Yes and it sucks that i manage to lose to that! Most terrans just blindly go all in with marines on 1 or 2 bases or if it is a 'macro' player turtles to mass thors or mas bcs, protoss do random shit mostly cannon rush or mass void rays with 2 bases...

When lowko casts lower league games he says "just spend your resources". And the zerg here took his advice and spent it, and won. With only hydra, but at a constant pressure.

I liked his use of psi-storm... since he is Protoss, zerg are mere animals to him, so he used the storms to "guide" the "herd" of zerg animals like a cowboy uses dogs. edit: I also like that some sc2 players actually WATCH all the animations the devs worked so hard on and not just jumping all around the map, not giving a flying fck about the graphics ^^
I've never even played starcraft, but those storms, 50% great, 50% horrendous. He lost because his opponant never had to worry about much after a while so he just took all the bases, constantly spammed out units, thats the long and short of it. Not even reactive playing as opposed to proactive, just passive. When he was harassing and stuff he was doing alright.
He actually still had that game won. Him and the zerg were on equal bases and he just needed to slowly take the top left, then he wins if he keeps landing storms even as bad as he did. Losing all the templar in a retreat is what killed him.

99% sure that wasn't hacking or scripting, he tries to storm with the Templar out of range. They take so long to walk there that he ends up storming nothing or his own army. I do this all the time trying to storm at the edge of it's range or when the front Templar has no energy

There's lots of reasons people are stuck in diamond. It's a pretty diverse league. Most simply never watch their own replays and think they were doing OK for most of it, and don't think to check because they don't notice their errors live. Frankly, for any player below ~Masters 1, it's rare you see games without huge mistakes. Not to flame everyone below masters; it's just really hard to play a clean game of Starcraft 2 and not let even big things slip.
Also remember that its based on winning a set amount of your games, and in low dia you can still achieve that with a lot of silly stuff. Frankly, he could have won this game - if I were the Zerg good chance I might have given up because he was in a seemingly unlosable position. So even if one is absolutely unable to play lategame, just being able to do as much midgame damage as he does here is enough to win you some games already.

Im pretty new to SC2 outside of playing the campaign on normal but i really like the content. as someone looking to just dip a toe into online what build(s) would you suggest to get started with? since it sounds like just having a good build and sticking to it is enough to be competitive at the lower levels
Sorry for being a month late but for Toss stalker/immortal/colossus is a pretty good place to start for a beginner. There are plenty of guides for this build specifically since it's (relatively) pretty simple and generally effective against most other standard builds.
I'm pretty sure he just queues a storm command way too far, so a templar wanders over and hits the storm a minute too late when it's way out of position
