As other commentors mentioned his mine micro was a problem, he F2'd many to their deaths and burriied most others in places were they were of little to no use. Better micro or building some units that could at least shoot when F2 A-moved instead of the mines might have helped make up for bad economy.
His micro was a problem Even in ghost phase becayse he kept having his snipe canceled 90% of the time by A moving army with ghost instead of just ghost tactically moving out, resulting in lurker attacks incidentally hitting ghost and canceling majority of snipes
Yeah. This guy needs to learn control-groups - then he can graduate to learning camera keys. I hate the default keybinds. He needs unbind f2 completely. As Terran, I keep my bio on grp1 and my tanks & ghosts on f1 (I use the first few function keys as control groups for my casters). 4:20. The answer is: Reynor. Reynor will continue once Harstem dies. Please don't forget that IODIS is Reynor's show now, Harstem is just substituting for a while. Reynor is younger it's only natural for him to live longer.
The issue with lurkers is they require micro to not get instakilled. For low level it's really annoying. However, Terran ground armies have much better answer to them than Protoss who has to go air.
Definitely true, just that is a high barrier for newbies which makes them unfun in that level. Also at a high level protoss has an almost impossible time on the ground vs ling bane & lurker comps. Literally requiring multiple good disruptors to come out ahead. Why do that when void ray will just go brrrrr
I don't think anybody could take over IIIODIS if harstem retires. That person isn't born yet, or maybe somebody like reynor would have to get into youtube
In the particular fight 31:49 though. Those Lurkers are doing an insane amount of damage. I wonder how much damage four tanks would have made in a similar fight?
I mean, if you let them walk in single-file that's the one situation in which the lurker will deal insane damage. Imagine if 4 siege tanks were there and were manually targeted into a big blob of no-combat-shield marines. They would wipe the floor with those.
A lot more if the enemy made the worst possible micro move like the terran did here. Also, siege tanks outrange lurkers and are a lot cheaper and lower tech. The lurkers did "insane damage" because the terran f2-ed single filed into them and did the worst possible micro. Not to mention moved ghosts into them. There is no way they should have done that much damage.
The terran refused to use snipe OR cloak... i get he was all army or 1 hotkey so he cant use ghosts and stim so he only uses his stims. So at least just use the cloak when the zerg is out of money barely any bases and a pittance of detection.
I think the zerg player was purposely taking it slow with the terran player and giving them battles they could win but which would feel like victories. The capability of the zerg's macro was just utterly unmatched by their aggressiveness (or lack thereof). I also believe that such kind opponents may be common in Starcraft 2 tournament because, while I have very little experience there myself, in my recent five placement matches, four out of five of them slowed down to give me time to catch up, while two of those four really stuck around to give me time to try to do well, one of those two even specifically coaching me along. But the terran player is likely a young teen, and is unaware of their lack of skill vs. the opponent who clearly outclassed them, much like how they were unaware of most of the map due to virtually zero scouting effort. I think that's why they chose to submit the report. An adult would not have fooled themselves into believing that their own skill was good enough to justify an iodis report, not at that level.

"I wonder if he's ever going to snipe any hydras or he just doesn't believe in it" epic.
jajaja I just liked the video as how epic you read the imbalance report!
44:05 took me a moment xD
is it just me or do I see nova as a ghost at around 22:58
What's the remix the hydras are dancing to at 15:06?
Actually lol'd from "non-existent" stamp and the mute trolling)
The issue with lurkers is they require micro to not get instakilled. For low level it's really annoying. However, Terran ground armies have much better answer to them than Protoss who has to go air.
Disruptor exist and splitting your army is also an option for protoss.
That person isn't born yet, or maybe somebody like reynor would have to get into youtube
reynor still quite behind harstem in showman skills :/
@@MrMcMuggel he's young he's got time to get better
Actually, 4 mines would have done a lot more damage if the zerg run a full ball of banelings into it.
The equivalent would be 3 mines hitting an army of muta that stacked on top of each other.
Not possible unless play extremely bad by other party.
Got me with the taking the hobbits to isenguard….. got me good
I will admit, for the first time, i just started jumping forward the starting... book?
You're a content MACHINE!
Honestly, your entire channel could be Is it Imba or do I suck, and Cheesiest Man and I’d be so satisfied
Harstem you should do a BGMWSS as a Terran but you're not allowed to build a marine
44:10 At first I thought Hamster missed a spot in editing this, but then I realised I've got wooshed
Omg harstem that was amazing "muted for people below diamond"... what, he can actually do that!?!?
oh...
*slow clap*
[Non existent stamp noise]
i would like to see a Is it IMBA or do i Suck with someone like Lowko, so that you both "casting" it.
He's done one of Lowko, maybe 2, and Lowko has responded. 😅
I almost passed out from laughter when you said he could blindly a move across the map go make dinner and come back to the victory screen🤣🤣🤣
A true Paladin indeed, Ruthless zeal! Nothing can stop this man!
From charging his marines to there deaths...
15:05 Ah, a man of culture.
The terran refused to use snipe OR cloak... i get he was all army or 1 hotkey so he cant use ghosts and stim so he only uses his stims. So at least just use the cloak when the zerg is out of money barely any bases and a pittance of detection.
great stuff as always capt
Lowko should host Is It IMBA Or Do I Suck after Harstems passing
Obviously, Hamster is the only possible replacement.
Harstem now wearing the Rebellion. Nice
Wow, taking the hobbits to isengard remix was a blast from the past. Thank you for that
towards the end i dont think he moved his army in. i think the marines werent on hold position so when they saw the ghosts get attacked they attacked
Wow Harstem is fired up in this video !!!!
Ahh, the elusive invisible stamp.. that's a rare sight ;-)
Imagine if lurkers' attacks would stop at the first unit it hits.
Actually we have this unit in campaign and it is far more powerful than lurker
the editing realy on point this video amazing job :D
No comments on the Hobbits song, I am getting old indeed.
Is it just me, but Paladin has been in one of the past IODIS episodes
How do you always make my day Hamster? You really are great at making the Cap funny
Glad you guys enjoy it ^^
A couple moments in this one were a bit too intrusive for me (namely the dance party and the fake muting), but still, more great than bad :)
@@Sara_Feingold I mean I loved those parts but each to their own :) Great to hear that the overall experience was good
Harstem, one of my favorite youtuber by far, way too underrated.
