I’d say go for the Mini 3 Pro if you want to be extra but if you just want the basics, the Mini 3 is enough for you to have an amazing flight experience while getting some top-quality footage for a cheaper price.

Hi there. Im in the market yo buy my very first beginner drone. Interestingly, I'm going to Iceland (again) in a few months . As you know, Iceland weather can change quite a lot during the day. Wind can be quite strong. How is the wind resistance of the mini 3? Is it possible to fly the drone over there? My intention is to get a basic drone like the Mini 3 with the RC controller. Will i need obstacle avoidance in iceland? I can always step up to a mavic 3 classic. Or should i just start with the Mavic 3 classic ( old controller) and add a battery and the RC controller and be set for years? Would appreciate your opinion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
according to my experience, if the winds are too strong, you won’t be able to fly the mavic 3 as well. The wind resistance of the mini 3 is better than I expected. For me the deciding factor between the mini 3 and mavic 3 would be the quality difference and not the wind resistance tbh.
@sauravus hi, thanks for your reply. I think both are important in Iceland. Wind resistance of the Mavic seems to be higher than a mini drone. Obviously I'm not flying in stormy conditions. That would be crazy and literally asking for trouble. I agree that neither drone could withstand those kind of wind gusts. At the moment there's a sale going on in a local store. The Mavic 3 Classic is on sale for about 895 euros. The mini 3 for 499 euros ( including the RC remote) and the mini3 pro for 699. The mini 4 pro is listed for 1099 at the moment. Downside: the Mavic comes with the old controller and I'd like the newer RC. That's another 249 euros on top. I've been wrecking my brain about these choices and I've never flown a drone in my life (yet). 🙃

Coming from the Mini 2, I guess it’s more practical to upgrade to Mini 3. It’s got some major upgrades but more pocket friendly than the Mini 3 Pro.
