I started using 5% Minoxidil around august last year. I remembered that I didn't really have a shedding phase but my hair grew and there was a period where my hair was so strong that I wasn't scared of massaging my hair anymore and seeing my hands covered in hair, because the roots became strong, when I pull my hand back, not even a single strand, when I scratch my hair, no strands fall out, when i wash my hair, no clumps. I never felt better, it was as if my hair was tied to my vitality and my confidence reflected it. I've been using it once a day daily since, but about 1-2 months ago, my hair started falling out again. My hair is back to what it was before, despite me upping it to twice per day. Clumps are falling out and scratching or smacking my hair to remove some dandruff makes me lose alarming amounts of hair, easily 100+ strands, a massive amount, and I knew if I kept going, it would keep dropping unendingly just like dandruff.. I hoped it was me in a shedding phase but its starting to get suspiciously long and my scalp is visible again, and its scary. I'm going to keep going but I don't know if minoxidil just stopped working or this is a longer hair shedding phase. I'm very scared. I was top of the world for a few months and now I'm back to being insecure and sad. This is a fight most men have to deal with, we're all in it together.

There are brands of minoxidil which are available just with minoxidil and base. No glycol ir any other penetrative substance is there. They rather nourish the follicles and give a wet and textured look.

About 7 drops of organic cold pressed castor oil on the scalp rubbed in every night moisturizes the scalp and keeps it from drying out💪. I get some pulsating, tingly sensations on the top of my head but that could be a combination of the minoxidil and my spartan root activator shampoo(uses menthol with other oils). Did have a very small headache on the first day applying it but a week later, no headaches so far. Giving it one full year to see if derma rolling and monoxidil works good. Figured derma rolling every 5 days with a 1.5mm stainless steel 192 needle roller will be a good start!

Dermaroller on beard should be used under supervision of doctor. If you use Minoxidil for beard, then it should be used for atleast 6 months. Also please consult a local Hair loss speacialist doctor once too, preferable ISHRS member or ABHRS member. Best wishes,

Hi Rosemary water has been found to improve microcirculation of scalp. It's on Safe list of FDA but not approved by FDA for hair loss as Minoxidil is.

Sir i have started experiencing sudden hair loss with huge volume from a couple of months ago. It is continuously persisting. I have two questions:

Yes, you can use it once a day only. Minoxidil's effect stays for around 22 hours, so once an hour is good if there are any problems like headache. Please consult your prescribing doctor once too.
Do we need to wash our hair everyday if we use it on daily basis
So I used fin/minoxidil all 2021 and regrew my hair and was so happy with my results. I stopped using it for a month. I moved from the eastcoast to the westcoast later that year and began to take it again and i started breaking out in hives when using it. I have tried it multiple times but begin to itch and break out in hives. It blows because i had no sides and amazing results for most of 2021. Does anyone know why i suddenly adopted the hives when I used it 9-10 months prior with no sides and excellent results? Could it be the change in climate? Help please.

i am 22 years old and facing Androgenetic Alopeacia

Have patience brother, good results take time. If you have a beard then go for a proper shaved head looks and hit the gym for a manly body. 22 yrs is just too young to shed hair. Keep trying minoxidil for now and if it doesn't work then go for the hair transplant.

Beard hairs are thicker, so they should be used in conjunction with scalp hairs with a ratio being 80:20 or 90:10. 80 & 90% being Scalp hairs and 10-20% being beard hairs.
Also the hair cycle of Beard is different from scalp hairs in sense that they both have different durations of growing and falling phases.

I've been using the solution for a month and a half now and seeing results already. Hello, what about the minoxidil residues in the scalp? I have noticed these in mine and noticed these are accumulating after some applications
Please switch to Foam formulation which has stearyl alchol as preservative/delivery agent, instead of Lotion form which has Propylene glycol (which generally causes, scales/dandruff etc). Please consult your prescribing doctor once too.

Hello, Doctor. I am 39 years old. My hairfall was too much so I went to a Dermatologist and he prescribed me to use
1. Ketoconazole Lotion 2%,
2. Ana boom anti hairfall shampoo and
3. Minoxidil Topical Solution USP 5%.
After using it for two and half months I stop using it. Now my hairfall is increasing so I went to a pharmacy and bought 10% of Minoxidle n Anaboom anti hairfall shampoo. I have increased 5% to 10% of Minoxidil. For now I have been using it once a day. Will there be any side effects for increasing the %? How long shall I continue to use this Minoxidil to see positive result of my hair growth? Is there any other ways to control hairfall and increase my hair growth? Please do help me.
Hi doctor, can topical minoxidil cause varicocele?
no. the RIGHT way to apply it is to put some droplets on the scalp and then pass a dermaroller onto it; it improves the absorption and, tough some MXDL may go systemic, the majority stays in the scalp beyond the stratum corneum of the skin and does its job.
pass the roller (1,5 mm needles or spike length) always in one direction (not back and forth) on the scalp that's been wetted with MXDL; that should be done in multiple directions (but one pass at a time) for a total of 2 to 4 minutes.
then run your fingers through your hair and let the sticky MXDL residues pass from the hair to your hands, then rub your hands together so it comes off, crumbling from your hands. like modeling clay.
repeat 3 or 4 times, that way you won't have to wash the hair, coz it ain't sticky any more after that.
Hi, we appreciate your comment. Whereas it is true that Dermaroller increases the absorption of Minoxidil be creating a controlled injury, but doing it twice a day can be very dangerous locally for skin as it can cause scarring in long run by doing it so frequently.

Please avoid Minoxidil in dermatitis as there are higher chances of side effects like irritation and burning in such cases. If you want, you can start with small quantity in small area first.
