Just had this fitted to my 2020 ST focus at Keith Motors Christchurch and have to say what a top job . No rattles and everything fits as it should . They have done a few so if your local to them and thinking about having this done your mind will be at ease and works amazing . Top Job

Unfortunately there was no Mondeo installation requirement. As long you have a SYNC3 unit, the DashCam is compatible, but the installation must be made according Ford standards. I think some requests from you as customer made to Ford can help. Cheers!
Brilliant tutorial, well done on capturing the process from multiple angles. I can see why a pro install is recommended, I would of broken at least 50% of those wee plastic clips, cracked the A pillar cover and the glovebox would never close flush again >_
Do you have a part number for that camera? I tried to order front and rear dash cam from my local dealer but all I got were the replacement parts for the parking camera and the lane keep camera. they've never seen this thing before. any help would be appreciated.
This isn't really a tutorial; it's a montage. It would be helpful to know how you popped off the A-pillar cover, or the cover along the windshield, for example. I'm stuck looping the first few seconds of the video trying to figure out how you did it!

That camera was never designed to work as DVR. I think they (Ford) do not want to mess with a safety device and use it for something else. I wouldn't...
The phone is connecting simultaneously VIA BT with the SYNC also to the DashCam(BLE). Functions available: - Record - Stop - Event - Snapshot - Some setups like CRash/ Park sensot activate/ deactivate, video clip or Event length, etc

The Ford DashCam app ONLY work with this camera. No other app, either, will work with this camera. The SYNC - DashCam connection is only possible in this sole combination Ford DashCam app with Ford DashCam DVR. In the situation you have this camera and SYNC connection do not work, please uninstall the phone app and re install it. If still doesn't work, please send me details: videos, pictures, screen captures, anything you may think of, at mobile.app@falcon.ro On the other hand the cameras you mentioned are much cheaper for a reason ;). hi, can you help me with the Fiesta 2022 (Titanium Vignale Mildhybrid 155 hp, german). According to the Ford dealer where I bought the Fiesta, this camera is supposedly not compatible. But he could not tell me why. In the manual or in the list of compatibility is the Fiesta 01/2022 in it, I have also installed the Sync 3. If this indeed should not work very pity.
Hi, I just got a word from Ford. The DashCam it's in a process of verifying and validation for your particular type of Fiesta (among others). There are a number of things that needs to be checked: Ground connections, +12V and ignition feed, windshield variations, etc. Hopefully this will not take too long. Thank you.
That's the ignition wire. The official Ford approved wire connection method is to use a butt splice. In this video is presented the official Ford installation for this product.

I stripped my entire car bc I won a very pristine 2017 Interceptor for $2500 at an auction with 50k miles at the auction( Trim and seats to bare bone) They decommissioned it by just cutting wires and leaving them out and about. I removed 50lbs of wires!! I just upgraded my Sync1 to Sync3. So everything is very apparent for me. Can I make a suggestion? Maybe write on video what things are. But I am grateful. I took an electricity class like 20 years ago and I had to dig deep to jog my memory
My f150 has 360 degree cameras all over it. Why can I not just record those to a usb drive in the center console? Seems unnecessary to have to add additional cameras for recording
The 360 deg. cameras it is designed for parking not for surveillance. The angles and orientation make them not suitable for recording a trip. The DVR cameras will always positioned much higher and they got a very different view angle. Cheers!
Uninstalling? Why? Anyway, there's not only time, but also some parts that may be needed. I don't know how the Ford is counting all of that, but at my company, uninstalling a device costs about half from installation price +/-.

A universal device can be installed in any way you want (be careful, you may wave some warranties - for the device, car, etc...), but the Ford DashCam DVR can be installed ONLY in this way. if you want to retain the integrity and warranty of the car/ DVR ;).

No doubt, different specifications.
We worked under very tight requirements and our DVR are 100% compliant with those.

What I don’t understand is that my fiesta already has a camera in the windscreen for lane keep assist. Why can’t it use that as a dashcam?

I really do not know. From my knowledge this DashCam - part number: 2421817 - is not installed on Maverick.

Here can be installed ONLY the DashCam which is designed especially with very low current draw.
Dash cam installation outside ford casa does it voids the warranty?

This is ridiculous! I put a FitCamx on my 2020 F-150 in less than 2 minutes. I was up and running with it on my phone in like 3 minutes total.

Mmmm. Installed a dash cam, with hard-wiring into the fuse box, inside 1 hr today on my Focus. None of the steps shown on this video are needed.
