Rory (Matt Damon) and Cobby (Casey Affleck) are reluctant partners: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to rob a corrupt politician's ill-gained earnings. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by police but also by backward bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses. Completely out of their depth, they convince Rory’s therapist (Hong Chau) to join their riotous getaway through the city, where they must put aside their differences and work together to evade capture - or worse. Directed by Doug Liman and written by Chuck MacLean and Affleck, “The Instigators” also stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Paul Walter Hauser, Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina and Toby Jones, with Jack Harlow and Ron Perlman.

I liked Matt Damon and Hong Chau in Downsizing. They seem to work well together. This movie seems like a satirical version of THE TOWN.

Not me! I'm thrilled that I can watch this right away on my 65" TV with subtitles, pause if I need a snack, rewind if I miss a joke, popcorn costs pennies, and best of all, nobody is talking or on their phone unless it's me. HEAVEN.

Hong Chau kills every role she is in - she's absolutely amazing.

It genuisly captures the state of mind of the hippie era and effectively says while their heart was in the right place it was impossible to get anything truly productive done considering the lifestyle. The problem with apple tv+ movies is, they look too clean. They don't give you the feel of a movie. It just looks like a generic high resolution youtube video. At least use a film filter or something to make it look like a movie. Imagine if they made it look like an Ocean's movie or a Bourne movie.

I seen a post ad, at first thought it a talk show or documentary because I was reading The Matt Damon and Casey Affleck Instigators. Then I read it correctly and I was like,”very cool ad, no trailer?” Then suddenly I realized there was a #TheInstigators, so I clicked it and immediately seen the trailer. It was crazy how that ad caught my attention and after seeing the trailer I was so amazed by how excited I felt. Two great actors with excellent chemistry, and so many special guest stars as well. Honestly, I can’t wait to see it.
Casey Affleck is so underrated.
