I love that we are seeing you more often! Thank you for sharing and trying different items so we can learn from you. Love the tips with the different clays.
Have to share with you all: I stumbled across an air dry clay that I LOVE, after having similar fails with brands that were too sticky for moulding. It is Sculpey Air Dry, and I've now bought the 2nd packet. It was 2# of white clay for $9 (then used a JoAnn 50% off coupon!), and every one of my moulds turned out beautifully. They have not cracked or crumbled at all, and could have been left unpainted if desired. I'm hooked. Love, love your work, Yvonne.
I’m so thankful for you! I love that you film the “blunders” for our benefit. They all turned out gorgeous! Love the “egg” addition to the spindle and how you secured it all with the glue and wood filler. It turned out perfect! All of your work is amazing! Thank you for all you do. I know it isn’t easy when you and Chris, both, have full time jobs. I hope you never grow weary of your well doing. We love you!
Oh.. yes.. I use to myself get flustered that my project didn’t turn out.. But that’s why I share and how we can save it. It’s real life. I just newly retired to do this full time now😬so we’ll see how it goes
I always tell my grandchildren, “you learn more by your failures than you do by your successes.” One of the reasons I enjoy watching you is you show it all the struggles and thee triumphs.
It is so nice to see that you're going to be doing more shows I love these I have never tried using the molding before so I am so happy that you are teaching us different things that work and those things that don't work it is a pleasure watching you create your great works of art I am looking forward to seeing you sharing more often with us I enjoy all of your techniques God bless you and Chris thank you again for sharing
So nice of you to share your trial and error with the moulds and clay. Great information. All projects turned out great. My favorites are the caddy with the spindle, and the magazine stand with the sunflower.
Awesome! Thank you for working through the little problems. It helps to know everyone struggles sometimes. My favorite was the magazine rack with the molded sunflower and the one you stamped with the large sunflower. I love sunflowers! 🤗
I just can’t tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos everything you and your husband do are amazing! I’m super excited that I will be able to watch more of your videos👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
So enjoy your videos. Gotta laugh and thank you for sharing any learning, to many people try to make everything look to perfect from the start! I too must learn by hands on, I can't have someone trying to tell me what to do without showing. I actually believe it is definitely the best way to learn! I also am trying out the use of the IOD molds with different clays! Your trials help us learn as well! I think your husband has learned as well, as He seems to know to let you do it your way and you WILL get it!! Thank you again for sharing, all of us cursed with "A.D.D." truly appreciate it!😂!!! Please keep on sharing it all and I as well as MANY others will learn as we go! Thank you 🤗
Hi Yvonne! If I run into an emergency and need air dry clay …… Walmart sells a Sculpey brand of it which is a good substitute. I have used Titebond wood glue to glue my undried moulds but it dries an ugly tan/brown color. I also use my misting bottle to slightly wet my moulds after I glue them on so that I can run my finger over any rough spots to smooth them out. I also have used both spackling compound and paintable caulk to fill in stuff, too. Ain’t those baby wipes fantastic! They save me a lot of headaches. ❤️
Love all of them! Especially the piece that has the sunflower mold and stamp. My daughter just asked if I would make her a kitchen shelf with sunflowers. Thank you for the insperation. I know retiring can be bitter sweet, but look at you, having so much fun and helping others as well! 😊🌻
It really helps me to glue my clay to my pieces/projects when the clay is wet especially if I’m applying the clay design to a round piece, i.e. terra cotta pots, crocks, canisters. I just love your attitude of not getting too stressed because you can always fix and modify. That really helps me to snicker at myself and just have an enjoyable time. Love watching your processes. Thank you
They are all beautiful, as always! Thank you for sharing your troubles with the air dry putty. I have ordered some, but haven’t made any yet. Thank you! My daughter and her family moved to Jackson, MI. Last November, they love it. 💕😊
I'm glad you said there are different types of clay because I bought some recently that really takes the cake. It was so inexpensive I'll keep it. Your shows are nice I'm glad you're putting them out more often
Thank you so much for showing all the messiness and struggles of crafting! Together we can "grow through what we go through"! I'm glad the DAS worked, that's what I have and was wondering if it would work in moulds/molds. Thank you!
I just found you and I am in awe at your wonderful talent!! You are so calm and real! I know you are from Michigan, but you have wonderful “Southern Charm” with “y’alls” and “bless your hearts” here & there. I sooooo enjoy your genuineness and realness! I’m a life long southern girl & these are traits I truly admire and value. I’m finding the thoughts in my head saying “I want to be a ginger chic”, I want to do projects this beautifully! So I, I think to myself, at age 68, I have a new role model. I will strive to improve my skills to try & make my projects more beautiful. You are my motivation! It may be strange for an old woman like me to suddenly open her eyes & have a light bulb moment, that I can do cool things too. You’ve added some bloopers as well that I adore!! If I were to film my bloopers there would be too many “oh s****” or too many 😮things would be flying across the room!!
You are are amazing, you stay so calm when things don't go just right, I get upset and flustered I know it doesn't help anything its just the way I am, but I dont give up, I keep working at it till its fixed. I love all the flips, I just don't know about the molds yet? For me I like the stamps better. But at the same time you have to do what sells, so I will have to do it eventually. I have a small spot in our home town drug store to set some of my stuff in, I sat some in today. Its a start. We dont have any place next to me that rents booths, so I have been selling on market place and my Facebook business page, so say a little prayer for me that this works out. You have a fantastic week and God bless!
Oh.. I know your stuff will sell. Little by little words of mouth will have you bombing in no time. Those are all great places. I started on marketplace
😃😄Remember folks youtube will pay Gingerchick a small commission if you and I will watch an advertisement to the end. She has given up her job and we need to support her so she can keep putting out these fantastic videos. Small thing to ask, you don't need to watch them all, maybe 1 or 2. Thanks Gingerchich for enhancing our lives.
Got all happy when I saw that you posted today. I get a bit of tunnel vision when learning new crafts, eventually I'll get it right. i loved your huge sunflower magazine rack it came out so very beautiful. I'm so excited I got my wish today! A miter saw now all I have to do is finish the 2 bridesmaid dresses I'm working on, and I can set up the saw to make shelving for my kitchen yay. I'm thinking of using your technique to make my cabinets one of a kind. I so hate making the same thing everyone has, I need to be original.
I really enjoy your thrift flips! Maybe if you leave the Crayola clay uncovered for a little while some of that wetness will evaporate and make it easier to work with. Thanks for all the great videos.
Beautiful once again! Love the sunflowers! Thank u for showing us what not to do..lol! My husband thinks I'm crazy too with some of my ideas but he just goes with it..also love the spindle box with the egg ends..genuis! Looks like it was built that way. I love that we are seeing you more often! Thank you for sharing and trying different items so we can learn from you. Love the tips with the different clays.
