You don’t think it would better with a multiverse and cameos from movies no one watched 30 years ago and one really strong female character that beats everyone up?
I remember seeing this in the theater and absolutely losing my shit when he started to sing. Also, the guy at 2:02 just digging the hell out of the song is just the best.
I love this movie. Jason Segal is one of the few actors who never seemed to let the fame get to him. He comes across as a normal guy which is one of the reasons I think he’s a great actor. It’s too bad we don’t see much of him nowadays.
This may have been a comedy movie, but that song was so deep, you have to really listen to all the lyrics..The part that hit me the most is when he said...DIE...DIE..DIE....I CAN'T 😥😥...soo deep
I remember listening to this on a playlist back in high school. Felt profound then, coming back all these years later, more so than ever. Cheers yall. Keep moving forward
This song with the laughing.. it makes me oddly sad? It feels... Like someone is at the end of their road. And that Dracula is hysterically lying to himself, not to save his pride or to discern his fear. But because there is nothing left TO think. My words make no sense I know but it's a feeling that I can't explain.. it's so sad. Painful. Confusing? It makes me cry..
Even though the song is great the bit that always makes me laugh most is the last eye roll he does before he starts to sing and I am not sure why but it just kills me everytime.
@MikeMJPMUNCH Right? That eye roll was right in line with where he was at that moment. He was right, an original song like that, completely out of context from the production itself, compounded by the Dracula voice.....he's absolutely like, "Nobody here is gonna f*@#-*& get this", as evidenced by the locals looking at each other as soon as he starts singing like, "Wtf is this?" He was genuinely depressed, didn't want to perform personal material like that live yet at all, and it took Mila Kunis's character kicking him dead in the ass to get him to do it. He had stuck through a job he hated and a gf who, in retrospect, didn't really support him, mostly because he hated change and taking risks. Mila was the chaotic good he didn't know he needed, can see why he fell in love with her so quickly, she was gonna drag him there kicking and screaming lol. Anyways sorry for the long winded comment, I just love these little details in this movie as well. 😁🍻
@@specialwhenlit8435 I think the thing that most people overlook about this movie is that while you're right in him in a job he hated and a GF who didn't support him...it's the fact that Sarah was exceptionally toxic. There's a scene later on in the movie where he asks her why she cheated on him and she goes into this spiel about all this stuff she tried to do to get him 'over his funk', but not once did she admit that A) she had partial responsibility in him being there (as seen by how she treated him in flashbacks) and B) she never really even brought it up to him as evidenced by the fact she had to tell him what she'd been doing to try to 'help' him. He was 100% depressed because of a myriad of things...and going to Hawaii was a terrible idea that he was able to make the best of. The absolute turning point in this movie (for me) is the difference in his demeanor after being spurned by Rachel vs Sarah. He loved both women, but Rachel pushed him to be his absolute best and to continue to push forward in spite of what the world throws at him (of course the State Fish of Hawaii guy and the pig roast guy helped there) whereas when Sarah threw him away it was just the final nail in the 'she was never really there for me' coffin.
