDay actually you should train calves everyday. you walk on them everyday so just working on them once or twice a week is not nearly enough to get growth. your calves are one of the most stubborn muscles in the body to train up.
Bruce Lee - 135 lb or 61 kg and 5 feet 6 inches or 1.71 meters tall Lee could hit with 350 pounds of pressure, the same as Muhammad Ali who weighed almost twice what Lee did. Lee could do 1500 pushups with both hands; 400 with one hand; 200 with two fingers and 100 with one thumb. He could hold a 32 kg dumbbell with one hand, stretch arm for 20 seconds. ... It is said he could throw rice in the air and catch with it chopsticks - I don't believe it.
tapolna most of his strength was from genetics. It isn't possible for the average Joe, or maybe not even someone above, to achieve his strength just by training for a couple of years. Or maybe not even at all by training.
tapolna sounds ridiculous but it is very true, try and find the video of him playing table tennis with nun-chucks, also the one where he lit a match out of a persons mouth with nun-chucks as well, he's a legend that can not be matched simply because no one has the motivation to train that much physically and spiritually
Bruce Lee is one of my mentors for sure. You don't even need to train to get better at fighting. Just read his work. I plan to train as much like him as possible. I'm looking up everything I can on Lee. I want to be one of those low key badasses. One thing that I know for sure is that the mind has much more to do with strength than what most people think.
Bruce Lee is a true inspiration, I'm only 14 and thanks to watching Bruce Lee I was able to teach myself how to do three fingered push-ups and two fingered push-ups
Ben Grandon hahahahahahah your saying he could beat tj dillishaw or robbie lawler. also before you say yes know that martial arts and fighting has evolved immensely since the time of bruce and almost any ufc big name fighting knows more varied techniques and likely just more techniques in general then bruce ever knew
What you're saying is little more than speculation yourself. It's hard to say how Bruce would fair against fighters in this day and age since he died about 45 years ago. One this is for sure though, all the top fighters in his generation respected him for his fitness and fighting skills. No one's gonna remember ufc fighters today in 50 years.
At 6:05 you talk about the barbell curl and launching the weight and holding it, Bruce use to also do that with a 70lb dumbell to his side doing a lateral raise, he would raise the dumbell and hold it there, this turns into isometric contractions which Bruce did alot of, the isometrics develops the tendons, and ligaments so he wasn't just muscle strong.
Please do a Daniel Craig workout. I think of him as a measure as do many people to what I want to look like. The workout is on Mens health and so is his diet. So I would like to see what exactly the workout strengthens and enforces.
TH-cam MASTER WONG HE HAS ALL OF HIS VIDEOS POSTED ON JKD TAI CHI AND WING CHUN IT ISNT THE SAMD JKD LINE THAT BRUCE CAME FROM BUT IT IS VERY EFFECTIVE!

One of the best Bruce Lee videos I have seen. You absolutely hit it on the head, in addition to being a great martial artist and philosopher, he was certainly a pioneer in the realm of personal fitness. Great job in condensing down some of his core beliefs in this area into a collection of tangible ideas to keep in mind while working out. Well done Jeff.
i personally have used bruce's "Fighting man exercise" cardio regimen (bruce lee's fighting method:basic training) when i used to bounce in night clubs. i currently use his concept about speed training in regards to moving resistance as well as isometrics and eventhough i haven't done it in a while, i can dragon flag. when i get an adjustable pull up bar, i will be dragon flagging again. hell yeah. respect to sifu lee🤙🤙🤙🤙

And his last student late Ted Wong, R.I.P. my friend.
Last but not least probably the most powerfull Lee student Steve Lee Johnson.
It's great that you have had the chance to train with Mr. Glover. R.I.P. to all of them
Yo this Video is Gold, and I was wondering if tension actually was helping my muscles, I was always called bruce lee in school because of facial expressions and the way my body is built also I'm big on martial arts, and he just inspired me to be myself and I'm glad even Today I can learn from him and others he inspired.
Eh, you think God created weaker people?
Knowing how many views this video's already gotten, this video is entirely underrated. This should be a pillar for every athlete.
Excellent video; Bruce would be proud. Thanks for the upload.
Lol....
***** haha the stuff that i know i learned from you :D
he has 2-3% of body fat, his muscles feels like iron plate, most of the people have muscles but they dont really have that quality as bruce lee's muscle
if he had 2-3% body fat he would have a flu and headache all the time.
no, i would say bruce lee is about a little over 6% and that is VERY LOW still. been at a body fat % any lower than 8 is pretty much unhealthy. you can be 8-9% bodyfat and have hard ripped abs and look ripped.
Julio Gomez
well who knows XD, some people say he has 0% body fat, i was like how come he didnt die... some say he can do 100 more push ups with 1 finger, is like myths
You can't have less than 6% of body fat.
+KlusekPospolity you could, but its unhealthy and VERY hard to sustain.
I have trained in Jeet Kune Do for many years.. stand behind Bruce Lee's training.. lifestyle.. philosophy.. and his mindset.. while establishing my own methods as well.. it's GREAT to see you do a video on his training..Thank You Jeff!!!😎
You are like the only person on TH-cam with a good Bruce lee workout but your body speaks for itself. Good job bud
launch curls look awesome
Man Bruce Lee was legend we could never find anyone like him
Your damn right! Bruce Lee was an amazing man and I spent a lot of time arguing the fact that the things he did was real.
Your shoulders and biceps are simply top quality. Congratulations.
Keep it up.
what is "time under tension vs explosive"?
What is better?
+Spawndon time under tension is basically how long you actively use a muscle during a movement. an example of explosive movement would be clap ups(clapping push ups). A more controlled version of a push up (slow and focused) would yield more time under tension. neither is necessarily better as each has its place in a fitness routine. I'm not the best at explanations since I'm no fitness expert lol.
Papa Mcnasty gymnasts have such a good body because they are under tension a lot
Nice video I respect Bruce and I respect you Jeff Thanks a lot for making such a nice helpful videos
Bruce Lee changed the world
Thanks Jeff for keeping Brice's spirit alive he's definitely looking down at you with his famous smile you remind me o Brice who loved to share all expertise to anyone!!!!! that was serious of course days when feel lazy all I have to do is just pick up any of his books whether is his spiritual or physical dens THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Bruce Lee was unmatchable & invincible. Knowledge, strength, speed, agility, humbleness are the words that describe Bruce Lee.
Bruce lee is the BEST
what if Bruce Lee was yet alive and making these kinda videos
Mind blown!!
Then Id subscribe
If only...
@SunnyProGaming
Oh my gooooshhhh lol
He would. Make books on audible too and social media pages with millions of subs on each platform.
And youtube account, he would have more subs than pewds and markiplier combined.
I love your videos. I'm a martial artist and for me this video especially is very useful, keep up the great work. Thumbs up!
Your not Bruce lee so stop lying
+Tonio Shiraishi lollll ok bro. He died like 50 years ago but...yeah...
+Tonio Shiraishi are you serious ?!
Looooool
Thanks alot for including and applying Bruce Lee in your instruction...
Good stuff brother. Bruce was one of the first people that got me into training at a younger age. Unfortunately these days are different. Depression and thoughts squash all desire. I still like watching your stuff and seeing you inspire others. Keep doing your good work brother
I feel you brother, hope you keep pushing it forward.

I cringed so hard 💀
Master Bruce
Lee Da Ga
thnx jeff for the tribute to legend...
"As you think so shall you become"
Thanks for this wonderful video
Starting my first day of Bruce Lee training tomorrow. I'm excited even though I know I'm gonna be sore as hell the next day.
@happyending tsunami it went good actually not nearly as sore as I thought
coach I have to inform you that in doing dragon flags you are piking at the hips a bit. ideally your hips will stay completely extended the entire time and all hinging will happen at the shoulders. this relatively small discrepancy will make a huge difference in effectiveness. it's like the follow through on a swing.
f4phantom2500 This is bad for the hip-flexors though and peobably why he’s not doing it.
Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge
Got my first thumb pushup because I tightened everything up. Also, on 1/1/15
best gym channel ever
How can you not like this video? Such vital information that anyone interested in any kind of training should try to master
I heard your everyday muscles are forearms, calves, and abs
legs in General i thinj
Ozzy Logano
EveryDayIsAGoodDay actually you should train calves everyday. you walk on them everyday so just working on them once or twice a week is not nearly enough to get growth. your calves are one of the most stubborn muscles in the body to train up.
Ozzy Logano and another thing...
Just another thing to add: he was a forearm addict (no not like that). He trained his forearms everyday using a custom gripper and dumbbells.
Bruce Lee - 135 lb or 61 kg and 5 feet 6 inches or 1.71 meters tall
Lee could hit with 350 pounds of pressure, the same as Muhammad Ali who weighed almost twice what Lee did.
Some of those are probably exaggerated or made up, but he's still a legend.
Also, pounds is a unit of force, not pressure.
tapolna most of his strength was from genetics.
Re d that was actually fake, it was for a Nokia promotion campaign ad but he still is incredibly talented
@@ATH-camCommentator i have noticed peeps who can't do something claim a person who can does it thanks to genetics instead of dedication and hard work
Bruce Lee is one of my mentors for sure.
Bruce Lee would definitely beat Bruce Wayne in a fight
no theres no proof that bruce could fight at all he would get rekt by pretty much any top ufc fighter at 135 let alone batman whos a pretty big guy
***** fair
Obviously you don't realize how incredible he is. He puts in 3 times the training any ufc fighter does he would make them look dumb.
No one's gonna remember ufc fighters today in 50 years.
the people giving Bruce Lee a thumbs down will get there ass kicked
Hey Jeff!
Would you invent a complete Martial Arts Workout (Strength, Flexibility) like the new Beast Workout?
Maybe specialized for Kicks 😉
thank you for that deep insight video of Bruce Lees Training Routine. What you need is only your body and your discipline.
At 6:05 you talk about the barbell curl and launching the weight and holding it, Bruce use to also do that with a 70lb dumbell to his side doing a lateral raise, he would raise the dumbell and hold it there, this turns into isometric contractions which Bruce did alot of, the isometrics develops the tendons, and ligaments so he wasn't just muscle strong.
a legend indeed
Please do a Daniel Craig workout. I think of him as a measure as do many people to what I want to look like. The workout is on Mens health and so is his diet. So I would like to see what exactly the workout strengthens and enforces.
Bruce lee was so ripped it's not even funny
John Smith Joe Weider said Bruce had the most sculpted physique he's ever seen on a human
well your comment is funny
Jeff is a legend that will be remembered for his passion about his profession 🙏❤
Big respect! Bruce is one of my idols and you mapped out his workout routine well. God bless you brotha🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Respect for bruce lee
I don't know what that means. You either feel respect or you don't.
4:10 looking like a T-rex
I respect Bruce Lee, and his philosophy. I want to learn jeet kune do. Does anyone know where I can learn this?
Google is a beautiful thing.
TH-cam MASTER WONG HE HAS ALL OF HIS VIDEOS POSTED ON JKD TAI CHI AND WING CHUN IT ISNT THE SAMD JKD LINE THAT BRUCE CAME FROM BUT IT IS VERY EFFECTIVE!
yes.....at mathara one of master his name is hn bandula.. find the internet..i am also his student...and jeet-kung-do folllower
This is great, Bruce Lee has been my idol for 30 years, I am already familiar with his training methods but your knowledge is incredible, thank you for doing this, I really love your channel
4:03 Jeff trying to transform into superathlene level 3😂
I see Bruce Lee workouts, I click.
some good points, thanks for this!
The finger and thumb push up is impressive! Wow!
i personally have used bruce's "Fighting man exercise" cardio regimen (bruce lee's fighting method:basic training) when i used to bounce in night clubs. i currently use his concept about speed training in regards to moving resistance as well as isometrics and eventhough i haven't done it in a while, i can dragon flag. when i get an adjustable pull up bar, i will be dragon flagging again. hell yeah. respect to sifu lee🤙🤙🤙🤙
