    1. activate the aircondition packs after takeoff, thats the reason why it was always showing aircondition pack 1+2 off on the upper ecam (the display in the middle) you can do that at the overhad panel, these switches should be pretty easy to find, the should be the only switches which are off, so there should be a white light on them
    2. set the thrustlever to climb as soon as the writing LVR CLB appers on the PFD(Primary Flight Display, the display with the artificial horizon on it)
    3. set the QNH to Standard as soon as the writing QNH starts to flash on the PFD, do that by pushing the QNH knob, thats the one on the very left and the very right at the autopilot panel.
The reason why you couldn't turn on the auto pilot was that the heading was set to automatic, you can see that by the dot next to the heading, and there was no flight plan, you can change that by pulling the heading knob

its not automatic heading, its called NAV mode

packs left off, autobrake on max for landing (pilots never use max for landing), and too early of a touchdown. Considering you are a private pilot, you did a great job, especially with navigation. can't wait to see more!

The A/C packs off was causing the cabin alt warning when you climbed above 10k. Quite a good flight all round

To be honest, Airbus system doesn't allow selecting autobrakes Max for landing for the A320- it's one of those protections.

Beautiful job!!! I did that back in 1995 in the Delta Flight Training Center. I had only 20 hours logged at the time and took off and landed a 727 sim. One of the best days of my life! :) Again, congrats man!!

Brilliant job nice video. I am not PPL but once flew a 747 sim that belonged to british airways at an airshow. I was a little disappointed to discover it was just microsoft flight sim on a big screen with very nice controls. My PPL friend was with me and bounced the thing down the runway. I greased it on. He was very pissed off and wouldn't talk to me for the rest of the day. Years later I was best man at his wedding and in my speech I explained that the approach we made into heathrow was one I had done a 1000 times on the same flight sim at home so it was easy for me. To be completely fare to him I was flying the sim he was flying the plane and the sim didn't react quiet as the real thing would but it didn't stop me taking the mickey out of him for years. I remember asking what time he was going to put in his log book for the landing 10 mins past 11 mins past or maybe 12 mins past. Then I would sing "like a rubber ball I come bouncing back to you BOUNCY BOUNCY BOUNCY BOUNCY." Well done on a nice flight and brilliant landing. FDO

Pretty good job considering you didn't know any of the systems. The Airbus is really designed to be flown in managed flight. And the mcdu is the key to making that happen. Without it however you were likely to struggle. Again, I'm impressed with what you achieved considering.....

Bloody well considering you had no Co-Pilot as well as no training on this! Oh and about the auto-brakes, to be honest, Airbus system doesn't allow selecting autobrakes Max for landing for the A320- it's one of those protections. Also, we cancel any aural warnings/cautions by pressing the same master warning/caution button. Great job!

When I was at OSU our Alpha Eta Rho aviation frat somehow managed to do a field trip own to Delta's training hub in Atlanta and we all got a turn in a full motion sim of a MD-88 (or an MD-8, can't hardly remember). They set us up around 5 miles from the airport starting already on the glideslope and centerline so wasn't really a hard challenge (though some of the members still borked it up a bit). The experience of it due to the full motion was pretty amazing. Was a lot more effective than I thought it would be.

I did an hour in the left seat of a B237 700 series simulator including takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and landing. I did have an instructor beside. me. I too am a private pilot (1500 hours) and worked on these aircraft for many years as an avionics technician. It was very enjoyable and all the sequences worked out well. Through the years i have flown many times in the cockpit with airline pilots and have always admired their skills and cockpit management.

I have only used a Boeing 737 simulator, but gotta say A320 is damn stabilized.I have heard that when rudder is used , the effect of bank is counteracted by the plane itself by applying aileron. In Boeing 737, you'd had to do that manually.
To activate the autopilot, you should have had your
FD on and removed the toggles from managed mode.

Haven't flown in years, but I can say its enjoyable to watch you at the controls. Just imagine, fatigue, strong winds, darkness and driving rain and trying to land manually.! this lad was only a private rated pilot. He was right on the localizer and in the flight director where it should be He did a fantastic job of staying calm and flying the aircraft first and not being distracted by buzzers and other warning devices. This is a natural talent bestowed on the male gender. This young man flew an almost perfect instrument approach. If he can fly this good with no training just think how great a captain he will be with the proper systems and simulator training. All of you knit pickers about not following this and that particular procedure, I would like to see you do better. Who ever you are young man you have what we call in the airline industry " the touch". You have been blessed with it now do something with it.

pat on the back old boy! You could have slowed down earlier when still at 2500 with speed brakes then flaps1 then flaps 2 and gear down if still fast..speedbrakes closed by 1000 ft and avoid descent rates higher than 1000 fpm.Whenever you hear a chime or click there is something not properly configured or is not logical ..so they are visual and aural cues.Good job otherwise.Oh cabin altitude warning ceases once you descend below 10,000 which it did.You set landing altitude for pressurization via FMS and Pressurization controller to dump pressurization.
